This paper proposes a new peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction technique. In wideband system, each sub carrier is individually modulated according to channel state information. The proposed method increases the system throughput while maintaining system performance under a desired condition. In order to obtain the optimum condition on partial transmit sequence (PTS) for PAPR reduction, a quite large calculation cost is demanded and thus it is impossible to obtain the optimum PTS in a short time. The PTS technique employs with grouping phase weighting (GPW) and recursive phase weighting (RPW). The proposed reduction method realizes both the advantages of GPW and RPW at the same time. Simulation results show that proposed method improves PAPR in OFDM system with drastic reduction in cost.","PeriodicalId":320235,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133380179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During transmission, the quality of service (QoS) as measured by their Bit Error Rates (BER) will be degraded by transmission impairments such as crosstalk, which is induced by signals traversing the same optical crossconnects and demultiplexers, and it cannot be removed at the physical layer. In this work a QoS aware routing and Wavelength Assignment algorithm is presented that reduces the crosstalk effects on all optical networks and also considers dedicated path protection. This algorithm incorporate QoS information at both the routing and the wavelength assignment steps and account for dynamic crosstalk to yield better performance in terms of average BER without sacrificing blocking probabilities, as shown through simulations.","PeriodicalId":320235,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125499855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The transmitter preprocessing (TP) is invoked by singular value decomposition (SVD) which exploits the channel state information (CSI) of all the users at the base station and only the individual user's CSI at the mobile station (MS). Specifically, in this correspondence, we investigate the effects of two types of delay spread distributions pertaining to Long Term Evolution (LTE) pedestrian and typical urban on MUTP assisted MIMO system. In a multi-cell setting, co-channel interference (CCI) can severely degrade the system performance and further, frequency-selectivity of the channels can result in irreducible bit error rate (BER). It is demonstrated through simulation that, MUTP completely removes CCI and also outperforms classical zero-forcing multiuser detection (ZF-MUD).","PeriodicalId":320235,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129232657","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

RoF networks is considered as a potential solution for increasing capacity and mobility as well as decreasing costs in the access network. RoF can also be called as Fiber radio networks or Hybrid optical-wireless networks. The concept of RoF means to transport information over optical fiber by modulating the light with the radio signal. This modulation can be done directly with the radio signal or at an intermediate frequency. RoF technique has the potentiality to be the backbone of the wireless access network. Such architecture can give several advantages, such as reduced complexity at the antenna site, radio carriers can be allocated dynamically to the different antenna sites, transparency and scalability. The Fiber-Radio networks transmits data from Central office (CO) to Base station (BS) as optical signal and Base station (BS) to Mobile station (MS) as wireless signal. Due to the signal degradation mechanisms present both in fiber and wireless transmissions, the radio signals transmitted using RoF technology undergoes degradation in their quality, which in turn reduces the overall performance of the RoF system. This paper aims to analyze and evaluate the performance of RoF System, by considering Millimeter wave and UWB signal transmission for WLAN. Special attention is made on chirp effect caused by Mach Zehender (MZ) external optical modulator.","PeriodicalId":320235,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126549116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore it is important for the user to make the best possible use of the available heterogeneous network for connection support. For movement of mobile between heterogeneous networks vertical handoff is necessary. IP Multimedia Subsystem is an emerging architecture framework for interworking heterogeneous networks. In this paper we used WLAN/WiMAX heterogeneous networks and three coupling architectures such as tight coupling, loose coupling and hybrid coupling are considered. The parameters such as vertical handoff delay, Mobile scanning interval activity, neighbouring advertisement received are obtained. From the simulation it is inferred that tight coupling is performing better from handover point of view.","PeriodicalId":320235,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132046996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, the CSI is estimated with a known channel estimation technique, and the phases and magnitudes of the CSI are vector quantized and fed back to the transmitter via a fading feedback channel. This vector quantized CSI which is also corrupted by noise is recovered with the aid of a minimum mean square error (MMSE) based hard detector. The recovered CSI is then exploited to formulate the preprocessing matrix which is based on creating an orthogonal subspace to the interfering subspace. Our simulations show that the impact of codebook size and quantization errors play a dominant role in determining the performance of the considered DL system in terms of the achievable symbol error rate (SER).","PeriodicalId":320235,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129638153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different approaches have been developed to support such architectural knowledge management activities. These approaches facilitates in reasoning about various design decisions, capturing the details on which design decisions are based, along with explanations of certain types of design constructs viz., patterns, styles, tactics and others. This architecturally significant knowledge is valuable in the Software Architecture design process. The design process involves the knowledge intensive task which needs to satisfy the requirements of a potentially large set of stakeholders, who may have competing vested interests in architectural decisions. A Web based Architectural Knowledge tool has been developed to facilitate the architectural design. This paper aims to highlight the contribution of the new ADUAK (Architectural Development using Architectural Knowledge) tool through a suitable case study.","PeriodicalId":320235,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130826705","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is implemented by un-correlating the MIMO (Multi Input Multi Output) channels between each transmitter-receiver pair so that the transmissions of eNB (evolved Node B) - MUE and HeNB (Home evolved node B) - HUE (Home User Equipment) can happen in different spatial channels. This approach works without the macro-femto coordination and further, no feedback information is required. Our simulation study shows that there is a considerable improvement in signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) at the MUE can be achieved.","PeriodicalId":320235,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123301096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is widely believed that a well-modularized software system is easier to develop and maintain. Typically, a good module structure is regarded as one that has a high degree of cohesion and a low degree of coupling. Automated techniques are used for suggesting software clustering, delimiting boundaries between modules that maximize cohesion while minimizing coupling. Implications of software modularization are considered on many software engineering concerns. Badly modularized software is widely regarded as a source of problems for comprehension, increasing the time for ongoing maintenance and testing. Cohesion and coupling are used to assess module structure. Software module clustering is the problem of automatically organizing software units into modules to improve program structure. There has been a great deal of recent interest in search-based formulations of this problem in which module boundaries are identified by automated search, guided by a fitness function that captures the twin objectives of high cohesion and low coupling in a single-objective fitness function. The system uses multi objective model for module clustering process. The multi-objective approach produces significantly better solutions than the single-objective approach. The proposed system is designed to improve the module clustering process. Multi objective functions with dynamic criteria selection model is used in the system. Module size and communication bandwidth features are used in the objective functions. Feature location is also used in the multi objective functions.","PeriodicalId":320235,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123671945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
