Next to different rooms belonging to the pars rustica, a torcularium has been located including a calcatorium or press space, a lacus or reception sink and a counterweight that is aimed to activate a beam and windlass press. At this site, there have been identified stages of building and refurbishment that show a long occupation in time. All the documentation and materials registered give us a chronology from the end of the 1st century AD to the end of the 4th or early 5th century. Los Palacios has become a site with outstanding interest, because it is the first centre of wine production at this scale that has been found in the area of the province of Madrid.","PeriodicalId":31419,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma Serie I Prehistoria y Arqueologia","volume":"6 1","pages":"345-380"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5944/ETFI.6.2013.11830","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71265564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The vicus of Puente Castro has similar characteristics to that located in the northern borders of the Roman Empire. The road from the camp towards the southeast is the backbone of the vicus. This is dated from the mid first century AD until the central decades of third century AD, when it suffers a violent destruction. We present here four Roman linen fragments found in the vicus of Puente Castro, belonging to a moneybag. It has been preserved precisely by the metal salts in contact with the coin hoard. The analysis of one of the fragments confirm the use of flax and hemp in the fabrication of this textile. The date of the coins allow us to maintain in the mid third Century AD the chronology of the textile fragments. Linens make up a small proportion of the textile corpus in Hispania. This find increases this reduced archaeological evidence of Roman textiles.","PeriodicalId":31419,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma Serie I Prehistoria y Arqueologia","volume":"6 1","pages":"327-344"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5944/ETFI.6.2013.11224","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71265177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This oppidum has been revealed as a producer and spreading centre of Iberian pottery. Through the analysis and interpretation of these pieces, as well as the references obtained from other sites in the Iberian Peninsula and the Middle East, we are able to confirm that two of these findings correspond to the same potter’s wheel. As a result, we could take into account this fact as an exceptional circumstance, because, so far, we only know about some scattered pieces taken out of context in the Iberian Peninsula. Consequently, we have maybe found the first complete protohistoric slow potter’s wheel dating from around the third century BC.","PeriodicalId":31419,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma Serie I Prehistoria y Arqueologia","volume":"6 1","pages":"301-326"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5944/etfi.6.2013.11628","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71265937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the centre of this area the necropolis of Los Algarbes is located (Tarifa, Cadiz), the target of the present study, which is located in a geographically speaking highly interesting space since it is close to the Strait of Gibraltar, a border territory between two continents and two seas, whose proximity was more a cause of union than it was of separation in those days. In this way, it favoured the contact between different cultural realities from Prehistory, turning the funerary world into one of the best indicators of these contacts, display and mixture of the different beliefs and survival of the religious and symbolic manifestations.","PeriodicalId":31419,"journal":{"name":"Espacio Tiempo y Forma Serie I Prehistoria y Arqueologia","volume":"6 1","pages":"199-219"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5944/ETFI.6.2013.11169","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71265483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

En el se ha podido documentar, a partir de las dataciones absolutas y el estudio de los materiales ceramicos, una secuencia cronologica que se situa entre el Calcolitico y el siglo XIII d.C. En este trabajo se exponen los datos arqueologicos y paleoambientales correspondientes a las diferentes fases de ocupacion. The settlement of Cornia Nou is situated in the eastern side of Minorca. A long chronological sequence in this site, dated from the Chalcolithic to the 13th century AD, has been recorded based on radiocarbon dating and the typological study of the ceramics.
