In animal, CPG (Central Pattern Generator) is composed of a group of neuron. CPG is responsible for generating rhythmic signal to control rhythmic locomotion without feedback. The Matsuoka's neural oscillator is used to construct a CPG-inspired controller. The Matsuoka's neural oscillator has widely been used for various kinds of robots to generate rhythmic movements. Neural oscillators are used for generating different gaits by setting different topologies and adapting the uneven terrain through gathering attitude of the robot's body as a feedback.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129373109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper uses the D-type iterative learning law to reduce the system complexity. In order to guarantee that the D-type iterative learning law is convergence under the condition that the sensor fault is bounded in simple input simple output (SISO) linear continuous systems, we illustrates the sufficient conditions and proves it. In addition, by using linear matrix inequalities (LMI), we devise a quick determination method which can obtain the optimal iteration gain. An application example is also provided to illustrate the effectiveness and advantages of our approach.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116929434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this approach is to design fuzzy controllers to simultaneously achieve variance and passivity constraints. Some sufficient conditions are derived based on the Lyapunov theory. These sufficient conditions are developed in term of the linear matrix inequality forms, thus they can be solved by the convex optimal programming algorithm. Besides, the proposed fuzzy controllers are constructed by using the technique of parallel distributed compensation. Finally, a numerical simulation example is given to show the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed fuzzy control methodology.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133341965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each expert has their own way to design their ontologies using their own structures. This introduces a challenging problem of how to establish communication channels between these diversities. Ontology mapping is a good method to solve these problems by building relations between these ontologies. The core of ontology mapping is to compute the similarities between these concept pairs. In early years, researchers considered only single similarity for their ontology mapping. Recently, the scale of ontology has become more complicated. More researchers try to filter out all the possible similarities to combine concepts together to get a better result of mapping. One of the important similarity is the semantic similarity. In semantic similarity, how to get the attributes or properties to improve the scope of searching is an important part. This paper presents a method to improve the system by enriching the semantic similarity to expand the scope of the searching area. Constituting semantic similarity with other relations make the system have a better result in finding the correct similarity combinations and produce high possibility of successful mapping.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122648043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system consists of a framework of functions to switch the working space successively into so-called feature space and topological space, and then pave the way from a initial position I to an objective position O. Based on discretization of the obstacles in the working space, the study first abstracts the configuration obstacles as a set of randomly scattered points, and forms the feature map. Merging together the elementary transformation between Delaunay triangulation and Voronoi diagram, the scattered points can be connected to tessellate a topological map. By employing further the generalized Voronoi diagram and D* Lite path planner, the developed system can thus generate a shortest path for obstacle avoidance in the changing environment. With a sequence of simulations, the developed system showed a promising capability of path replanning which admitted for future applications.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123883274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system are separated into three parts, including hand region detection, hand feature extraction, and fingerspelling recognition. For the hand regions detection, the regions of hand and face are first obtained by skin color detection and connect component labeling (CCL), and then the hand, the region-of-interest (ROI), is determined by the feature point extraction based on distance transform. Followed is the hand feature extraction which consists of the hand structure and the hand texture. From the feature points of ROI, the locations of palm and fingertips, palm direction, and finger vectors are formed as the hand structure. In addition to the hand structure, this paper adopts the LBP operator to generate the hand texture to deal with the fingerspelling not recognizable by the hand structure. Finally, the extracted hand features are sent into the fingerspelling recognition system, which is built with several different neural network classifiers. The experimental results show that this system is an effective real-time recognition system whose accuracy is higher than 80% for most of the fingerspelling in American Sign Language (ASL).","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123430169","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
