{"title":"Polskie czasopisma humanistyczne i teologiczne w bazie Scopus: w kierunku umiędzynarodowienia","authors":"A. Drabek","doi":"10.14746/b.2023.27.10","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14746/b.2023.27.10","url":null,"abstract":"Ukazanie się w 2019 roku Wykazu czasopism punktowanych wywołało w środowisku polskich humanistów sporo komentarzy wskazujących na niedocenienie wielu polskich czasopism naukowych. W Polsce wydaje się ponad 3,5 tys. czasopism naukowych, z czego tylko kilkaset zostało uwzględnionych w tym wykazie. Naukowcy wyrażali obawy co do możliwości poszerzenia listy i wskazywali, że międzynarodowe bazy danych Web of Science oraz Scopus nie będą zainteresowane polskimi czasopismami humanistycznymi publikującymi przede wszystkim w języku polskim. Pomimo kontrowersji wiele redakcji podjęło trud wprowadzenia czasopism do tych baz.Celem artykułu jest analiza polskich czasopism humanistycznych i teologicznych indeksowanych w bazie Scopus oraz sprawdzenie, jak obecnie – w 2023 roku – wygląda ich umiędzynarodowienie mierzone kryterium rejestracji w tej bazie. W latach 2017–2023 do bazy włączono 98 polskich czasopism humanistycznych i teologicznychNa podstawie danych z bazy Scopus oraz Arianta przygotowano wykaz 187 czasopism aktualnie rejestrowanych bazie Scopus, które przeanalizowano pod kątem dyscyplin, modelu publikacji oraz typu instytucji wydawcy. W drugiej części zbadane zostały artykuły opublikowane w tych czasopismach, przede wszystkim pod kątem języka publikacji, a także afiliacji (kraj i instytucja) autorów. {"title":"The development of the research on the history of libraries: a handful of reflections from the French perspective","authors":"Jean-Dominique Mellot","doi":"10.14746/b.2023.27.6","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14746/b.2023.27.6","url":null,"abstract":"Studies on the history of libraries as a research field within a domain of the French historiographic tradition first appeared towards the end of the 1980s. Its theoretical underpinnings were in fact provided by the existing studies on the history of books and the founding works by Henri-Jean Martin (1924–2007). Despite a sizeable number of publications following the publication of the Histoire des bibliothèques françaises (Paris, 1988–1992, 4 vols.), this particular research area somehow failed to take advantage of the dynamics generally attributed to works on the history of books. Largely focusing on institutional and present-day issues, a substantial portion of the study on the history of libraries continued for a long time to be isolated and dominated by library-based authors only. A change in this situation came as late as the first decade of the 21st century and was greatly influenced by the works of the recently deceased historian Frédéric Barbier (1952–2023). Since that time, we have been witnessing a significant widening of perspectives, very much in line with the wish expressed by F. Barbier himself in his Histoire des bibliothèques en Occident (ed. I, Paris, 2013). This area of research (history of libraries) attracts interests of more and more researchers and has become a transnational domain at the pan-European level. The present research study documents these cultural and timeless transitions (challenging the perceived divisions between the Middle Ages and the Ancien Régime, and the Ancien Régime and modern times), and thus becoming multidisciplinary as well as interdisciplinary studies that integrate a number of disciplines (political history, social history, history of culture, architecture, etc.). At the same time, research on the history of libraries retains a strong relationship with studies on the history of books and media. The position and standing of libraries, that went through profound transformations due to both cuts in their budgets and the implications of the digital revolution in the first years of the 21st century, seems to be endangered, both as an institution and a place. However, their purpose in modern democracy is not outdated and they still perform a significant mission by making it possible for all to have equal access to cultural resources and media. Libraries provide non-vertical mediation (i.e. cataloguing and metadata creation, classification and storage …), that is still essential to make data and documents available. They continue to accommodate in one cultural space – that becomes more and more comfortable and friendly – both readers and visitors that learn to “live together” within this space, conforming at the same time to applicable rules and regulations. {"title":"The Most Cited Scientific Information Sources in Wikipedia Articles Across Various Languages","authors":"Włodzimierz Lewoniewski","doi":"10.14746/b.2023.27.12","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14746/b.2023.27.12","url":null,"abstract":"Ensuring the accuracy of information in Wikipedia articles requires the use of reliable sources that can be assessed by encyclopedia readers. However, the determination of source reliability can be subjective, with variations based on the language and subject matter of the article. Consequently, each language version of Wikipedia may have its own guidelines for judging the trustworthiness of sources. Some Wikipedia citations lead to scientific resources, which are usually deemed more reliable than websites due to their rigorous peer-review procedures and publication by esteemed academic publishers. This implies that the data presented in these scientific sources has been meticulously examined by specialists in the relevant area, providing a higher level of precision and trustworthiness. In this study, 332,424,439 references from 61,218,277 Wikipedia articles across 309 language versions were analyzed to identify citations to scientific publications. Szczegółowej analizie poddano utwory Anne Carson (Nox), Herty Müller (Strażnik bierze swój grzebień), Z. Fajfera i K. Bazarnik (Oka-leczenie), Stéphane’a Mallarmégo (Rzut kośćmi nigdy nie zniesie przypadku) oraz Radosława Nowakowskiego (m.in. seria Nieopisanie świata). Werbalność i wizualność tych utworów przenikają się i nakładają na siebie, budując dodatkowe znaczenia i poszerzając możliwości interpretacyjne, a wielość przyjętych przez autorów rozwiązań zaskakuje. {"title":"On Literary Spoils of War in Private Libraries. The Case of Rålamb at Länna Gård","authors":"Peter Sjökvist","doi":"10.14746/b.2023.27.2","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14746/b.2023.27.2","url":null,"abstract":"After arriving in Sweden, the literary spoils of war taken from Poznań in the Swedish deluge in the 1650s ended up in the private country house library of nobleman Clas Rålamb (1622–1698), who had been sent by Swedish King Charles X Gustavus (reigned 1654–1660) to manage the difficult situation in this Polish town while it was under Swedish command. With the help of a still extant inventory from the 1690s drawn up at the country house before the books were donated to Uppsala University Library, where they remain today, the contents and possible arrangement of this library are briefly described and discussed in this article. Some notable characteristics are the sections on theology and duplicates being larger than what would normally be expected from a country house library of this kind. It is assumed that these factors, among others, indicate that Rålamb did not make any sort of selection when seizing the books from monasteries and churches in Poznań. In addition, it suggests that their primary role in their new environment was to increase the cultural capital of their owner.
