The purpose of this research is to highlight the induction of the British troops into the North-West Frontier tribal areas in the form of different war campaigns and the local Pashtun tribes' responses in the form of armed resistance. This subject is essential for the researchers to know the reality of the Pashtun tribes and, more importantly, different wars fought between British India's army and the Pashtun tribes on different battlefields. The methodology adopted for this research is a descriptive study, and the data collection is based on secondary data, which is analysed through content analysis techniques. The period from 1862 to 1888 is taken under consideration, and the causes that triggered the clashes, such as the Siege of Malakand (North Camp), the Ambeyla Campaign (near Buner) and the Black Mountain Expedition (Hazara areas). The findings of the study are that the Yousafzai tribe presented massive resistance and proved their effectiveness in the wars.","PeriodicalId":321577,"journal":{"name":"Liberal Arts and Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114759128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, few studies have focused on the negative impacts on familial lives. Such negative impacts could be sufficiently covered by the term symbiotic harms as the nature of impacts on the families is wide-ranging and heterogeneous. This study analyses the symbiotic harms of delayed civil suits for litigants and their loved ones in Swat, Pakistan. We utilized a quantitative approach, and primary data were collected through interview schedules from litigants whose civil suits were pending at various courts. Participants were recruited through stratified random sampling from two strata, i.e., lower courts and high courts. Various aspects of litigants' experiences were analyzed with the help of descriptive and inferential statistics. The undue delay was found in litigants' suits, as the majority of respondents reported that their suits take too much time. This delay further brings symbiotic harm to the litigants' communal lives. It is significantly associated with defective socialization of children and dependents, not maintaining familial relationships and friendships, and not participating in communal functions. For the well-being of litigants, adequate social support and legal aid should be provided to litigants.","PeriodicalId":321577,"journal":{"name":"Liberal Arts and Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124717847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study's conceptual framework was based on a meta-analysis study where the factors affecting job stress were discussed. The study was based on a quantitative research approach with a descriptive research design. To select the population and sample size, universal sampling was used. The number of whole academic coordinators was 32, 16 males and 16 females, at the National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad, Pakistan. To collect the data, a self-developed questionnaire was made. The data were analysed through Percentage Frequency Distribution and Independent t-test methods. According to the results, job satisfaction and workload have shown a significant impact on occupational stress. The study could not find significant difference in gender-based comparison as it was found that both genders were at the same level having the same situations to face, and duties to perform, so their stress regarding each indicator was also similar. In the case of other indicators that cause stress, that is, role conflict, work-family conflict, and total working hours also need to be focused on, as they also have a significant impact on increasing stress among coordinators.","PeriodicalId":321577,"journal":{"name":"Liberal Arts and Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)","volume":"45 7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116148357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dissembled side of the language has been dissected by qualitative data. Two female authors’ Bapsi Sidhwa and Anita Desai, texts were selected and analyzed to find the manipulation of language. Marginalized masculinity theory by Connell (1995) and Fairclough’s (1989) critical discourse analysis model were applied, and thematic analysis as an approach was used. In the second phase, data was analyzed pragmatically using inference and implicature techniques to hit on the hidden side of the story. Findings reveal that language is manipulated to highlight female victimization while concealing male victimization. Female writers frequently use their oppression to blame the male gender. The social interpretation of the text reveals that both genders suffer equally and have equal rights, which should be discussed and highlighted. This study recommends that victimization, suppression, and oppression can also be studied from the male perspective. It will be helpful for future researchers to speak out about the most ignorant and repressed gender in society.","PeriodicalId":321577,"journal":{"name":"Liberal Arts and Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130615959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It seeks to explore a relationship between greater social integration and influences on the artwork of African Americans over time - themes and elements of art, i.e., lines and colours. It draws upon John Dewey’s theory of art as experience and Erwin Panofsky's Thematic analysis (Iconography). The study findings suggest the oppression and exclusion of African Americans in general (in the pre-Civil War period) and its influences on the constrained creativity of the group’s artwork (of painting). However, on the contrary, the findings indicate greater experimentation, uniqueness, and depiction of African identity in post-Civil War period artwork of painting. This coincides with the gradual but ominous social acceptance, educational attainments, and economic success of Afro-Americans in American society during this period. The findings and analysis validate a relationship between the societal transformation of marginalized groups (from exclusion to integration) and influences on groups’ artistic expressions.","PeriodicalId":321577,"journal":{"name":"Liberal Arts and Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132659769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study aims to know the importance of RCEP regarding trade, foreign direct investment and other economic affairs for China and its potential economic benefits for members. It has provided for a 90% tariff reduction on trade among its 15 members. It can potentially increase trade and FDI inflow to China through the trade and FDI creation effects. Establishing a business-friendly market in the Asia Pacific region and the tariff reduction provisions of this agreement have many advantages for the Chinese economy. Among its members, China is the leading economic power. Therefore, she will get maximum economic benefits as, according to statistical simulations, it will increase her international trade, exports, services, and FDI inflow. The current 2.2% tariff imposed on Chinese exports in the RCEP market will be decreased to 0.4%. The expected economic profit to China from this agreement is 214 billion dollars, equal to 2.2% of its GDP and a 13.4% increase in FDI inflow.","PeriodicalId":321577,"journal":{"name":"Liberal Arts and Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121301502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The poverty situation of a country, when defined through different poverty bands, has significant policy implications as categorizing people into different poverty bands helps in targeted policy initiatives for these groups. The five levels of the poor defined for this research are (extremely poor, deeply poor, poor, vulnerable, and marginally poor). To analyze the determinants of poverty Probit model has been used, whereas for targeted policy implication, quantile regression has been employed. The empirical results reveal that ICT has a significant role in alleviating poverty. Access to the internet plays a significant role in reducing poverty by rendering job and entrepreneurial opportunities. It helps the rural population keep abreast with the latest information and developments. Further, women empowerment has a significant impact on improving the living standard of a household, and the impact is strong for marginally poor households as compared to extremely poor households. Finally, other control variables like human capital and the experience of the household head also play a significant role in helping the households to improve their poverty state.","PeriodicalId":321577,"journal":{"name":"Liberal Arts and Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132738092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data were collected through a structured questionnaire from the students of the English and Education departments studying in different semesters at the University of Malakand Pakistan. Data were analyzed using various statistical tools such as frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, and independent samples t-test. The results showed a positive attitude of students (both male and female) toward developing English-speaking skills as the grand mean score was 3.54, higher than the mid-point of 3.0 on the five-point Likert scale. Further, the results showed no significant difference in students’ perceptions of studying in the different departments (p=0.066>0.05) and semesters (p=0.083>0.05) towards English-speaking skills. However, factors impeding the English-speaking skill of the students identified include students’ background-related factors (grand mean score 2.36<3.0), the current English communication environment (p=0.005<0.05), teaching methodology (p=0.009<0.05), and the examination system (p=0.048<0.05). This study concludes that the English-speaking skills of the students could be improved by focusing on the mentioned impeding factors.","PeriodicalId":321577,"journal":{"name":"Liberal Arts and Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125450670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

India and Pakistan, after their inception, have been psychologically obsessed with each other on a number of disputes. The disputes between India and Pakistan are considered one of the most long-lasting disputes of the post-World War era. The article specifically covers the Post nuclearization scenario of the Indo-Pak region and the conceptual debate of the re-emergence of PsyWar in the region. The study digs deep into the nuclear dimension of the Indo-Pak crisis, which played a subversive role in aggravating the hostile relationship and its relevance. The psychological dimension of disputes is as crucial as its physical dimension. In the present era of technological advancement in warfare, new concepts of artificial intelligence (AI) have become even more relevant, particularly for a nation-state where the socio-psychological danger is more pronounced. Thus, it is imperative to analyze the notion of PsyWar operations and the role of information warfare in digital theatre to highlight the upcoming regional challenges.","PeriodicalId":321577,"journal":{"name":"Liberal Arts and Social Sciences International Journal (LASSIJ)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131164148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
