The sample was obtained from micro-enterprises registered with OK-OCE (social institutions that function as entrepreneurship centers in various districts). The purposive sampling method is used with the criteria of Muslim family-owned businesses and home industries that produce food and beverages, restaurants, and cafes. Using a SmartPLS software (PLS-SEM method), 246 micro-business data samples were processed and analyzed. The result shows that IWE has a significantly positive influence on EO; secondly, EO has a significantly positive influence on FP; while last, IWE has no significant impact on FP. However, the IWE indirectly positively affects financial performance through EO as the mediating variable. This empirical evidence contributes a novelty in Islamic Work Ethics and entrepreneurship literature, especially in Indonesia. For further research, there are several suggestions, such as using objective financial performance data; using other sectors or industries as the sample, such as the apparel industry; and including a moderating variable such as business regulation, etc.","PeriodicalId":32350,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42559500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"PREDICTING CORPORATE BANKRUPTCY IN INDONESIA’S TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY","authors":"Arni Surwanti, Ramdan Fauzi, R. Three prediction models are modified Altman Z-score, Springate Score, and Zmijewski Score. This study also aims to determine the determinants of bankruptcy according to the three models. Archival techniques are used to collect data. Based on the modified Altman Z-score, 65 companies are in the potentially bankrupt category, while 39 companies are healthy. According to the model, the determinants of bankruptcy are profitability and market value. Based on the Springate model, there are 115 firms in the potentially bankrupt category and 17 companies in the healthy category. The determinants of bankruptcy are working capital, profitability, and activity. Zmijewski’s model suggests that 111 firms are healthy and 21 are in the bankrupt category. It shows that profitability and solvency are significant predictors of bankruptcy. This paper is a compilation of the concerns surrounding corporate bankruptcy risk, issues that each company manager should be aware of to secure business continuity. Investors also need to consider this company’s bankruptcy prediction analysis to determine investment choices. The government also needs to evaluate the policy for the transportation industry.","PeriodicalId":32350,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45549104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data and results were gathered through online survey questionnaires and focused group discussions conducted in the school year 2019-2020. Twelve participants contributed to the FGD, while a total of 325 teacher respondents answered the online survey questionnaires. The results showed that the majority of the public-school teachers are struggling financially. That results in a controlled and limited financial lifestyle. Moreover, teachers unconsciously practice informal debt, which causes uncontrolled debt. Without proper knowledge and education to financial literacy, borrowing money becomes a lifestyle of every teacher in the country. Based on the findings, a financial literacy program must be included in every in-service training or division-wide teachers' mass gathering. The financial literacy program may be implemented by all participating schools where the study was conducted. Future research related to financial literacy programs may be conducted in basic education, colleges, and universities following the method used in this study.","PeriodicalId":32350,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41571953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
