Distribution of abnormal behaviors in networked system and operational states of key network services are abstracted by Markov chains, modeling objects of the HMM's dual stochastic processes are set up, and classic Baum-Welch algorithm is used to estimate the parameters of the established stochastic mathematical model, then the stochastic modeling for network security situational awareness based upon HMM is realized. The simulation experimental results in LAN show that the model can effectively analyze and validate network security situation, and it is a novel attempt in achieving network security situational awareness, which prompts the development of theoretical researches in the field of NSA at a certain degree.","PeriodicalId":309894,"journal":{"name":"2008 3rd IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130637935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it becomes more and more complex and even can't be realized as the level number of the inverter increases. Therefore, carrier based SPWM are much more preferred in many cases. In this paper, a new simplified and uniform SVPWM method for N-level(N ges 2) inverters is presented from a new point of view. The state of each switch device of the inverter can be determined directly and easily without much calculation, unlike the conventional SVPWM algorithm which needs to determine the position of the voltage space vector and the adjacent vectors. The advantage of the new method is that the realization of SVPWM is greatly simplified and the complexity of the new method increases little as the number of inverter level increases. For multi-level inverters, the neutral-point potential problem can also be resolved easily using the new method. Computer simulations on R-L and PMSM load and experiment on a 400 Hz power supply show that the new algorithm is effective and easy to implement not only for two-level inverters but also for multi-level inverters.","PeriodicalId":309894,"journal":{"name":"2008 3rd IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130924664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the hierarchical control method, two processors were applied to different control levels so as to attain complicated high-speed algorithm and real-time control. Multiple sensors were introduced to sense the environmental conditions with implemented via fuzzy logic for accurate control of moving route. Then, an actual status of target position could be judged visually. The system thus acquires many advantage such as modular structure, control flexibility and high reliability. The actual application results revealed that the system is good at both real-time response and robustness.","PeriodicalId":309894,"journal":{"name":"2008 3rd IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130225377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among all PWM techniques, regularly-sampled PWM is one of the most used pulse width modulation schemes. The popularity of this technique arises from the fact of its simplicity to be digitally implemented. From the historical point of view, regularly-sampled PWM was originally used in the aim of sinusoidal waveform generation. This paper investigates and discusses, through simulation, the effects of the aliasing distortion on the performance of regularly-sampled PWM in such cases in which this technique is used to represent modulating signals other than the sinusoidal. Moreover the paper suggests a solution for the problem and hence improves the performance of the produced PWM signal in these cases.","PeriodicalId":309894,"journal":{"name":"2008 3rd IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127975209","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a new, fast, and efficient algorithm for the focal point localization is proposed. The focal point is a reliable reference point, which can replace a singular point such as core in fingerprint registration process. The advantages of the focal point over the singular point are its uniqueness and reliability under low quality fingerprint and partial fingerprint conditions. In this paper, the proposed algorithm employed only orientation fields of fingerprint instead of a fully enhanced fingerprint, resulting in reduction of 7 times computational complexity compared to a previous algorithm. Moreover, the new algorithm achieves good localization accuracy and outstanding stability comparing with existing results in literature.","PeriodicalId":309894,"journal":{"name":"2008 3rd IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125605451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the course of experiments, a DC power supply with a series variable resistor at its output is used to simulate PV array. This method is verified with the PV charging system.
