SOP is an emerging outsourcing model and is different to ordinary software development arrangement. Generally, a profitable outsourcing relationship might be a candidate to be converted to SOP. Since SOP is popular and has great potential. However, many barriers prevent it from reaching its maximal potential. Consequently, making a systematic literature review on such barriers is potentially beneficial. The main target of intended study is to find a list of barriers those are deliberated obstacles for vendors in the transformation of their surviving contract based outsourcing association to an outsourcing partnership. In this article, we have presented a novel protocol using systematic literature review process. The results are based on broad literature review and comparisons. A total of twenty-six barriers were identified, twelve barriers were considered as critical barriers (CBs). Software development outsourcing vendors should address all the listed barriers particularly the CBs in order to move up from vendor to partner.","PeriodicalId":310777,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th International Multi-Topic ICT Conference (IMTIC)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116825519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Smart homes for the elderly have the potential to offer unobtrusive health and wellness monitoring. The aim is to provide a safe, independent living environment which can identify and predict problems by monitoring the activities of daily living (ADLs) of the inhabitants. For this, a system able to handle continuous streams of data is required. Such a system can extract the information by using appropriate classification and learning algorithms and thus allow the remote monitoring of health and wellbeing at a high level. The implementation requires: the use of appropriate sensing technologies, identification of ADLs, data pre-processing techniques and machine learning algorithms. This is challenging due to individual differences: such a system must be able to personalize individual needs. Our contribution was the design and implementation of a platform to smartly monitor health condition of elderly using sensor data from a smart home, through an interactive user interface which is user-friendly and multi-platform. This proof-of-concept used off-line data, with the view to extend to real-time data collection in the future, which could then be used to inform support providers remotely.","PeriodicalId":310777,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th International Multi-Topic ICT Conference (IMTIC)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117257759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Solar energy is considered as the most suitable alternate energy resources, but it has some limitations in the form of low efficiency, in order to enhance the solar efficiency, there is a need of an effective maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm, which could help to harvest the maximum power from Photovoltaic (PV) system. In this research work we have used a non inverting buck boost convertor as an interface between the PV array and consumer load. The reference voltages which are generated for the controller are generated through the regression plane; the stability of the proposed model is verified by MATLAB/SIMULINK model. The simulation results proved that the proposed controller exhibits fast and accurate MPPT. The comparison of different scenarios proved that the performance of the proposed controller is very identical; the results proved that the employed technique is very effective to control the abrupt variations in PV panel output.","PeriodicalId":310777,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th International Multi-Topic ICT Conference (IMTIC)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134230103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The designed antenna operates on the widely used cellular spectrum of UMTS/HSPA+2100 MHz (Universal Mobile Telecommunication Systems, High Speed Packet Access) deployed on the global scale for 3G cellular applications. In addition, our design operates on the ISM- band spectrum of 2.4 GHz that is used for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Applications worldwide. The integration of the UMTS/HSPA+2100 MHz and ISM-band in a single antenna operation is often a cumbersome task. This paper presents the design parameters and their implementation for combining these two bands in a single antenna. The designed antenna is simulated both in the presence and in absence of the human head model. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) value is calculated in the presence of the human head model. The simulation results of both the cases are compared and analyzed. The antenna is optimized for the lowest possible SAR value by varying the antenna dimensions and analyzing the simulation parameters. A detailed analysis of varying antenna dimensions and their impact upon the antenna parameters is presented. Finally, antennas with different dimensions have been designed and a detailed comparison is made between their resultant antenna parameter values such as directivity, gain, radiation pattern, return loss, bandwidth, and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) value, both in the figurative and tabulated form. After the detailed analysis the antenna with the optimal performance in terms of the abovementioned parameters has been selected. Thus, these design procedures and simulation analysis can be utilized for antenna design in the practical and commercial personal communications systems (PCS) and Cellular applications.","PeriodicalId":310777,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th International Multi-Topic ICT Conference (IMTIC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124647443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To avoid the structural failure, Transient Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of bridges could be carried out during its service life, in order to meet the service, safety and reliability requirements. Hence in this research, transient structural analysis (SHM) using Finite Element Method (FEM) is conducted of intact as well as damaged test bridge that are having the same physical parameters to analyze non-linear behavior change of the damage that is generated in the test bridge, when some loading conditions are applied using FEM. The authenticity of this analysis can be clearly shown, when the transient structural parameters are been compared between the two test bridges. Variations in the parameters like equivalent stresses, principle stresses, deformation and maximum equivalent strain are analyzed for the structural condition monitoring of the test bridges. These two test bridges, represents the actual bridges that are being used in day to day lives. So, in real case scenario, like these two test bridges, the simulation of the actual bridges can be conducted by comparing the actual bridge models.","PeriodicalId":310777,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th International Multi-Topic ICT Conference (IMTIC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129617566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, the original Random Sample Consensus (RANSAC) algorithm and lately, its variants have been a hot topic of interest for researchers in recent years. These techniques have been successfully employed in various fields including Visual Odometry, ORB-SLAM, Point Set Registration and 3D Reconstruction etc. Visual Odometry specifically relies heavily on outlier detection and rejection, as false correspondences in stereo images might lead to wrong 3D world point perception. In this paper, a simplified framework for Visual Odometery is put forth, by using the recently proposed Graph Cut RANSAC on the standard benchmark KITTI dataset. GC RANSAC exploits standard RANSACs local optimization step and uses Graph Cut technique to approach a better estimate in less iterations. Moreover, this approach produces appreciable results with less computational cost and limited complexity, as compared to some of the other recent methods, which require the use of Extended Kalman Filter framework to perform Inertial Measurement Unit data fusion for achieving better results.","PeriodicalId":310777,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th International Multi-Topic ICT Conference (IMTIC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130458377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These problems have increased load shedding in the country; the line losses in Pakistan are also high as compared to other countries, which is not good for the country’s economy. The existing power network in Pakistan is very poorly managed, makes it unreliable and un-affordable. A new system known as Smart Grid, supported by renewable energy resources, equipped with the latest power electronic based controlling, monitoring and sensing devices can greatly improve the reliability of the power network. In this paper, solutions are proposed for the practical implementation of Smart Grid in Pakistan to tackle ongoing energy crisis in the country, focusing the technical and non-technical challenges which have devastated the economy, and considered as the main obstacle in SG implementation.","PeriodicalId":310777,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th International Multi-Topic ICT Conference (IMTIC)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131303087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In later stages, these software models can be transformed into code. UML/OCL class diagram is a very common model, which is used for transformation. It is very essential to verify UML/OCL class diagram before transformation. There is a support to verify UML/OCL class diagram up to certain extent, i.e. small class diagrams are easily verifiable. However, the problem exists in the verification of complex UML/OCL class diagrams. In this paper, we use slicing technique to break the model into several submodels, so it can be verified independently. Once the verification is done, it would also be a possible that one or more submodel is unsatisfiable. Furthermore, we also present a feedback technique in this paper that detects and traces a violating property.","PeriodicalId":310777,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th International Multi-Topic ICT Conference (IMTIC)","volume":"19 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132502286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
