The goal of the analysis is to discover the possibilities that this type of teaching and learning provides in the operationalization of the goals and outcomes of the teaching content of this school subject and other teaching content, especially in terms of two types of classroom teaching: school in nature and ambiental teaching. Although these are two different types of educational work, both school in nature and ambiental teaching, if well-planned and professionally implemented, offer numerous opportunities in all phases of the teaching process. The ultimate goal is the mental engagement of students as an indicator of quality teaching.","PeriodicalId":32413,"journal":{"name":"Inovacije u Nastavi","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71234055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Experimental method with two parallel groups (EG - experimental group and CG - control group) was used in the research. The experimental program was created based on the recommended content related to traditional folk dances covered in the school subjects Physical Education and Music Culture in the first cycle of elementary education. An integrated approach was applied with the EG in covering the content of traditional folk dances, while the same content was covered in the traditional way with the CG. Testing technique was used to determine the level of development of the sense for music rhythm in both groups, whereas a test for determining the development of the sense for music rhythm served as the research instrument. The obtained results indicate that pupils in the experimental group, where the integrated methodological approach was applied, show a higher level of developed sense for music rhythm than pupils in the other group. It should be stressed that the results confirmed the correlation between music abilities and the movement technique in the folk dances, indicating that the sense for music rhythm should be developed in elementary school as early as possible. This developed sense will serve pupils well at later stages of education and life.","PeriodicalId":32413,"journal":{"name":"Inovacije u Nastavi","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71233364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A dominant poetic image of a ship carried and broken by waves on a rough sea is a product of the poets' youthful phase and demonstrates the evolution of their poetic systems. Resorting to a traditional topos is interpreted as a consequence of literary, historical, and poetic turmoil of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but also as a consequence of an imanent poetic development, i.e. the phenomenon which Mario Praz calls \"the education of sensibility\". Given that these two poets are canonical writers, and constitute an indespensable part of all primary and high school textbooks, our wish is to show the path of their poetic maturation.","PeriodicalId":32413,"journal":{"name":"Inovacije u Nastavi","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71233671","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, the issue of environmental education and environmental literacy is gaining momentum. In the present pilot research we examined the possibility of applying an international instrument for determining the level of environmental literacy, the Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey (MSELS), on a population of students in the higher grades of elementary school in Serbia. This instrument measures the environmental literacy using four components: environmental knolwedge, environmental affect, cognitive skills, and environmental behavior, together with corresponding sub-components. The content of the instrument was analyzed in the context of Biology and Civic education curricula as well as educational standards for the end of compulsory education for the subject Biology. Survey method was used in the research, while the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The data were collected on a sample of the seventh-grade elementary school students (N=111) from the territory of Belgrade. In addition, five group interviews were conducted with the students to check the clarity of the content of the instrument. The researchers established that the implementation of this instrument is adequate on several grounds: 1) the instrument is well-grounded in theory; 2) the instrument is based on a comprehensive approach to environmental literacy measurement; 3) the instrument is adequate in terms of the teaching and learning program in our education system and 4) the instrument has solid metric features. An overall reliability of the instrument is ,87. The respondents had the highest score in the component of affective attitudes towards environment, relative to other measured components, as well as relative to two countries used for comparing the results (USA, Greece). The lowest score was identified on the scale of the basic environmental knowledge, and the conclusion is that students did not fully master the knowledge envisaged in the educational standards for Biology lessons. The main disadvantage of the instrument is the time required for filling it out due to the amount of the content.","PeriodicalId":32413,"journal":{"name":"Inovacije u Nastavi","volume":"70 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71233752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A total of 125 respondents filled out an anonymous questionnaire designed to reveal the source domains through which pre-service preschool teachers perceive learning English as a foreign language. A qualitative analysis of the researched corpus made it possible to single out five dominant conceptual metaphors of different source domains for the concept of English language learning. Among the obtained metaphors, special attention was given to selecting the metaphors with a methodological potential for implementation in teaching, as well as to the suggestions for modelling the so-called disruptive metaphors that have a negative effect on the English language acquisition.","PeriodicalId":32413,"journal":{"name":"Inovacije u Nastavi","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71232847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the research was to investigate the relationship between the sensory and psychomotor abilities of children with developmental dysphasia and the socio-demographic characteristics of their primary families. The consequences of different developmental difficulties affect not only the child, but the parents as well. Gender, education, number of children, and birth order are some of the characteristics which can be significant for diagnozing and treatment of the developmental difficulties caused by developmental dysphasia. The sample consisted of 47 parents of preschool children with developmental dysphasia diagnose, which were included in logopedic treatment. The Modified Sensory Profile and the questionnaire about socio-demographic characteristics of the family were used in the research. The data were processed by descriptive statistics, t-test for independent samples, and ANOVA. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences on the psychomotor dimensions of sensory processing relative to the educational level of parents, but also the order of birth and the number of children. The data indicate that there is a great need for a wider spectrum of opportunities for intervention and support for the parents of children with developmental dysphasia by offering them different training sessions, as well as by including them in the physical activities which focus on the coordination abilities and fine motorics, especially when it comes to the preschool children.","PeriodicalId":32413,"journal":{"name":"Inovacije u Nastavi","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71233013","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Integration of the teaching content and application of an integrative approach represent a way of enhancing the quality of the teaching process. The theoretical part of this paper presents the advantages and examples of the integration of the Literature Teaching Methodology and Science and Social Studies Teaching Methodology curriculum content. In order to practically implement the theoretical context for the development of this idea, we examined the views of students at the Faculty of Education, i.e. future teachers (N=150), regarding the integration of teaching approaches to teaching Literature and Science and Social Studies as opportunities for enhancing the quality of university education. Descriptive and scaling methods were used in the empirical part of the research. The results of the research have confirmed that students recognize the benefits of integrative teaching and its importance for their future professional engagement; they expect to cooperate with teachers and students in the preparation and realization of integrative classes; and they define the integration of methodological content as the premise of quality for the acquired knowledge at the faculty, and see it as one of the preconditions for a better understanding of the subject matter they adopt in the teaching process. The latter statement underscores the conclusion that the application of integrative teaching represents a good starting point for ensuring the quality of higher education following the European standards.","PeriodicalId":32413,"journal":{"name":"Inovacije u Nastavi","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71233254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, apart from obvious advantages in terms of new organizational forms of teaching, there are also potential challenges. Organizing foreign language classes, and in this paper we focus on English language classes, only in online format is a specific challenge. Microsoft Teams platform, supported with selected applications and functions provided by the platform, was used for English classes. These applications and functions were used for improving students' language skills: 1) OneNote Notebook and Chat for developing writing skills, 2) News for developing reading skills, 3) Microsoft Stream and Speech Recognition for developing speaking skills, and 4) Sharing the Screen for developing listening skills. The participants in the research were students of the upper-intermediate level English course who attended the entire course online and they were surveyed with the aim of collecting information about their attitudes towards the platform, applications, and functions. Based on their responses to open-ended and close-ended questions, it may also be concluded that for the majority the experience with attending the online English course is positive. The research results indicate that the potential of using the Microsoft Teams platform in teaching English language is considerable and that the platform, apart from its simple and functional interface, provides an opportunity for improving language skills in an innovative, interactive, and stimulating environment.","PeriodicalId":32413,"journal":{"name":"Inovacije u Nastavi","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71232996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The theoretical part of the paper provides an overview of different conceptualizations of the concept of national identity, as well as an overview of the research on the role of program frameworks and educational content in the development of the national identity of children and young generation. In accordance with different conceptualizations, national identity has been operationalized in 11 categories: religion, customs and traditions, national feelings, language, symbols and insignia, solidarity and togetherness, cultural heritage, important personalities, geographical concepts, family, and general information. The method of theoretical analysis and the method of content analysis were applied in the research. The units of analysis are the sentences of the basic text of the textbook. The research included the Science and Social Studies textbooks in the lower grades of primary school (N = 12). The results of the research indicate that textbooks insufficiently contribute to the formation and strengthening of the national identity of the younger school-age students, in terms of all considered categories of national identity. The conducted analysis implies that it is possible and desirable to strengthen the contents of national significance and, to a greater or lesser extent, incorporate them in all thematic units, which would significantly increase the overall share of the contents on national identity.","PeriodicalId":32413,"journal":{"name":"Inovacije u Nastavi","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71232899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
