Se fundamenta en los conceptos de intertextualidad e inversión paródica, los cuales ayudan a determinar los procesos de inversión alrededor de dicha figura literaria. Se lleva a cabo un análisis textual en diálogo con la teoría intertextual, la tradición gauchesca y la crítica especializada. Estudia dos novelas guatemaltecas de principios del siglo XXI de Gerardo Guinea Diez: El árbol de Adán y La mirada remota. {"title":"Definiteness and Specificity in EFL","authors":"Damaris Castro-García","doi":"10.15359/rl.2-74.3","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15359/rl.2-74.3","url":null,"abstract":"This article explores the application of English parameter settings to mark specificity and definiteness by Costa Rican Spanish-speaking, L2 English young adults. A Forced Elicitation Task (FET) was used to analyze the participants’ choices. The data were analyzed in comparison to native speaker responses. The results show that these EFL learners find it particularly difficult to decide on the correct articles for specific nouns, even more so if they are indefinite NPs. Indefinite and definite non- specific NPs are assigned articles with less difficulty. La indagación se fundamenta en el modelo metadiscursivo. Sigue un diseño descriptivo y exploratorio de carácter deductivo˗inductivo. Se concluye que la estrategia predominante para comprometerse con los lectores es la referencia al lector, seguida de las directivas y la apelación al conocimiento compartido. Para ello, se definen y explican seis estrategias desarrolladas por esta editorial universitaria para contrarrestar los efectos de la crisis, a saber: la acelerada incorporación del paradigma digital, el fomento de la escritura creativa, el diseño de nuevos modelos de difusión y comercialización, el empleo de nuevos formatos de publicación, el reencuentro paulatino con el público lector y el debate en torno a las políticas culturales y la reactivación del sector. This investigation aims to contribute to field of applied linguistics since little research has been done on needs analysis in English for specific purposes for Geographic Sciences.
