Although STTCs have been analyzed theoretically and the error performances have been simulated by many researchers, experimental results have rarely been reported. Therefore, we evaluated the performance of our 2×2 STTC-MIMO-OFDM in both a simulation and experiment in the 800-MHz-band urban mobile environment. As a result, excellent bit error rate (BER) performance obtained in the simulation was verified by the experiment.","PeriodicalId":311235,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133577878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By utilizing the BSVD, transmit and receive beamformers divide the MIMO channel into some decoupled MIMO subchannels, which have different sizes. Due to flexibility in dividing the MIMO channel and applying the STC to each MIMO subchannel independently, the system can be designed based on trade off between diversity, multiplexing and complexity. Combining the dominant subspace beamformer and Alamouti STC, which is developed based on one dimensional BSVD (1D-BSVD), can be considered as one approach. To evaluate the performance of the new approach, the bit error rate (BER) of the proposed joint beamforming and ST coding is compared with the BERs of the orthogonal space-time block codes (OSTBCs) and the quasi-OSTBCs (QOSTBCs) via computer simulations. The results show that the superior performance of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":311235,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124064385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As known, it is usually difficult to build a high power transmitter system from the low power components by combination technique. Here we present a design and fabrication of such a system by combination of components which amplify signals from 1W to 45W, and then to 200W. The 200W power amplifier is a module which combines power to the theoretical value. We utilized the Hybrid and Wilkinson bridges as the combination logics. The studies were carried out along with the simulink-study by Ansolf and ADS software for design and fabrication of logic circuits. The obtained results showed that the method is suitable for application in the national sovereignty identification coding system in Vietnam.","PeriodicalId":311235,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129660738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed DQOSTBC is designed to achieve maximal data rate, spatial diversity gain and full decoupling for a relay network with four active relays. These goals are obtained by precoding the received signals at each relay to form the quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes (QOSTBCs) as developed for multiple-input multiple-output systems. To avoid the intersymbol interference caused by the dispersive nature of frequency selective fading, the frequency domain equalizer is exploited in our design for low-complexity receiver. In addition, the simulation results prove that our design provides 4dB improvement in terms of bit error rate as a benefit of applying the QOSTBC to cooperative networks.","PeriodicalId":311235,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128071219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to achieve the spatial diversity, a new cooperation scenario is proposed. Afterward, in addition to multiuser precoding, Maximum Ratio Combining (MRC) according to the Maximum Signal to Noise Ratio (MSNR) criterion at the destination is investigated. Then, the optimal transmission power control strategy under a fixed total power constraint is illustrated and analyzed. In this paper, we propose a novel automatic frequency controller (AFC) scheme with time diversity combining. The proposed AFC generates the frequency error signal based on the time diversity combined signal. The signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) of the frequency error signal is therefore prevented from falling to zero even in the condition of signal blockage. The proposed AFC thus tracks and removes the carrier frequency fluctuation due to Doppler shift more exactly than the conventional one. Results of computer simulation show that the proposed AFC improves the SNR of the frequency error signal significantly. It is meant that the proposed AFC also improves both of the acquisition characteristics and jitter performance even in the severe environments of the helicopter satellite communications.","PeriodicalId":311235,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications","volume":"75 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115077022","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using a continuous time Markov chain, the expression for the aggregate throughput as a function of traffic intensity, forced termination and blocking probabilities is derived. Furthermore, throughput loss of the individual SU groups is analyzed in terms of proportional fairness. The results show that as the difference between the service rates increases the fairness deviates from its ideal value and this unfairness cannot be countered by changing the arrival/access rate of SUs. For the fixed arrival rate of SU groups there exists an optimal service rate pair which maximize the aggregate throughput.","PeriodicalId":311235,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132497653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although several methods have been proposed, most of them have poor performance in irregularly shaped networks. MDS-MAP is one of the localization methods based on multidimensional scaling (MDS) technique. It uses the connectivity information to derive the location of the nodes in the network. In presence of additional data such as estimated distances between adjacent neighbors, it can also enhance the localization precision. Since MDS-MAP uses the length of the shortest path as Euclidian distance between the nodes, it is sensitive to the shape of the network. In this paper we present MDS-MAP(I), a modified algorithm based on MDS-MAP which improves the localization task in irregular networks. The simulation results show that the algorithm is more reliable in various topologies and achieves a significant performance improvement upon existing method.","PeriodicalId":311235,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123707501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
