In our rehabilitation center, house remodeling is demonstrated for patients and family members through the use of three-dimensional computer graphic images before the remodeling occurs. We here propose an evaluation system that can show whether there is sufficient space in the remodeled house for a wheelchair to be moved or turned. That space is calculated using a computer graphic image of the house and the specific wheelchair belonging to the patient. Moreover the evaluation system can measure the movement and turn area of the wheelchair.","PeriodicalId":320146,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127951752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This finding implies that from the informatics point of view there is a major conceptual gap between traditional and widely accepted, convolution based image filtering algorithms, and the way visual information is processed by the retina in the eye. The use of traditional filters with non-overlapping operator architectures leads to considerable information losses between centers of filter kernels. This paper introduces a novel model of the eye-retina system that fills the conceptual gap of information processing between the retina and the overlapping (convolution based) architectures used by todays widely adapted algorithms. The proposed computational model takes into consideration data convergence, as well as the dynamic and optical properties of the eye lens. Based on the evaluation of the model, three hypotheses are formulated on the role of the optical precision of the eye-lens and involuntary eye accommodation dynamics.","PeriodicalId":320146,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics","volume":"126 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126927911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In several practical applications there is no human expert based knowledge; the fuzzy model has to be identified from sample data. This paper presents a freely available Matlab toolbox called RuleMaker that supports the automatic generation of a fuzzy model with low complexity. Obviously, when we want to explain the an accuracy between statistic variables caused by fuzzy quantities instead of probable structure, we should create other tools that enable us to estimate uncertain parameters under condition of new structure. Fuzzy linear regression is a method for estimation of fuzzy parameters that can be useful for estimation of relationship between variables, when the number of observations is few and the interaction of those is vague and uncertain. When speak on phrases like quality of life, intelligence quotient, etc., we will find out there is no precise and classic definition and seems that there is not any position for these concepts and tools in determining effective agents in the theorem of classic sets. A result in respect to this prospect and aim of research, we consider the effective agents on quality of life of heart diseases using fuzzy linear regression that has been developed by Tanaka.","PeriodicalId":320146,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126991701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using an input-output linearized model, a systematic design of the long-range predictive current controllers is introduced. The results are compared to the state of the art current controllers, showing the performance of the new controller.","PeriodicalId":320146,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics","volume":"331 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122330681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore the system has to decide on actions taken in case of unforeseen situations. The most complex as well as effective decision making unit that is known, is represented by the human mind. Therefore it seems to be feasible to emulate the human mind in order to design a system for approximating its abilities. While in current Artificial Intelligence a number of generally accepted models, which rely on psychological or neurological theory, are known this paper will introduce a different approach. As a result of the interdisciplinary work of engineers and psychoanalysts a functional model of the human mind has been designed on the base of psychoanalytical theory. As result this work describes the first version of this model in detail and gives an overview on the psychoanalytical theory it relies on.","PeriodicalId":320146,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics","volume":"7 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128421285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
