Based on the survey and situation analysis, the following problems can be identified: 1) The people of the Mining Village have minimal religious knowledge because the number of religious teachers is still lacking. 2) The education level of the younger generation is low because the interest and ability to continue to a higher level of education is lacking. 3) Agricultural and livestock products are abundant but selling prices are low due to the lack of marketing strategies. As a result, the income of the population is low. The general assumption of this KKN activity is that the target community of KKN will be empowered by the KKN programs offered. The KKN activity program includes: (1) in the religious field, KKN participants provide examples and guidance to the younger generation to become imams of fardu prayers and terawih prayers in mosques and prayer rooms, provide guidance and role models after the terawih prayers and dawn prayers, provide training and role models to become Friday prayer preacher, providing training on teaching reading and writing of the Qur'an at the TPA. 2) in the field of education, KKN participants motivate the younger generation to continue their education to the tertiary level, 3) in the economic field, provide training on processing pure cow's milk into cakes, and provide training on marketing and packaging methods of agricultural products.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46806308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pharmacists should adapt to a child’s level of health understanding to engage children in medication education. Therefore, a pharmacist-led program tailored to children in community settings was initiated in two elementary schools in Gresik, SD Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik and SD Muhammadiyah Manyar. An animated film Apoteker Cilik was shown to students of grade 4, 5, and 6 to promote the proper management of medications in line with the national campaign DAGUSIBU and to acquaint with the roles of pharmacists. A short questionnaire consisting of six questions related to medication use and safety (how to get, use, store, and dispose medicines) was utilized to assess the level of children’s knowledge. There was a significant difference between levels of knowledge before and after the program (p < 0.05) although some schoolchildren already had good baseline knowledge of medications. This local initiative may contribute to improving medication awareness, so more educational programs using colourful visuals and interactive games may be conducted with this vulnerable population as children will bring their medication-taking behaviour throughout their adult lives.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45908843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Colourful artwork and painted murals have made them popular tourist spots that attract 150 tourists per day on average, which helps boost the local economy. However, both kampongs are still lacking sanitation service. Blackwater and greywater generated from inhabitants’ activities are directly dumped into the Brantas River, negatively impacting water quality. A workshop was organized to increase the participants’ awareness of environmental issues, particularly in water resource sustainability, and obtain a commitment to adopt constructed wetlands as sustainable, nature-based solutions for wastewater treatment. Two types of the questionnaire (pretest and posttest) were distributed to 50 participants to identify perception differences generated through the workshop. A digital game and a 3D simulation were developed to educate the participants on constructed wetlands as wastewater treatment systems in fun, attractive, and effective ways. Participants’ awareness of environmental issues in water resources increased from 67% to 76%, and the workshop had motivated the participants to adopt constructed wetlands in their neighbourhood.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43546054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ginger farmers in Genteng Kulon village, Banyuwangi Regency, are one of the communities affected by COVID-19. Since COVID-19 came, the price of chemical fertilizers has remained expensive, and the price of ginger is very high, up to IDR 90.000 per kg, so ginger farmers need a new affordable alternative fertilizer. Fostering the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer from banana stem waste is the right option to help ginger farmers meet their fertilizer needs and make it efficient in using available waste. The method used in this community development was through the Community Service Program consisting of various activities: training on the production of liquid organic fertilizer; packaging; labeling; and application to ginger plants. The success of this program was evidenced by the level of farmers’ understanding of the procedure being taught, which was assessed using a questionnaire. The results showed that the farmers’ understanding of the material being taught significantly increased as compared with that before they were educated. The percentages of average understanding of the training material for liquid organic fertilizer, packaging, labeling, and application were 75%, 80%, 80%, and 85% respectively. These numbers were very different from those representing the farmers’ knowledge before the training. These average percentages were 15.5%, 14%, 16.5%, and 11.5%. Therefore, this program was successful in providing new knowledge to farmers in the production of liquid organic fertilizer.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43615978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, during the Covid-19 pandemic, activities that are usually carried out in a closed room were forced to undergo changes, namely requiring cadres to pick up the ball to the target object, so that toddlers do not lose their rights to support growth at their golden age as well as anticipate stunting. The aim is to examine juridically related to efforts to fulfill children's health rights, on the elements of compatibility of weight and height, nutritional adequacy, emotional stability, and so on, even though the situation has limitations. The method used to review the implementation of the Mobile Posyandu is through a legal approach (juridish approach) as a material for monitoring the accuracy of the program with policies determined by the Regional Government, and a case approach (case approach) as an evaluation material for the success of activities related to the intended final achievement. As a result, juridically, the implementation of the Mobile Posyandu is very much in accordance with the provisions of the Health Protocol, which does not require toddlers and pregnant women to meet face-to-face with many people, but monitoring their health, including the anticipation of stunting, is still carried out by cadres who move from house to house, so as to minimize the risk of stunting. Covid-19 transmission. Meanwhile, socially, the presence of cadres to the homes of children under five is clear evidence that health services for children under five are still a concern of the Regional Government in addition to being busy dealing with the pandemic. Thus, Mobile Posyandu can be a strategic alternative model in an effort to provide health services for toddlers, without deviating from the applicable laws and regulations.
