There are cloud service providers who provide large scale computing infrastructures as services in a supple manner which the users can scale up or down based on the requirements. In present day scenario of the network cascaded with task consummation, and the aspect of heterogeneity along with platform divergence, dynamic load balancing plays a vital role in optimizing the performance of the server in the cloud computing environment. Developing a proficient load balancing algorithm and efficient usage of resources is the ultimate goal for the lead of optimized performance in a cloud network. Taking these factors into consideration, the proposed system applies Firefly Load balancing algorithm for the cloud in a partitioned cloud environment to balance the load across the variety of partitions. The central idea of the proposed work is to prepare the nodes capable to conceive the arriving load and attract the workload after analyzing various parameters that characterize the load and the node. A balance factor is calculated, which probabilistically defines the extent of balancing that ensues. Fuzzy logic is applied in accretion, to resolve the time uncertainties following the initial stage of load balancing. By applying this logic it is observed that, a better performance is achieved in terms of computational time, load arrived, task migration and the cost incurred.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126415690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is used to improve the security for internet Based applications. It is an automated test used to find whether the user is a human or a bot. This is mandatory to know because many bots are developed to illegally use the Internet sites content. CAPTCHA give a text or an image and asks its user to enter the same text. But some types of CAPTCHA are being broken by bots and some CAPTCHA are not user understandable i.e. they are difficult to read by humans. Many new types of CAPTCHA techniques were introduced to improve the security of the internet sites like 3D CAPTCHA, Devanagari CAPTCHA etc. In this paper we are going to introduce a new technique for CAPTCHA which is hard to break by the bot. The new technique is that we write a program that counts the number of pulses of a human body. This is very hard for a bot to break the CAPTCHA that can only work for the number of pulses of a person.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"06 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129257161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People do often search for someone who is of similar interest. People’s interest can be found with the few options in web known as tagging and rating. A single user can rate a single item based on his likeness on that item. This paper describes a way on how to identify unanimous people with the tags and rating. A user-signature is constructed by establishing a set representing resource tag and its rating with an algorithm. User signature is generated as a text string specifying the category id and its rating average. Further, signatures of various users are compared and the scale of unanimity is found using an algorithm. A group of users are formed who are likeminded. The group is formed by applying a parameter based clustering with parametric group signature.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116843749","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data mining of protein sequence databases poses special challenges, because several protein databases are non-relational whereas most of the data mining and machine learning techniques considers the data input to be a relational database. The existing sequence mining algorithms mainly focus on mining for subsequences. However, a wide range of applications such as biological DNA and protein motif mining needs an effective mining for identifying the approximate frequent patterns. The existing approximate frequent pattern mining algorithms have some delimitations such as lack of knowledge to finding the patterns, poor scalability and complexity to adapt into some other applications. In this paper, a Generalized Approximate Pattern Algorithm (GAPA) is proposed to efficiently mine the approximate frequent patterns in the protein sequence database. Pearson’s coefficient correlation is computed among the protein sequence database items to analyze the approximate frequent patterns. The performance of the proposed GAPA is analyzed and tested with the FASTA protein sequence database. FASTA database files hold the protein translations of Ensembl gene predictions. GAPA is compared with the existing methods such as Approximate Frequent Itemsets (AFI) tree and Approximate Closed Frequent Itemsets (ACFIM) in terms of support, accuracy, memory usage and time consumption. The experimental results shows GAPA is scalable and outperforms than the existing algorithms.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122565687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, selection of appropriate services has become an important task while processing the request. Initially, service selection is based on the matchmaking algorithm, but as there are number of identical and overlapping services for a single request, a mechanism needs to be defined to determine which services will participate in selection of the given request. Though ranking methodology considers the need of requestor, it does not consider other constraints like functional and non functional qualities. To meet these kinds of constraints, QoS based web service selection has been chosen. This approach maximizes the user satisfaction by composing the qualities of web service using Fuzzy rule based system. This allows imprecise information and help to model highly complex problems that have multi dimensional data. This method is experimented and the results prove better selection when compared with conventional methods.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128705460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, businesses decided to go mobile. Municipalities and organizations that provide services to the public through E-Services will benefit from utilizing mobile features along with choosing the appropriate development approach. Services will be more users friendly and will reach more citizens. Developing in house M-Services that mirror E-Services need to be handled systematically through a software development methodology. As a step forward in this direction, we propose eM2ethodology (Electronic to Mobile methodology) to extend E-Services to M-Services. The methodology is based on existing methodologies in two fields' web development and mobile development. The reason behind choosing these fields is that the methodology should be able to transfer and extend the E-Services of an application to M-Services. The methodology concentrates on minimizing the risk of failure and delivering the project in an efficient time. We validated the methodology by transforming E-Services of Omani public authority of consumer protection website into M-Services as a mobile web application. Validation is on progress as this is ongoing research. Moreover in the future we are going to validate the methodology against other development approaches.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121122982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It provides a new authentication mechanism. This additional level of security is important for the ServiceOriented Architecture (SOA), which is an architectural style that uses a set of principles and design rules to shape interacting applications and maintain interoperability. Web Services is one of the technologies to implement SOA and it can be implemented using Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). A SOAP-based Web Service relies on XML for its message format and common application layer protocols for message negotiation and transmission. However, it is a security challenge when a message is transmitted over the network, especially on the Internet. The Organization for Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) announced a set of Web Services Security standards that focus on two major areas. “Who” can use the Web Service and “What” are the permissions. However, the location or domain of the message sender is not authenticated. Therefore, a new secure token profile is proposed for enhancing existing Web Service security standards and illustrates its performance advantage over existing WS Security standards.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121600520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the last decade, recommendation systems have emerged as an effective means to reduce the complexity of information search, these recommendation systems are based on a learner’s profile. The construction of user profiles is at the center of the issues raised in the study of mechanisms for personalization or recommendation of resources to users that takes into account their specific needs. These profiles are constructed and enriched with the user interaction with the system. The objective of this paper is to present our approach for modeling a learner within our recommendation system.
