For this reason the long distance transmission cables are of utmost necessity for effective power transfer, which in-evidently results in huge losses across the system. The Reliable electrical network is one that transports the energy with minimal power losses, losses corona effect represent one of causes that hinder reaching this performance in HV lines are either permanent mode or in the transient mode. In this paper we present the phenomenon of corona and its behavior in different climatic and atmospheric conditions such as rain, humidity, the dust, the sand, dry weather of the one part and over-voltages induced by strokes lightning. New network management approaches and innovative equipment are needed to handle highly volatile voltage profiles resulting from intermittent distributed generation. This paper investigates the use of an inline voltage regulator in a LV network. As simulations based on realistic feed-in scenarios show, it is an efficient tool for influencing a network's voltage profile. Since voltage regulation is not required permanently, such a flexible power electronic device can be further used to increase a power system's efficiency and reliability by implementing features such as reactive power compensation or mitigation of harmonics. Control rooms are still the heart of operations, where several security guards spread their attention over an array of monitors, trying to find events. In some cases, a set of sensors may be used to help detect intrusion or fire, but these are seldom integrated with video surveillance. Under a research project (DVA) we developed a new approach to surveillance systems based in geographic position of events, sensors and security agents. All the combinations of duty cycles with four commutations in three phases during one control period using only input voltage values are derived. The PWM patterns of the derived duty cycles for low output voltage harmonics are evaluated. This has been done because of the varying conditions so that the loss of power can be minimized. The main factor which decreases energy output of the photovoltaic PV solar systems is partial shadowing. The way the energy output of partially shadowed arrays varies with the system configuration used, has been studied extensively. A huge degree of disorder still exists, particularly with respect to the best modularity grade for these systems. There are two distinct sub-divisions in the systems implemented in the reconfiguration mechanism: reconfigurable solar arrays, and a switching matrix to do a reconfiguration. Using different methods, the proportions of shadowing obstructions were noted to allow for calculation of the likely shadowing losses. The outcomes of this paper on modeling and monitoring are used to evaluate the photovoltaic system with respect to shadowing losses with different levels and their reliance on the system configuration are selected. It has been found that power loss because of varying conditions is majorly due to the decrease in radiance occurring on the photovoltaic array and can be avoided through selecting the suitable configuration and connection. The major components of the leakage inductance are known as the harmonic leakage and the slot leakage inductance. This paper proposes an analytical method to determine those two leakage components for a fractional slot concentrated winding machine (FSCW) with an arbitrary phase number. Further, a comparison to a machine design with distributed winding (DTBW), having the same number of poles and fundamental flux linkage, is done. The paper provides a comparative analysis of different OLTC topologies for the design of a power electronic (assisted) tap changer. Eleven different topologies are compared on the basis of voltage and current rating of the transformer windings and tap switches, using a p.u. methodology. The topologies are designed in such a way that they can provide both positive and negative compensation of the grid voltage. Another advantage of this power converter is that it can operate under faulty conditions. In this paper the study of the ANPC using a voltage sliding mode controller for a vector modulator under a semiconductor open fault is presented. The approach allows keeping the voltage of the neutral point balanced under a fault condition. The modified synchronous reference frame theory (MSRF) is mainly used in the new controller design. The proposed system is designed and applied for two feeders of 3P4W with UPQC. This system employed with three voltage source converter which is connected commonly to two feeder distribution systems. The proposed control scheme is simulated with 3P4W and it is efficiently compensate the voltage sag and reduce the total harmonics distortion under linear and nonlinear load conditions. The fast dynamics response of dc link capacitor is achieved with the help of Fuzzy logic controller.
