Providing IT support for joint clinical decision making in an open and distributed environment raises some challenges that are worth our attention: 1) new clinical evidence and guidelines, published by healthcare authorities and subject to continuous revision, need to be shared and enacted by the care team, as automatically as possible, 2) clinical specialists, located in their own working environments, need to be able to group together wherever necessary, 3) decision points, distributed in the environment, need to refer consistently the same set of guidelines and unless these are well-coordinated across the care team, safe delivery of care will be hard to guarantee. In this paper we propose an open and adaptive agent architectural model to resolve these challenges. This is based on an Agent-oriented Model Driven Architecture and a decision support management model, which are integrated to support joint clinical decision-making.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121759687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

System integration generally means accessing, sharing and exchanging data among applications. This data sharing can be achieved by implementing interfaces for communication and data exchange, and services for all the applications to be integrated. However, this solution requires a large amount of human resources for software development and refactoring. Here, a novel framework is proposed for data integration that makes the process much simpler by generating all the source code needed for querying data of an integrated system. The proposed framework is based on two ontology mediators, namely, a local ontology generated for the data source to be integrated, and a global or central ontology for the common query interface. This way, the integration process is reduced to finding automatically or semi-automatically the mapping between the concepts of local and global ontologies. If this semantic matching is performed, then all the predefined SPARQL queries of global ontology will be rewritten automatically to queries belonging to data sources to be integrated. Hence, the differences between the systems to be integrated will appear just in the DAO (Data Access Object) layer that is generated according to the ontology alignments. The proposed integration technique does not need any program coding in practice (only visual concept matching has to be done semi-automatically), so the productivity of integration software development can be improved significantly. To demonstrate our concept, our novel framework is applied to real-world integration tasks. In this paper, the framework, methodology, experiences and some measurements relating to the productivity will be presented and discussed.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133952780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Low quality data is expressed in terms of large number of gaps and outliers in the data stream. These drawbacks can be caused by different reasons (e.g. devices faults, loss connections) but just-in-time detection of these cases is the mandatory step for further data handling. This paper describes an on-line and off-line pipeline-based architecture of a system for gaps and outlier detection in energy data streams. As decision making process is limited by time, it is proposed to split the data mining mechanism for gaps and outlier detection in real-time mode(on-line pipeline) from the adjustment mechanism of on-line pipeline's parameters (off-line pipeline). Each pipeline contains the sequence of filters for data handling. Filters in the on-line pipeline use only last input fraction of data. In contrast, filters in the off-line pipeline use all data stored in the data base. The results indicate that the proposed architecture allows to perform real-time gaps and outlier detection with the desired quality and constant latency despite increasing volume of data.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130713878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are modern approaches that may make the education process easier and more appealing. A remarkably promising example of this is the use of computer games in the teaching and learning process. We suggest a methodology of two-fold use of learning games for teaching software engineers. Students, experienced in programming, develop learning games, and then we use the games that are developed for teaching the next generation of students. After gaining skills in basic subjects these students are involved in the development of new learning games. Teachers in our department play the role of customer, as they are interested in getting new effective tools for teaching and are ready to participate in our work. Students developing games learn all the software development life cycle phases including testing, deployment and maintenance, they contact real customers (teachers of corresponding subjects) and real users (students, learning these subjects). Student teams have developed several games that are used for teaching new students. Students, who participated in game development, gained such important professional skills as software design, testing, debugging and development, working with open source libraries, version controls systems, other modern tools and domain-specific programming languages. Students were also trained in soft skills such as team working, project management, and conflict resolution. Teachers, using games as learning systems, notice an improvement in students' motivation in learning and their will to be involved into the learning process. Our experience of using computer games shows that this approach is very effective for improving students' skills and motivation to study.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133273984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our goal is to formalize these interdependencies, to detect potential conflicts and to propose solution patterns on both, the organizational and the architectural side. The prerequisite for that is a meta-model which captures the organizational context and supports a bidirectional tracing to architectural elements. The range of architecture-relevant influence factors differs on a project-by-project basis, therefore the meta-model needs to be adaptable. For the given purpose, this work provides a goal-oriented approach. GRL is a suitable notation to model organizational dependency-structures. Architectural deliverables, the means for their realization and the involved contributors, are represented in a three-layered GRL-based basic-model. The project-specific adaption is attained by the utilization of expansion-models which cover particular organizational viewpoints like the aforementioned skill profiles. Our work is based on our experience and exemplary applications in a joint research project and in an ongoing e-commerce project.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115409228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main differences between these devices and traditional PCs is that we always carry our phone with us, which allows a new family of application areas called Location-Based Services (LBS). Currently the functionality of a typical LBS is limited to pinpointing the location of the user and attach this information to a post, or list places near him. However the constant tracking of geographical position allows creating more complex and sophisticated services. Our research focuses on mining patterns of human movement, machine learning repeating tracks and leveraging this database in various ways. In this paper we introduce a novel method which offers the best times and locations for a group of people to meet in person, based on their movement habits. The biggest value of our algorithm is that the number of participants is not limited, while most existing methods works for exactly two users.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116869429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thanks to availability of different multi-core processors, many parallelization tools and techniques emerged. However, majority of them rely on the shared memory architecture model, where data to multiple core processors is simply accessible. In this paper we present a simple hardware abstraction that targets features of a multi-core DSP processor with distributed memory architecture, aiming support for program parallelization. Both manual and automatic code parallelization approaches can use library routines described in this paper. By validating performance of multiple manually created test cases we demonstrate capabilities of presented approach. Performance is estimated by measuring time necessary for DMA data transfer between the cores using GPIO pins attached to the DSP. In addition, earlier developed C code parallelization technique for the same DSP is extended to use this library providing full working solution verified on real hardware.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116991352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such a mobile based distributed architecture offers significant advantages in several scenarios from the perspective of both users and network operators. In these situations, a certain redundancy must be built into the system because the availability of the nodes can vary greatly. The goal of this paper is to present a methodology to minimize the necessary redundancy by predicting the number of available nodes. The prediction is performed in two steps, first an estimation is done locally at the node level, then a centralized aggregation is executed. We propose a hypothesis which highlights the key advantages of our solution when compared to single step estimation. Finally we discuss about the correctness of the computed redundancy.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123978002","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They have the necessary cameras with an acceptable quality of lenses and CCD, the required processing power, and WiFi or Bluetooth interfaces for communication. This paper describes the architecture of the SMEyeL (Smart Mobile Eyes for Localization) system. It is designed to utilize both smart phones and PC-s as processing nodes of a visual sensor network. It aims to achieve high spatial and temporal resolution, energy consumption optimization via computation off-loading and distributed processing. The SMEyeL project is open source: source code and measurement data sets are available on the web. We present the detailed description of the architecture and experimental results related to timing accuracy and localization precision.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116515456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The novelty of our approach is to use matchings for calculating distance of graphs in case of edge-colored graphs. This idea can be used as a preprocessing step of graph querying applications, to speed up exact and inexact graph matching methods. We introduce the notion of colored matchings and prove some properties of them in edge colored complete graphs and complete bipartite graphs in case of two colors.","PeriodicalId":314029,"journal":{"name":"2013 3rd Eastern European Regional Conference on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131047175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
