As a result, end-users often fail to internalize target goals and follow guidelines. To maximize end-user acceptance and the internalization of IT security awareness, the authors formulate a set of motivational factors aimed at enhancing the understanding and use of prescriptive awareness.","PeriodicalId":321059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Seventh IEEE International Workshop on Enabling Technologies: Infrastucture for Collaborative Enterprises (WET ICE '98) (Cat. This mobile task force brings about a need for people and teams to collaborate anytime, any place, whether at their offices, home or on the road. Better mechanisms and infrastructure for conducting small and large scale development and integration in support of such \"virtual enterprises\" need to be investigated, integrated, tailored and put in place. We discuss experiences with specific collaborative technologies, i.e., processes and tools, that were investigated by the Infrastructure for Collaboration among Distributed Teams (ICaDT) project, a TRW's Independent Research and Development (IR&D) effort.","PeriodicalId":321059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Seventh IEEE International Workshop on Enabling Technologies: Infrastucture for Collaborative Enterprises (WET ICE '98) (Cat. If these stakeholders are separated by distance, we argue that a distributed groupware environment supporting cooperative requirements engineering process must be supplied that allows them to negotiate software requirements. Such a groupware environment must support aspects of joint work relevant to requirements negotiation: synchronous and asynchronous collaboration, telepresence, and teledata. It should also add explicit support for a structured RE process, which includes the team's ability to discuss multiple perspectives during requirements acquisition and traceability. We chose the TeamWave software platform as an environment that supplied the basic collaboration capabilities, and tailored it to fit the specific needs of RE.","PeriodicalId":321059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Seventh IEEE International Workshop on Enabling Technologies: Infrastucture for Collaborative Enterprises (WET ICE '98) (Cat. But very few systems permit to implement agents which have all these characteristics. The authors address the problems of designing intelligent collaborative mobile agents. They propose a componential approach for designing and implementing such agents. The framework architecture for agents dissociates the components expressing the internal behavior of an agent from the components expressing coordination between agents in order to enhance modularity and reusability. They have developed a component description language for easy modeling of componential agent architecture. The component specification is automatically translated into Java source code by the compiler, and then integrated into a mobile agent platform. They have tested the agent development system with the Travel Agency scenario, one of the standard electronic commercial service examples.","PeriodicalId":321059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Seventh IEEE International Workshop on Enabling Technologies: Infrastucture for Collaborative Enterprises (WET ICE '98) (Cat. Flexible handling of work processes by situation-dependent support strategies 根据情况灵活处理工作流程的支持策略

However the advantages of today's process management, such as effective document routing and timeliness, can only be achieved with detailed models of work processes. The paper suggests a concept that uses detailed process models in conjunction with the possibility of varying the degree to which a process model determines the work of individuals. Based on the WAM approach (Wide Area Multimedia Group Interaction), which allows workers to freely choose methods for their tasks according to the situation, we describe features allowing various forms of enforcement for the execution of planned parts of a process. At the same time, workers are always able to start exceptional mechanisms. This approach is based on the modelling paradigm of linked abstraction workflows (LAWs) that describe workflows at different levels of abstraction and classify refinements of tasks by the way lower tasks can be used.","PeriodicalId":321059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Seventh IEEE International Workshop on Enabling Technologies: Infrastucture for Collaborative Enterprises (WET ICE '98) (Cat. The relationship between collaboration and organization structure is touched by addressing the question of how people in an organization can collaboratively design constantly evolving organization structures. After specifying the term collaboration in the context of GroupOrga, we discuss how collaboration technology can support global organizations. With the GroupOrga architecture we present a technological layer for a deeper understanding of collaboration in general. This framework is not restricted to a specific technology, such as the World Wide Web, but considered to be an open architecture. Despite this fact, we look at two collaboration technologies in comparison: groupware and the Web. The question which technology is flexible enough for which requirements is one aspect. Another aspect is that of concrete Web- and groupware-based applications in the GroupOrga project. Our experiences from selected case studies and test implementations is the concluding topic.","PeriodicalId":321059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Seventh IEEE International Workshop on Enabling Technologies: Infrastucture for Collaborative Enterprises (WET ICE '98) (Cat. Metadata, or 'data about data' is the means of conveying this meaning, and thus it is an essential ingredient for successful collaboration involving diverse and distributed information. We characterize three dimensions of metadata and then develop a unified metadata representation that spans heterogeneous database systems. Our ubiquitous representation also incorporates structured documents and Web-based information. This is in contrast with the current approach of having a different metadata representation for each data model, such as relational, object-oriented, etc. Our extensible representation also supports knowledge-based representation of semantics. We believe this approach will substantially enhance collaboration over diverse information resources.","PeriodicalId":321059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Seventh IEEE International Workshop on Enabling Technologies: Infrastucture for Collaborative Enterprises (WET ICE '98) (Cat. The main focus lies on service trading and easy access to various services for mobile agents. The mediator for both mobile and service agents is called Service Center which is a crucial constituent of each agent platform within the mobile agent infrastructure. It allows to independently program services and mobile agents based on the generic agent concept. Another advantage of the Service Center architecture is the exploitation of an already existing LDAP server that is used as the distributed service directory for mobile agents.","PeriodicalId":321059,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Seventh IEEE International Workshop on Enabling Technologies: Infrastucture for Collaborative Enterprises (WET ICE '98) (Cat.
