The rise in number of real time application with popularity of mobile phones always tests scheduler performance of broadband wireless systems like WiMAX. Distribution of resources in such networks has always been a challenging phenomenon. This problem can be solved if scheduling decision is based on traffic patterns of incoming traffic. This paper proposes an application of fuzzy logic by virtue of which an intelligent system for distribution of resources has been defined. The system works as adaptive approach in granting bandwidth to those FORtraffic classes that has relatively higher share of incoming traffic in its queues. The results demonstrate significance of the proposed method","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114430861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Concept-based information retrieval is more beneficial than keyword-based access. The most important advantage is the ability to make use of semantic relationships among concepts in finding relevant documents.  Removal of irrelevant documents by identifying conceptual mismatches is another benefit. The linguistic representation of concepts is words and phrases. These concepts are mental structures. The inherent conciseness of natural language can make words represent multiple concepts. Different words can represent the same or similar concepts. We present a novel method of concept mining methodology, which provides an efficient way of document retrieval. The performance of this proposed retrieval system was analyzed by the existing methods for different medical documents. The proposed retrieval system shows that the documents are retrieved effectively based on concepts and the system performs with higher accuracy value.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129256097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The scheduler is accountable for multiplexing processes on the CPU. By switching the CPU among processes, the operating system results in the computer more prolific. Various CPU scheduling algorithms exist for a multi-programmed operating system like First Come First Served (FCFS), Shortest Job First (SJF), Shortest Remaining Time Next (SRTN) and Round Robin (RR) scheduling algorithm. This paper has threefold objective. Firstly, it throws light on a new-fangled CPU scheduling algorithm called MIN-MAX whichbehaves as both preemptive and non-preemptive algorithm basis on the burst time. Secondly, it would helps to understand how MIN-MAXalgorithm improves the CPU efficiency in multi programming operating system and also trims down the starvation problem amongprocesses. Thirdly, it focuses on the comparative study of the existing algorithms on basis of various scheduling parameters with the proposed algorithm MIN-MAX.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129906400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our view, we should focus on management on one hand and grasp network security technique on the other hand. Both are equally important. Without the support of management, even the best technique does not work. Conversely, without technique, management becomes empty words. The management system mainly includes construction of leading bodies and technical team, establishing a set of rules, technology implementation strategy, and construction of internal and external environments. The technical system mainly includes physical security, reasonable network topology, the efficiency and reliability of network, the application security, against network attacks and data storage security. Campus network security management is a complicated and systematic project and it needs to be integrated into the agenda of college and university management and the cooperation of staff and students of the whole college and university.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130073452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a hostile environment of MANET, security is the primary concern to achieve protected communication between mobile nodes. A number of nontrivial challenges to security designs mandate the demand of building multi-fence security solutions that achieve both extended protection and adorable network performance.MANET’s are vulnerable to many security attacks because of shared channel, insecure operating environment, lack of central authority, limited resource availability, dynamically changing network topology and resource constraints. Wormhole attack, black hole attack and grayhole attack are different network layer attacks and wormhole is the dominant attack of all. In this work, wormhole attack is implemented in Qualnet 4.5 with three different modes i.e., all pass, all drop and threshold mode with varying the network size comprising of 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 nodes. Performance of four reactive protocols i.e., AODV, DSR, DYMO and ANODR is analyzed in the presence of wormhole attack with four parameters, i.e., throughput, average end-to-end delay, average jitter and packet delivery ratio in mobility and non-mobility domain. Simulations revealed that AODV protocol is more vulnerable to wormhole attack in mobility domain which results into low packet delivery ratio (PDR) of AODV protocol in mobility domain. DSR protocol is least vulnerable to wormhole attack in non-mobility domain. DSR protocol experiences high PDR in non-mobility mode due to pre specified route in route cache which does not changes due to non-mobility. DYMO and ANODR protocol experiences constant throughput in non-mobility domain and shows variations in throughput for mobility domain.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114433807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is apparent that survival of chances of patient could be expanded if tumor is identified at its initial stage. In this research work, we have developed a simple approach for detection of brain tumor which is based on the method using Euclidean distance classifier and making use of feature vector table and which over comes the limitations of conventional in which combination of supervised and unsupervised learning have been implemented to build cancer detection system, as there is huge overhead in this approach and there is a need to maintain large size training datasets. The new proposed method first convert the image into indexed image, than after de noising it with 3*3 mean filter, it conducts the block wise scanning to get feature set of statistical features in both frequency and time domain and finally based on Euclidean distance measures an optimized tumor part is segmented which is ROI (region of interest) then this segmented part is validated and test to arrive at exact brain tumor part required. The result show high reduction of time, increases specificity with better accuracy in terms of true positive rates.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"245 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124698261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main and most challenging step in the process of iris recognition is iris localization. As accuracy in localization of iris significantly affect the further processing of feature extraction and template matching stages. Traditional algorithms work efficiently and accurately in localizing iris from eye images taken in constrained environmental conditions. But their accuracy is affected when eye images are taken in unconstrained environmental conditions. The proposed algorithm starts with determining the exact location of iris even in the presence of specular highlights and non-ideal environmental conditions. The proposed algorithm works well for iris images and the accuracy of segmentation stage has increased when intuitionistic fuzzy is applied on the UBIRIS v2 iris images.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121022465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Language identification is always been an important research area which has been carried out from early 1970’s. Still it is a fascinating field to be studied due to increased demand of natural language processing applications. In many applications, it works as a primary step of some larger process. In this paper, a number of applications are outlined where language identification is working successfully.  Language Identification can be done using two types of techniques: computational techniques and non-computational techniques. Computational techniques are based on statistical methods and requires large set of training data for each of the language while non-computational techniques require that researcher must have extensive knowledge about the language to-be-identified. In this paper, a brief review of the few papers is presented which outlines the various statistical and non-statistical techniques that have been applied by the different researchers for language identification. Besides it, different researchers performed language identification for different type of documents such as monolingual, multilingual, long and short and for a particular set of languages.","PeriodicalId":311436,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117234056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
