Some of these systems try to find means of interaction free from the use of additional devices (keyboards, controllers or wearables), these are referred to as Touch Free Interfaces. Nevertheless, some activities are limited because of the design of current interfaces, such is the case of text entry, which isn't efficient when it's done using a QWERTY keyboard within a Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality environment. This paper proposes the use and evaluation of an interface which makes it easier to entry text on these systems through the movements of the hands.","PeriodicalId":314441,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th Mexican Conference on Human-Computer Interaction","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125223456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research, it is proposed to develop a serious game with the implementation of a Fuzzy Logic system to strengthen mathematical logical reasoning with the support of experts, using Design Thinking methodology, which consists of empathizing with the user needs to design a user profile, succeeding in creating and selecting ideas that best fit the solution of the problem, with the aim to develop prototypes for their evaluation and obtaining more information about the solution of the same. Subsequently, the experience of users with the serious game and the impact on mathematical logical reasoning when using it will be evaluated.","PeriodicalId":314441,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th Mexican Conference on Human-Computer Interaction","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122950433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experimentation with the Visual Paired Comparison Task has been mainly conducted with commercial high-performance eye trackers and different experimental setup constraints. Recent research has shown that a web camera-based eye tracking can gather useful data with the Visual Paired Comparison Task. The ubiquitous web camera gives different possibilities for pervasive mental health assessment. We conducted a preliminary study where participants are not only observers in the Visual Paired Comparison Task, but they can interact with the system by moving over displayed images at their own pace. We collected data from 23 participants using a web camera based eye tracker. We discuss the novelty preference from participants that are only observers and with participants that can freely advance through the images.","PeriodicalId":314441,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th Mexican Conference on Human-Computer Interaction","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117196099","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, today, the application of psychometric tests for the identification of attention problems takes place when children already have symptoms, or problems associated with the development of their learning. So, an early detection in the preschool age is of vital importance for their optimal development. The use of serious games and interactive interfaces for the detection and therapy of problems related to learning has helped to obtain better results according to the studies analyzed in the related work. In this work we propose proposed to identify deficiencies in cognitive functions for preschool children, using a serious game and a control interface that provides a natural interaction. Following the first stages of the experimental research methodology, the methodology of soft systems, the incremental model of software development and the rapid contextual design technique, a prototype of interactive interface was obtained and the proposal of a serious game with the necessary characteristics for performing tests to detect deficiencies in cognitive functions.","PeriodicalId":314441,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th Mexican Conference on Human-Computer Interaction","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133505087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To design a technology-based intervention that support the formation of medication habits, we conducted a case study to understand how seniors integrate their medication routine into their daily routines, and how their daily activities are used as contextual cues. We conclude that applications should support the selection of contextual cues by considering the consistency and variability of seniors' activities. We present a conceptual design of a mobile application that supports the formulation of medication habits by recommending contextual cues based on the consistency and variability of seniors' activities.","PeriodicalId":314441,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th Mexican Conference on Human-Computer Interaction","volume":"594 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123175279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
