Athletes; 13 athletes with a mean age of 16.00±0.707 years in the control group (CG) and 17 athletes with a mean age of 16.05±0.747 years in the experimental group (EG) were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group was given TRX suspension training for 8 weeks with routine basketball training (3 days/week), a total training time of 45 minutes. The control group only did routine basketball training. Pre-tests of 2 groups of 30 athletes (leg extension leg curl, push-ups, sit-ups, (20 m) sprint, vertical jump and agility were taken at the end of 8 weeks before the exercises. Fully repeated measures ANOVA were used to make separate comparisons for the pre and post-measurements in the 8-week training sessions for the experimental and control training groups.Pre- and post-measurements of the groups were compared.; According to the analysis of the data, a significant difference was observed in the values of leg extension, leg curl, push-ups, sit-ups and vertical jump tests (p < 0.05). In the comparison between the groups (20m), significant difference was observed between sprint and agilityt test values (p > 0.05).However, TRX suspension training has shown that it can better improve leg curl, push-ups, sit-ups, and vertical jump performances in basketball players’ objects.","PeriodicalId":314203,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational Issues","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121377165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the controversial topics is the 10.000-hour rule. Indeed, in the book of Malcolm Gladwell entitled “Outliers: The story of success”, the question of “Is the 10.000-hour rule a general rule for success?” is present as a discussion question.It is a problem for scientists to set off from rules rather than theories in the scientific discussions and research related to sportive issues. This situation manifests itself in the subjective measurement of events, phenomena, and objects that should be measured objectively in the first place. In this respect, it is important to identify and describe the issues that harm the scientific perspective of sports.In this regard, the fact that the 10.000-hour rule for success put forward by Malcolm Gladwell is advocated by some sportspeople increases the significance of this study. Therefore, the aim of this study was to make a scientific analysis of the 10.000-hour rule and examine the perspectives of sportspeople. In addition to this, whether the 10.000-hour rule, which has been accepted by limited circles in sports culture, is a myth or not was discussed epistemologically. Document analysis was performed in this descriptive study.As a result, it was determined that the 10.000-hour rule was expressed by limited circles in sports culture and that it had no scientific value. It is recommended to act in accordance with theories and models rather than rules while evaluating sportive events, phenomena, and objects.","PeriodicalId":314203,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational Issues","volume":"558 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115102850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this reason, our study aims to examine elite athletes’ sleep quality and social media addiction. There are three parts to the research. The first part consists of demographic information. In the second part, the social media addiction scale was used. This scale was developed by Firat and Barut (2018). In the third part, the athlete sleep behavior scale was used. The athlete sleep behavior scale was developed by Driller, Mah, and Halson (2018) and adapted into Turkish by Darendeli, Diker, and Cinar (2019). The research consists of 412 participants collected by convenience sampling method. In the study, MANOVA and correlation analysis were performed after Cronbach alpha, and Skewness-Kurtosis values were checked with the SPSS program. According to the results of the research, a negative relationship was found between habitual sleep quality and sleep disorder. This result shows that while increasing sleep disturbance decreases habitual sleep quality, decreasing sleep disturbance increases habitual sleep quality.","PeriodicalId":314203,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational Issues","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123208417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among these tools, we can mention a desktop computer, a printer, a scanner, a projection device, a smart phone, a portable computer also called as laptop, glasses for simulation, and a wearable measuring device such as a polar clock. Through these tools, it is also easier to evaluate the educational activity performed.Digital sports can be defined as sports that are produced, performed and evaluated in an electronic environment. In this context, digital sports means changing and transforming all kinds of modern information about sports, scientific and philosophical views, theories and concepts related to technology. Digital sports, which contains more than one understanding of sports and technical narration about sports, questions the interaction of the sportsperson with his environment and technology, especially with himself.Therefore, a digital sport, as in every newly developing perspective on sports, is supported in a broad context by long-term studies that select multiple perspectives. One of these studies is mental training study in which the basic principles of cinema therapy are applied. Mental training is one of the trainings made using technological opportunities in sports. This training is carried out by making sports people, especially athletes, watch movies or scenes from movies, in line with the principles of cinema therapy, with the help of a computer and a projection device.The main purpose of this study is to consider cinema therapy in mental (psychosocial) training education as an example of digitalization in sports. As a data collection method, the data compiled were blended from sources in different fields such as digital technology, sociology, psychology, sports sociology, sports psychology and psychiatry. It is thought that this study, which is one of the rare studies on the subject, will be an example for similar studies in the future.","PeriodicalId":314203,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational Issues","volume":"136 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124259233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Descriptive survey model was used in the research. The research was applied on 240 students playing football in 1st amateur football league, Ordu. The ‘Risk Assessment Scale’ developed by Karataş (2012) was used as a data collection tool. The scale scores of the groups according to the independent variables were compared with the student t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey multiple comparison tests for unrelated samples in parametric data, and the Kruskal Wallis-H test and the Mann Whitney-U test with Bonferroni correction for non-parametric data. According to the results of the analysis, it was determined that the risk perception and evaluation levels of students differed significantly according to the variables of marital status, number of children, education level, family income level, place of birth and sports year (p < 0.05). However, it was determined that the risk assessment levels of the students did not differ significantly according to age, father and mother education level variables (p > 0.05). The findings reveal that the decrease in the monthly income level increases the risk perception levels of the students in the sports life. In addition, it was determined that as the education level of the students increased, their tendency to take risks also increased. According to the results of the research, it can be stated that the level of perceiving and analyzing risks of experienced students is higher than those of less experienced students.","PeriodicalId":314203,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational Issues","volume":"27 21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114353693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
