The aim is using compressed sensing (CS) to reconstruct the THz signal from a random under sampling of the signal and potentially replacing a delay stage unit of the THz-CCS system to increase robustness and cost-effectiveness of the optical system. We present results from using the CS to attempt to reduce the number of samples required to interpolate the THz signal in question. We compared Shannon-Whittaker interpolation to CS reconstruction in a multitude of basis. We conclude that within the current implementation of CS Shannon-Whittaker interpolation beats CS for our simulated THz signal. We have however only just begun to explore the multitude of potential CS implementations for THz spectroscopy systems and see a host of additional explorations to be conducted in the near future.","PeriodicalId":321952,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices (NUSOD)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124179680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Strain balanced multiple quantum well structure is proposed to be configured between two Bragg reflectors(mirrors) to form a resonant cavity. Responsivity is calculated by solving the rate equation in each GeSn active well region of MQWIP considering interwell carrier transport mechanism and resonant cavity. The result reveals that peak responsivity is significantly higher than that of the MQWIP without resonant cavity at 3.8$mu$m.","PeriodicalId":321952,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices (NUSOD)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129489422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, sensors may be designed to make sensing molecules with their characteristic vibrational transitions easier. Bowtie silicon nanoantennas are investigated in this work. When silicon with high excess carrier concentrations is used as the material of choice, the enhancement occurs in the mid-IR (MIR) spectral range, which is red-shifted when compared to the enhancement produced when gold or silver is used. Varying the substrate material and associated resonance wavelength influences the localized electric field.","PeriodicalId":321952,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices (NUSOD)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130687369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first channel is infiltrated with nematic liquid crystal (NLC) material while the second one has BK7 glass core. The first higher order mode of the NLC core is coupled to the fundamental mode of the neighboring core with high coupling efficiency. The full vectorial finite difference method is utilized to study the modal characteristics of the reported design. The geometrical and material properties of the proposed mode converter are studied to achieve mode conversion with high wavelength selectivity and compact device length. In addition, the effect of temperature variation is also studied. Compact device length of 515.2 $mu$m is achieved at $lambda$=1.55$mu$m. Therefore, the proposed design can be used efficiently in integrated photonic circuits.","PeriodicalId":321952,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices (NUSOD)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122753254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
