The FSS element structure is designed for thin RAM coating, and the electromagnetic wave reflectivity performance of RAM containing FSS is analyzed by using the numerical simulation. The influence of FSS design parameters on the reflectivity of RAM is researched, and the FSS design parameters include the element geometry parameter, the length of the array periods, and the permittivity of substrate material. The research results show that the three absorbing wide-bands can appear and that the reflectivity is lower than -10dB, so the wide-band stealth performance of RAM containing FSS can be improved at the frequency range from 2GHz to 12GHz.","PeriodicalId":315697,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Workshop on Metamaterials (Meta)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114587718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, precession model of a general target is built, and the attitude formulas of elevation and azimuth are derived respectively. On the basis of the static electromagnetic scattering data, a scheme is proposed to simulate the dynamic echo of an arbitrary precession target by using the quasi-static method. Its validity is verified by the experiment results, and the RCS sequences and micro-Doppler signatures of two representative targets are analyzed based on the simulated echo.","PeriodicalId":315697,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Workshop on Metamaterials (Meta)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121626801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By placing a sub-wavelength composite layer consisting of dielectric and metallic stripes on top of the metallic one, we found that the back-scattering from the metallic film can be almost perfectly canceled by the composite layer under certain conditions, leading to transparency of the whole structure. Since our mechanism does not require any openings on the opaque metallic plate, the proposed structure retains the full electric and mechanical properties of a natural metal. The present mechanism is insensitive to structural disorders and broad variation of incidence angles. Meanwhile, we performed proof-of-concept experiments in the terahertz domain to verify our theoretical predictions, using carefully designed metamaterials to mimic plasmonic metals in optical regime. Experiments are in excellent agreements with full-wave simulations.","PeriodicalId":315697,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Workshop on Metamaterials (Meta)","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114056185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As is one of types of invisibility cloaks, carpet cloaks were first presented by Pendry in 2008. However, most of the realized carpet cloaks in microwave region can only conceal the metal bump under TM-polarized incident wave because non-magnetism is required in the realization of the carpet cloak. Here, we demonstrate a Te-polarized microwave broadband carpet cloak based on the Tranformation Optics. Closed-rings, which are used to construct cloaking layer, can provide anisotropic permeability with little dispersion in a large frequency range required in our design. The cloaking behavior is confirmed in our measurements from 2-7 GHz.","PeriodicalId":315697,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Workshop on Metamaterials (Meta)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128765814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These forces show the resonant frequencies similar to the magnetic resonant frequencies in the double negative index fishnet metamaterial. We also present that the optical force can be enhanced by optimizing the geometry of the fishnet to provide a stronger magnetic resonant dipole. In contrast to the other plasmonic nanostructure always obtaining trapping force using electrical resonant dipole, our presented structure utilizes the magnetic resonance to provide a gradient force, which is suitable for the optical trapping of the nanoscale particles at illumination intensities of just 1mW/μm2, the optical force is sufficient to overcome the Earth's gravitational pull.","PeriodicalId":315697,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Workshop on Metamaterials (Meta)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128068351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the far-field data arranged in the polar format, a 2-D Fourier transform can achieve the image reconstruction. But the data do not fall on a Cartesian grid, we introduce 2-D Nonuniform Fast Fourier Transform (NUFFT) to reconstruct the SAR image directly. It is the first time to use NUFFT technology in SAR image reconstruction. Instead of interpolating the input data, NUFFT interpolate the exponential function for each sampling point. The technology could easily extended to high dimensional by tensor product. The 2-D NUFFT is very suitable to reconstruct SAR image. A ground target example will shown to demonstrate that the reconstructed images have higher resolution than the general method when using the same data.","PeriodicalId":315697,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Workshop on Metamaterials (Meta)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130206238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
