This study follows a Field Study approach, and it aims to reveal the influence of inheritance when it is used as business capital. The study starts by discussing theoretical debates about inheritance in Islam. Then, it is followed by new construction of inheritance within the Minangkabau tribe. The findings of this study indicate that the management of inheritance into business capital in Minangkabau is a new idea that was never carried out in the past. Furthermore, the productive pattern of inheritance is positively correlated with the economic welfare of a family. Finally, the development of businesses built from inheritance can automatically encourage new Muslim entrepreneurs to compete with other entrepreneurs in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":31932,"journal":{"name":"Millati Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities","volume":"7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78848862","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unsurprisingly, external parties were interested to interfere in this country. As the Cold War raged, a series of conflicts arose, creating the dynamics in the Middles East countries. The conflicts that arose had an enormous effect on the economy of the countries. Many earlier studies have discussed the conflict and its impact and the rivalry of the two blocs of power fighting for influence in Egypt. However, what remains unexplored and draws only little attention among the researchers is how these forces affect the countries like Egypt to become 'competitive arenas'. This study analyzes and explains the influence of the United States in Egypt, specifically in terms of increasing economic liberalization after the Camp David agreement. The results indicated that Camp David accelerated the economic liberalization that Egypt had started in 1974. The increase in economic liberalization in Egypt was mainly driven by the foreign aid provided by the United States as its transnational tool. The strongest evidence of increasing economic liberalization in Egypt is the open-door policy for foreign investment and product exports to Egypt. The Egyptian government had no longer absolute power in regulating the market. Meanwhile, the impact of increasing economic liberalization on society is seen in the consumption and demand for American products. American fast-food companies such as KFC and McDonald's were welcomed among the Egyptian people. ","PeriodicalId":31932,"journal":{"name":"Millati Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80642343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Minority groups such as Moro Muslims in the Philippines, Patani Muslims in Thailand, and Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar have illustrated the government’s minimal role in resolving conflicts between the majority and minorities. Therefore, this paper discusses the Muslim majority and minority groups in several countries and their relationship with the government to implement the practice of religious tolerance. This article uses a library method with a content analysis approach from relevant articles related to the government’s role in implementing religious tolerance practices in Southeast Asia. The study shows that the existence of Islam as a belief of a person and the people who are part of the state and government cannot be separated from one another. In other words, the state’s support for its people of various ethnicity, cultures, and religions will contribute to the peace of the state and the creation of state stability. The position of the majority and minority in the religious process will also influence religious institutions socially, economically, and culturally. Showing the expression of diversity in religious practices in the Southeast Asia region will create a new order in creating peace.","PeriodicalId":31932,"journal":{"name":"Millati Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85232188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The majority of the Muslim community understands that changing munkar by hand is an obligation for the ruler and every individual should not do it as long as there is a ruler. According to Jamal al-Banna, those understanding is to simplify the hadith. This study aims to examine the thoughts of Jamal al-Banna regarding his understanding of change munkar ’s hadith. Then how does understanding the hadith change of munkar from Jamal al-Banna's perspective? How is it relevant to the modern era? Those are the research question that will be answered in this study. This research is a literature study with a literature review approach. The results of this study show that there are several points in the results of Jamal al-Banna's understanding of amar makruf nahi munkar . First, amar makruf nahi munkar is a means legalized by Islam to determine individual participation in the affairs of their society. Second, several verses and hadiths assume that the form of evil that must be changed and even mandatory is the injustice of the ruler. Third, Islam views that amar ma’ruf nahi munkar from one side is the right of every citizen, but from the other side it is an obligation for one. Fourth, Islam views that the means given legality for amar ma’ruf nahi munkar are verbal (with good wisdom and advice). However, Islam does not prohibit individuals from exercising their rights, by using their 'hands' when in an emergency and forced situation.","PeriodicalId":31932,"journal":{"name":"Millati Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities","volume":"212 6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75749370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study focuses on how the interpretation of polygamy according to Kiai Hafidin, its correlation with polygamy that developed in Indonesia, and the religious problems in this country. The approach used is a virtual ethnographic approach (netnography) by applying two analytical models, discourse analysis and hermeneutical analysis. This research shows that the polygamy discourse delivered by Kiai Hafidin is allegedly based on the theological reasoning of QS. al-Nisa’ (4): 3 and 129, and the practice of polygamy by the Prophet Muhammad and his companions, but tends to be apologetic. Moreover, Kiai Hafidin’s polygamy discourse is positioned as resistance to the existing discourse in Indonesia, namely monogamy discourse. For Kiai Hafidin, polygamy is related to marriage and as an alternative to various socio-religious problems; for example, as a solution to the rise of adultery cases, many women are still single, and the depletion of religiously good women. However, apart from this, Kiai Hafidin’s polygamy discourse basically strengthens the interests of patriarchy, which further distances the ideal bond between men and women.","PeriodicalId":31932,"journal":{"name":"Millati Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities","volume":"19 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91264699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reason is that there is a very long interval between the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. with the bookkeeping of hadith, as well as debatable about the concept of sunnah-hadith that is still not finished yet. The method used in this research is descriptive-analysis with a hermeneutic approach. According to Rahman, there is a fundamental difference between the definition of sunnah and hadith. Sunnah is a living tradition in society while hadith is a reportage of sunnah. This research is used library research, namely documentation data. The researcher uses descriptive-analytical method, with a hermeneutic approach. The main points of Rahman's thoughts related to the history of the development of hadith are comprehensive and strict. Then, the hermeneutic approach is used to explain the concepts or theories that are initially unclear related to the concept of sunnah-hadith become clear. The results of this study reveal that Rahman differentiates the concept of sunnah (conceptual sunnah) with the content of sunnah (literal sunnah). The earlier finds absolutes, and the last is more or less dependent (relative). According to Rahman, what distinguishes universal normative principles is the first sunnah. On the other hand, the literal sunnah allows us to understand the logical ratio behind the general principles contained in the conceptual sunnah. Thus, that binds us to obey Rasulullah PBUH, the Messenger of Allah is a conceptual sunnah, not a literal sunnah.","PeriodicalId":31932,"journal":{"name":"Millati Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities","volume":"27 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81034141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This condition cannot be separated from transforming various sectors in people’s lives that make it a prismatic (transitional) society. Therefore, this research seeks to find and understand the basic framework for the socio-cultural transformation of Muhammadiyah and NU communities in society. From the unit of analysis, this study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic research, while the data collection techniques use in-depth interviews, participatory observations, field notes, and documentation. This research uses interactive data analysis by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. This research finds that Muhammadiyah and NU communities have relatively different characteristics. In these three districts, members of Muhammadiyah and NU tend to be stagnant and unaffected by their various oppositional organizational doctrines. However, their socio-cultural transformation occurs triggered by external and internal factors dialectically related to themselves. The implication is that the modernist corporate identity attached to Muhammadiyah and the traditional community identity to NU is relatively irrelevant, especially when there is a progressive and alternating socio-cultural transformation between the two communities.","PeriodicalId":31932,"journal":{"name":"Millati Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities","volume":"53 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81196849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data is primarily based on the combination of primary data from the interview with the guardians of terrorists from eight prisons in Indonesia and secondary data from the open-source internet data. The study finds that the strategy for indoctrinating the Pancasila ideology must consider classifying people’s level of disagreement with the Pancasila ideology, namely: supporter, follower, and militant. Supporters are those who are anti-Pancasila without having any plausible reasons. Therefore, the key to the problem lies in the socialization of Pancasila, which includes the educational and cultural approaches. Followers are anti-Pancasila and have reasons not to like Pancasila but do not show it to the public. Therefore, the key to solving the problem is not only the socialization of Pancasila but also the deconstruction of their understanding of Pancasila. The anti-Pancasila militants have reasons not to like Pancasila and actively promote and oppose Pancasila. The key to responding to it is combining hard and soft approaches in indoctrinating Pancasila.","PeriodicalId":31932,"journal":{"name":"Millati Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77153857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
