Kahn","doi":"10.1109/EPEPEMC.2014.6980716","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/EPEPEMC.2014.6980716","url":null,"abstract":"This paper presents a finite control set model predictive strategy for a three-phase, three-level Neutral-Point-Clamped (NPC) inverters with resistive-inductive load (RL-Load). This strategy allows for fast load current control while keeping the balance of the DC-link capacitor voltages. The system performance with a prediction horizon of one sample time and the dynamic response of the system with step change in the amplitude of the reference are investigated. The output currents and DC-link capacitor voltages are sampled and predicted for the next sampling time for each valid switching state of the inverter. The error between the predicted and reference current values and also the error between the capacitor voltages with respect to the reference value are obtained to minimize the cost function by choosing the appropriate state's switching signals and then applied to the converter. The simulation is carried out using MATLAB/Simulink with PSIM software. In the introduction, a brief review of the literature is done. Then the mathematical model of the drive system is shown. Next, the control structure and the fuzzy extended Kalman filter is presented. The adaptation of the coefficients of the covariance matrix of the Kalman filter with the help of the fuzzy system is described. Estimator is tested in an open and closed control structure. The main controller is a TSK controller whose control surface is divided into local models. In the local models located further from the equilibrium point the control lows have the form of classical sliding mode controller. The sector specified as an origin is described as a function of classical PI controller. Due to the special location of the membership function a soft switching between sectors is guaranteed. Unlike the major part of the commercial software, the cases of both symmetric and asymmetric (unbalanced) windings with any number of phases are here considered. The software can perform a considerable amount of calculations in order to determine automatically the optimal structure of the winding starting from its specifications. It is also able to draw the winding map and gives the results of calculation for the harmonic winding factors. The generators are linked to the grid by means of a fully controlled frequency converter, which consists of two three phase rectifiers, an intermediate DC-bus, and an inverter. The full system is connected to AC grid with phase to phase RMS voltage of 20kV. Proposed control strategies include the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) for the PMSG speed control, the active/reactive power control, and the DC-bus voltage management. Using Lyapunov stability theory, a constructive algorithm based on linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) is developed for on-line tuning of adaptive and fixed state-feedback gains to stabilize the closed-loop system and compensate actuator faults with disturbance attenuation. A modulation strategy is based on carrier-based space vector pulse width modulation providing unbalanced phase voltages. Slip regulation control is used for keeping the rotor speed constant as speed required in conjunction with scalar V/f control. The simulation results illustrate the performance of machines for both motoring and generating modes. Currently under an increasing number of electronic loads, requiring high-quality electric energy and under the ever increasing running distances of locomotives a requirement of high reliability becomes priority. The APC with a new structure for locomotives (PΣ = 16kW) will be considered in the paper; the structure ensures a heightened reliability of the APC, a minimum number of incorporating blocks. A tough regulation on the load and a properly organized charge of an alkaline board battery can go on even if some blocks fail. The relationship between the source inductance, firing angle and commutation angle is important as these entities directly affect the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the power system and this paper uses a graphical method to develop a relationship between source inductance, firing angle and commutation angle.
