As a strategic program to keep the Bedog River sustainable, the riparian vegetation conservation program was implemented on the school community in the Godean Region, Sleman, Yogyakarta started at SMPIT Alam Nurul Islam. This program aims to provide mutual awareness as well as a good and complete understanding of the dynamic balance between human life and the river environment as well as strategic steps for riparian vegetation conservation efforts that need to be carried out. To achieve the program aims, three approaches were implemented, i.e. (1) developing SMPIT Alam Nurul Islam Yogyakarta as a pioneer of the school community concern in the conservation of riparian vegetation, (2) disseminating awareness to river conservation through efforts to preserve riparian vegetation to the school community, and (3) the involvement of all parties in the preservation of riparian vegetation as a key system of river conservation. A series of activities were successfully carried out including: learning and research exercises on riparian vegetation profiles, implementation of \"riparian class\" equipped with learning modules, holding several focus group discussions with teachers and communities around the Bedog river, introduction to river bio-monitoring for students, and \"river care\" activities by cleaning out trash and outbound. As a program outcome, ESD-based learning on riparian vegetation conservation is included in the biology subject at SALYO particularly in practical work. Also, there are efforts to use the communal land next to the school as an educational forest along with riparian vegetation conservation land.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44772627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new management seeks apartner to restore and run the business. The \"Dosen IPB Mengabdi\" program in BUMDes Cibadak Mandiri aims to assist management in analyzing and evaluating previous management problems, determining business priorities, and motivating new management. The method used in analyzing the problem was a fishbone diagram with a participatory approach and used the brainstorming approach to determine priority business. Management, business unit leaders, and local participants attended the activity. The six main issues found were a need for more capability of human resources, capital, business partner responsibilities, unstructured organization/management, nonperforming loan, and lack of market understanding. Several alternatives were proposed by participants, such as gathering/workshops, training, looking for committed people, investors, and open recruiting volunteers. At the same time, the business priorities that should be carried out are karst mountain tourism, distribution and management of clean water (PAM), and bottled drinking water (AMDK). The methods were conducted to raise awareness of the new board and the role of related stakeholders, especially agreements in describing problems, alternative solutions, and choices of BUMDes business priorities. These processes give valuable insight into the current state of management to reactivate of BUMDes and alternatives action to tackle this situation.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42869775","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Activities in traditional markets decreased due to restricted operating time and people movement. Traders should use online transactions to reach potential consumers. Expanding market segments is also necessary to target the younger generation who regularly use online transactions. Unluckily, traders were not well-trained in online transactions. This activity was aimed to encourage well-implemented online transaction services by traditional market traders in Sleman Regency. Four measures were taken: 1) identifying conditions of traders, 2) formulating online transaction models for traders and potential consumers, 3) online transaction training, and 4) Disseminating/promoting online transaction services. A survey was done in 22 of 37 markets to identify market conditions. Collected data were analysed using the interactive model. Formulated online transaction model includes offer, order, payment and delivery of products. Traders in 25 markets received the training. Service marketing activities include publications on social media, data presentation of markets and traders on Google Maps page, and webinar. All activities were conducted under the tagline \"LOPIS (Layanan Online Pasar Ing Sleman)\", which means Online Services by Traditional Markets in Sleman Regency. Monitoring is planned for three months after the training is conducted. However, this monitoring could not be carried out due to a significant increase in Covid-19 cases, hence the limitation of this community service activity.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46487672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has had a negative impact on the operations of businesses in the mining industry in South Africa. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore CE challenges in the South African mining sector, to understand the dynamics and factors affecting the peaceful equilibrium between the relevant stakeholder groups using CE best practices. The study used qualitative research methods where semi-structured interviews, as well as focus group discussion, was conducted among different stakeholders who were selected purposefully. Data were thematically analysed using the Atlasti software programme. The following themes were identified: Anglo social way, CE approaches, CE structures, guiding policies, terms of references and municipality framework. It was recommended that community members need to be educated about how the mine interacts with the community, its activities, and their participation.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43296318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This phenomena causes soil erosion and crop failure, which reduces the income of the Pitu local community. A rehabilitation strategy is required to resolve this issue, not only for the recovery of the riverbanks but also for the enhancement of the local community’s revenue. The objective of this community activity is to educate the public about the use of bamboo species in riverbank restoration (Dendrocalamus asper). Bamboo is selected because it has both ecological and socioeconomic benefits. This project was conducted between March and September of 2022 on the Grojogan riverbanks, Bengawan Solo River, Desa Pitu. This exercise utilized Focus Group Discussion, lecture, and practice or training as its methods. The population of Desa Pitu might simply adopt bamboo species and cultivate them along riverbanks. The community and the community service team from the Silviculture Department planted 1,000 bamboo seedlings. The survival rate of bamboo plantations exceeded eighty percent, and new shoots grew swiftly (5 - 15 cm for 5 months). Training in bamboo growing and bamboo product processing improved their skills well. The community generates bamboo seedlings successfully through vegetative propagation. In addition, three local communities in Cebongan, Sleman, and Yogyakarta participated in a four-day bamboo processing training program. They were also producing some tables, chairs, and handicrafts with success (woven bamboo).","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48712053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ecoutourism is managed by the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) Medokan Ayu. The management carried out is still conventional and before the Covid-19 pandemic, the level of tourist visits on the weekends was quite high, with around 100 more visitors. Pokdarwis Medokan Ayu faced problems when the Covid-19 pandemic hit. The number of visitors to Medokan Ayu Mangrove Botanical Garden has decreased by almost 90% especially on weekends. The solution to this problem is the promotion of the Medokan Ayu Mangrove Botanical Gardens online through the Pokdarwis.id website. Community service acitivities are carried out using training methods. The training activities include four stages, namely coordination with partners, training, mentoring and evaluation. The training activities took place twice and were carried out offline. The first training is related to website operation., and the second training is calendar content creation and copywriting. Based on the results of the activity evaluation, several Pokdarwis administrators were able to operate the Pokdarwis website. Some administrators can manage the Pokdarwis website and realize the importance of online promotion supported by interesting and selling content. The benefits of the training increased the creativity of Pokdarwis management in the management of the Medokan Ayu Mangrove Botanical Gardens. Based on the results of the evaluation through filling out questionnaires by some training participants, the implementation of community service activities received a positive response, and community service team continued to provide assistance related to website management such as suggestions submitted by partners.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68038940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The findings show that mangrove forests in Kampung Laut’s coastal region, particularly in the village of Ujung Alang, are still well preserveddue to diverse mangrove planting efforts. Currently, the community uses mangrove plants by converting some plant sections into food and using the plant’s stems as building materials. Efforts have been made to preserve mangrove forest ecosystems through the Sustainable Utilization of Mangrove Forests for the Production of Natural Dyes with a Zero Waste System. The following are the activities: 1) Dissemination of the concept to raise public awareness of the potential of mangrove plants as a source of raw materials for natural dyes to increase community income and sustainably manage mangrove forests; 2) Raising the awareness of the younger generation to improve the local economy through the development of micro-scale SMEs in the field of mangrove-based natural dyes; and 3) Technical training on thinning/logging and sustainable mangrove planting to acquaint participants with the concepts of thinning/logging and sustainable man Establish the program’s purpose, which should be divided into six activities. Many farmer groups anticipate that this community service under the auspices of Krida Wana Lestari will assist them in improving their existing products and estimating the potential process of their natural mangroves. This program raises public awareness of the mangrove plant’s potential as a source of raw materials for natural colours. In addition, this activity enables the community to do technical logging and sustainable mangrove planting to support the availability of raw materials for natural dyes. Consequently, the creation and development of a local economic business unit with a green entrepreneurship incubator model based on mangrove conservation and zero waste from natural dye SMEs have begun.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44570338","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The existence of adolescent promiscuity, inadequate knowledge of adolescents about HIV/AIDS, and lack of communication with parents on adolescent reproductive health are some related factors to the increased number of adolescents infected with sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS. Based on these situations, providing health education to adolescents is an alternative solution. The activities were carried out by implementing health education for teenage girls, conducted in four sessions. All sessions were held online, with interactive discussion methods, role play and demonstrations. A total of 18 adolescent girls participated in this activity. The final results showed that there is an increasing mean score of post-test on HIV knowledge (0.5), adolescent reproductive health (0.44), and self-esteem (0.39). There are no significant different between pre and post-test for the level of knowledge on HIV, adolescent reproductive health, adolescent risk behavior and self-esteem. Only risky behavior does not demonstrate an increase in the mean score. Providing health education to teenage girls has improved their knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS and adolescent reproductive health and increased adolescent self-esteem. However, these activities did not affect the score of teens’ behavior change. It was due to the duration of health education was not sufficient to change their behavior.","PeriodicalId":31596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42617379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
