This paper utilizes a model predictive control (MPC) strategy in which the cycle of measurement, prediction, optimization and control is repeated. The first aim of the MPC application is to set a small prediction horizon for the scheduling optimization, which leads to reduce computational complexity. The second aim is to address the dynamic situation such that transport requests are given in real time. This paper introduces a switching type multi-objective cost function and considers how the MPC based method adds new request tasks to the scheduling problem in real-time for the dynamic situation. To verify the validity of the proposed method, some numerical examples are shown.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130253687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research work, the control method of the piston movement for a linearly moving piston pump has been developed. The pump owned 24-sets coils outside the tube and a piston inlaid with a permanent magnet was inside. An induced magnetic field was interact to the magnet and generated repulsive or attractive force to drive the piston when the current was applied to the coil. Some simulation of the magnetic field distribution with different numbers of coils carrying the different direction current has been done. To verify the simulation and the real situation of the piston moving, the Hall Effect sensors were used to sense the piston. The sensing signals showed the piston moved smoothly and controllable in the air under attractive force. However, the combination of repulsive or attractive forces was needed when the water was pumped in a simple channel by it. The flow rate was about 5.5 liters per minute when the pump was connected to the blood circulation simulation machine provided by Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. The developed control signals was successful to drive the linearly moving piston pump and achieve the minimum required flow rate for a LVAD.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127171594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the proposed approach, the 3D and 2D position information of target measured by RGB-D camera and LiDAR sensor respectively are utilized to find location of target by incoporating visual tracker, depth information and vision-LiDAR low-level fusion algorithm (e.g., extrinsic calibration). Registration error correction of multiple measurements from both RGB-D camera and LiDAR sensors is executed in order to carry out data fuison. Then, results of local noisy position measuments are fused using track-to-track fusion algorithm. The experimental verification results are compared to position data from VICON motion capture and the results show that the performance of the proposed approach is better than each sensor's localization result in view of noise intensity.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125672533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the Ito stochastic equation, the stochastic behavior of the system can be described by multiplicative noise. Using the H2 control scheme, the output energy of the system is minimized under initial conditions. Moreover, the passivity performance is applied to attenuate instable energy from external disturbance. Employing the Lyapunov function, the asymptotical stability of the system is discussed by solving the derived sufficient conditions. Moreover, the mixed H2/passivity performance can be achieved to minimize the output energy and strictly input passivity of the system. Finally, the proposed design methodology is applied to solve the stability problem of truck-trailer system. And, simulation results show that the designed mixed H2/passivity controller effectively makes the Truck-Trailer stochastic system for achieving the mixed H2/passivity performance and asymptotical stability in the mean square.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130677632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the useful and accurate modeling of a small wind turbine is significant. This work discusses the modelling and control of a small wind turbine. The basic topology design and control principle for small wind turbines are introduced, including mathematical modelling of permanent magnet synchronous generator, maximum power point tracking, and space vector pulse width modulation. Furthermore, the simulation circuit of a complete small wind turbine was established by using PSIM software and the simulation results are presented in this paper.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126236739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By applying single-sided switching method that reduces DAC switching energy, the proposed SAR ADC achieves less power consumption. Also, asynchronous control logic is used which doesn't need an external high frequency clock to drive ADC. Measured results show that at sampling rate of 20 MS/s, the proposed SAR ADC achieves a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 70.2 dB, a signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SNDR) of 56.35 dB, an effective number of bits (ENOB) of 9.067 bits, a differential nonlinearity (DNL) of 1.2 LSB, an integral nonlinearity (INL) of 1.54 LSB and a power consumption of 910 μW. The design of this system includes three major parts, namely target following, color image processing, and collision prevention. The proposed system using image processing can analyze and follow the moving-target with the interested color, so the intelligent vehicle has the potentials to move appropriately and reach the desired destination. During the procedure of following to track the desired target, whenever the moving-target is lost, it can apply the useful image information to retrieve the actual target position by camera. In addition, the infrared sensor is employed to return the distance information of moving-target in order to maintain an appropriate following distance between vehicle and desired target for avoiding collision. As a result, some practical experiments are given to illustrate that the purpose of moving-target following is indeed achieved successfully.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133708060","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
