Hence, a digital phase-equalizer (PE) is required for equalizing the nonlinear phase. This paper reveals that a PE resulting from the quadratic-cone programming (QConeP) can be further enhanced through adopting a further step by using nonlinear optimization. This is a two-process optimization technique. In this paper, we first formulate and review the QConeP-based PE design, which is an approximated QConeP formulation, and then show that the PE coefficients obtained from QConeP design can be regarded as a good starting point for the further nonlinear optimization. Therefore, this two-process optimization technique combines both QConeP optimization and nonlinear optimization. However, the existing researches of MIMO and pre-coder focus on the spectrum efficiency under the Gaussian input assumption. This drawback limits the pre-coder technology application in the green communication. In order to overcome this shortage, we studies the energy efficiency of MIMO system in the time-varying channel based on the time-delay ability of the communication service under the equal probability finite-alphabet input assumption which is more likely to the digital communication signal. Furthermore, a feasible pre-coder algorithm based on the stochastic dynamic program is proposed. The algorithm aims at finding core nodes for the directed graph which are subset of communities and have higher contact frequency. These are then extended to find communities using compactness measurement (CM). The compactness of a node to the community is defined as the ratio of the outward degree of the node to the community to that of the total out degree of that node. Another approach that will be used to extend communities around core nodes is based on similarity measurement (SM) - two nodes are said to be similar if they share more mutual neighbours. We are able to achieve a success rate of 70% when CM is used and about 10–15% with SM based expansion method. In this paper, a more general application scene that presents new challenges for stateful forwarding is considered. The network element needs to keep states of previously forwarded packets to determine the forwarding behavior of subsequent packets. We are devoted to keeping states efficiently based on Protocol Oblivious Forwarding (POF), which is an enhancement to current OpenFlow-based SDN forwarding architecture. Specifically, we propose using Linear-Match table to keep states (LMKS) considering the performance and potential scalability. As the virtual backbone of WSN, connected dominating set (CDS) plays an important role in supporting data communication, reducing routing overhead and enhancing the scalability of the network. Attribute to the rapid development of microprocessor and electronic technology, communication radius of sensor nodes can be changed accordingly to save the energy consumption. In this paper, we take the adjustable radius feature of WSN into consideration and propose an efficient distributed CDS construction algorithm, namely Power Selection Algorithm (PSA), to optimize the CDS construction based on local information. The region terms derived from weighted cross-entropy play major role to locate object boundary and the boundary term derived from direct detection of image gradient plays supplementary role for promotion of segmentation accuracy. Moreover, the numeric method used provides good numeric accuracy. Usually, it is totally irrelative with key distribution protocol. From this point of view, we introduce a novel mutual identity authentication scheme on the basis of measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution (MDI-QKD) protocol, which utilizes the monogamous property of the Bell states. As a result, our proposed protocol can achieve identity authentication and key distribution in one round. Besides, we merge the estimation of error rate into the processing of identity authentication, it can make MDI-QKD more efficient. What's more, according to the simulation result, the protocol can work well in a noisy environment. Cloud computing supports virtual machines (VMs) to host multiple applications simultaneously. Balancing the large numbers of applications in the heterogeneous cloud environment becomes challenging as the hypervisor scheduling controls all VMs. When the scheduler allocates tasks to the overloaded VMs, the performance of the cloud system degrades. In this paper, we present a novel load balancing approach to organizing the virtualized resources of the data center efficiently. In our approach, the load to a VM scales up and down according to the resource capacity of the VM. The proposed scheme minimizes the makespan of the system, maximizes resource utilization and reduces the overall energy consumption. In this paper, we study survivability strategies to alleviate the effect of disasters to telecom networks, e.g., Wavelength-Division-Multiplexing (WDM) optical networks, and propose a reliability-sustainable survivability (RSS) scheme to recover the impacted (disrupted or currently not disrupted but the reliability decreased beyond a given threshold) connections with some degree of reliability and/or bandwidth guarantee. According to service-differentiated reliability and bandwidth thresholds, RSS first (re)routes the primary paths and/or adds secondary paths to sustain the reliability of connections, then (re)distributes the bandwidth of connections to optimize resource utilization.
