Combination with Sodium thiosulfate with the aim of improving root canal hygiene and restoring the oxidizing effect on the dentin surface.The apical third of the root canal is the most difficult part, due to its narrower anatomy, curvature and frequent branching of the root canal. Method: The study used 30 specimens which were divided into 3 groups, group I was irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl, 5% sodium thiosulfate and saline, group II was irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl, 10% sodium thiosulfate and saline and group III was irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl and saline. The tooth length 14 mm measured from apical to crown. The crown down technique was prepared using the M3 Pro gold file. Observation of the level of cleanliness of the root canal was carried out using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with 5000x magnification at apical third . The results of micrographic photographs are then given a score of 1-4. Result: Irrigated with 5% and 10% sodium thiosulfate showed no significant difference. Inflammation occurs, which can lead to oxidative stress and neuropeptides release. Malondialdehyde (MDA) is an oxidative stress measure, while calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is a neuropeptide found in large amounts in the pulp. This study attempted to analyze levels of CGRP and MDA in LPS inflamed rat pulp tissue Methode: Wistar rats' maxillary incisors were treated to LPS stimulation. A total of 30 mice were separated into six groups, each with five animals. The groups were created by administering LPS to the pulp for 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours. Rat without pulpal exposure (0 hour) served as controls. Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) was used to measure the levels of MDA and CGRP in the pulp tissue. Result : MDA and CGRP levels were found to be significantly different in all groups (p0.05 mohon diberi keterangan apakah </>/=). With LPS administration, MDA levels increased on average, whereas CGRP levels fluctuated. Conclusion: The presence of inflammation in the pulp was shown by changes in MDA and CGRP levels after 6 hours of LPS injection. The effect of rising MDA levels on inflamed pulp tissue did not produce effects that were directly proportional to or vice versa with CGRP levels that showed fluctuated.","PeriodicalId":32568,"journal":{"name":"ODONTO Dental Journal","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82681820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prevalence of COVID-19 was increasing and spreading rapidly in several countries including Indonesia. Some efforts have been proposed to reduce the coronavirus outbreak, which is the exploration potentials inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2, vaccination, and improving health protocols by implementing 5M. This study characterized several formulations of nasal spray and evaluated their biological function as antivirus. Method: The garlic was used in this study, crude extract performed by garlic extraction using maseration and evaporated using rotary evaporator. The garlic crude extract was prepared to make nasal and oral sprayer agent and evaluated using thin layer chromatography. Nasal and oral spray composition was modelled and docked with spike glycoprotein of SARS-CoV-2 and angiotensin converting enzyme-2 (ACE-2). Garlic extract showed containing allyl sulfide as bioactive compound in garlic, which was detected at Rf 0.5. biological functions revealed that the component of nasal and oral spray have antiviral agents and block the spike glycoprotein – ACE2 interaction. Result: The allyl disulfide complex detected several active amino acid residues, both with the spike glycoprotein protein and the ACE2 receptor. Conclusion: This study suggested that the nasal and oral spray garlic has the potential as an antiviral, especially inhibiting the interaction between ACE2 and spike glycoprotein. Further in vitro and in vivo studies are required for advance investigation.","PeriodicalId":32568,"journal":{"name":"ODONTO Dental Journal","volume":"76 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75949597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The characteristics of impacted M3 teeth can be different for each person. This study aims to provide a description of maxillary M3 impaction based on age, sex, classification, treatment, and anesthesia in Bandung City population. Method: This was a descriptive study using secondary data from medical records and panoramic radiographs at RSGM UNPAD with a purposive sampling technique. Determination of the characteristic impaction using a classification based on Archer, Shiller, Jung and Cho, and Killy and Kay, analyzed with ImageJ software by interobserver and intraobserver, and tested using Kappa statistics for reliability. Result: There were 134 impacted teeth from 102 impacted patients with 67 females (66.34%) and most cases occurred in 17-25 years old (60.4%); Class B, 82 cases (60.9%); distoangular angulation, 76 cases (56.72%); Class 3, 76 cases (52.24%); and one fused roots, 83 cases (64.93%). The most common procedure performed was odontectomy (87.25%) with local anesthesia (63.73%) Conclusion: Characteristics of upper M3 impaction in terms of position, angulation, and its relation to age and sex is needed for the diagnosis, so the management plan by the clinician is better and safer. Panoramic radiography can still be used to determine classification and diagnosis in preparing a treatment plan even though it has limitations.","PeriodicalId":32568,"journal":{"name":"ODONTO Dental Journal","volume":"61 10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80813066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

EM is considered an immunological disease in the form of a hypersensitivity reaction caused by an immune response to certain antigens such as herpes simplex virus known as Herpes Associated Erythema Multiforme (HAEM) or certain types of drugs known as Drug Induced Erythema Multiforme (DIEM). Hematinic factors greatly affect the length of the healing process in cases and can also worsen anemia because there is a tendency for bleeding on the lips. Case and Management: This case report discusses the case of EM in a 41-year-old woman who came to the practice with complaints of canker sores and scabs on her lips, disappearing and bleeding easily. The patient's condition is accompanied by chronic anemia with results of Hb, MCV, MCH, MCHC (below the reference value). Anti HSV IgG examination was 44.2 (reactive) so that HAEM was diagnosed with chronic anemia. Pharmacological management was given paracetamol, acyclovir, folic acid, Fe, and vitamin B 12 . Lip lesions are given a blended ointment. Provided education and instructions to patients to maintain nutritional intake, adequate rest and regular use of drugs. Conclusion: The healing condition can be faster by paying attention to the chronic anemia condition experienced by the patient.","PeriodicalId":32568,"journal":{"name":"ODONTO Dental Journal","volume":"74 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73145921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
