While teacher education programmes are considered to be the input, student achievements are the output. Consequently, certain models have been found to be more effective and evaluated more than others. It is noted that of all the components that constitute teacher education programme, the student teaching has received less attention. This study evaluates the student teaching sub-components of the University of Lagos, Faculty of Education and the University of Columbia Teachers College, with a view to attempting an enrichment of the former with some of the best pedagogical provisions from the latter. With the use of an adopted instrument tagged Comprehensive School Reforms Classroom Observation System (CSRCOS) and other trainee records, the evaluation identifies strengths and weaknesses as well as best practices for enrichment purposes. Results reveal that there were disparities in Lagos teacher trainees’ scores by their Departments and over a period of three academic sessions. These disparities can be defined and explained by the mode and type of field experience that the student teachers were exposed to. The study underscores some of the Columbia pedagogical practices for systematic replication by the Lagos Model. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Capaian model persiapan guru sering dikaji menggunakan model input-output yang menempatkan pendidikan keguruan sebagai bagian dari input dan capaian belajar siswa bagian dari output. Beberapa model diketahui lebih efektif disbanding lainnya, hanya saja komponen program Pendidikan guru dan pengajaran oleh siswa tidak banyak memperoleh perhatian. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mengkaji praktik pengajaran siswa sebagai bagian dari program Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Lagos dan Columbia Teachers College yang diatahkan untuk memperkaya praktik pengajaran dengan mengadopsi instrument Comprehensive School Reforms Classroom Observation System (CSRCOS) dan catatan pelatihan lainnya. Kajian dalam penelitian ini mengidentifikasi kekuatan dan kelemahan yang ada dengan tujuan memperkaya pengalaman mengajar siswa. Melalui penelitian ini diperoleh kesenjangan di program pelatihan guru di Lagos sesuai departemen masing-masing dalam kurun waktu tiga semester. Kesenjangan tersebut dikategorisasikan sesuai dengan mode dan tipe pengalaman lapangan siswa mengajar. They are made in place of the original object and therefore used as such in place of the original. Inability to have access to mammalian internal organs is one of the challenges in teaching some concepts in Biology. Hence, the need to develop a 3-dimensional automated model of the human heart (3-DAMHH) to teach Biology concepts in Ilorin, Nigeria. The study was a developmental research design model. ADDIE model was adopted. The findings of this study revealed that a 3-dimensional (3D) automated model of the human heart was successfully developed with silicon gum, pop, oil paint, hosepipe, pumping devices, transformer, and diode. Findings also revealed that a 3-dimensional automated model of the human heart was cost-effective. This study recommends biology teachers use 3-DAMHH for teaching abstract concepts in biology. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Model adalah replika langsung, gambar atau salinan dari benda atau angka nyata yang dibuat sesuai dengan objek aslinya dan karenanya digunakan seperti objek aslinya. Ketidakmampuan untuk mengakses organ dalam mamalia merupakan salah satu tantangan dalam mengajarkan beberapa konsep dalam mata pelajaran Biologi. Oleh karena itu, perlu dikembangkan model jantung manusia otomatis 3 dimensi (3-DAMHH) untuk mengajarkan konsep Biologi. Dalam hal ini ini peneliti mengambil konteks di Ilorin, Nigeria. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model ADDIE. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa: model jantung manusia otomasi 3 dimensi berhasil dikembangkan dengan permen karet silikon, pop, cat minyak, selang, perangkat pompa, transformator, dan dioda. Temuan lain juga mengungkapkan bahwa model otomatis 3 dimensi jantung manusia hemat biaya. Negeri 2 Brebes has successfully achieved the goal of learning. Research methods are qualitative approaches. The research design uses a case study. The research focuses on the full-day school program's contribution to student learning outcomes of English subject with the object’s alumni of full-day school classes, English teachers, and deputy head of curriculum at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes. Data collection technique’s semi-structured interviews, unstructured interviews, and literature reviews. Data validity techniques use source triangulation techniques. Data analysis techniques use Miles and Huberman analysis. The study results are: First, the learning objectives of full-day school program implementation at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes have been achieved. Second, implementations of full-day school programs at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes can contribute to improving English learning outcomes. Third, the obstacle is the gap in students' grades between full-day school and regular. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Implementasi program full day school  di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes telah berhasil mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Metode penelitian pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian studi kasus. Fokus penelitian kontribusi program full day school terhadap hasil belajar siswa mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan objek alumni kelas full day school, guru Bahasa Inggris, dan wakasek bagian kurikulum di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes. Teknik pengumpulan data wawancara semi terstruktur, wawancara tak terstruktur, dan tinjauan literatur. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber. Teknik analisis data adalah analisis Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian. Pertama, tujuan pembelajaran implementasi program full day school di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes telah tercapai. Kedua implementasi program full day school di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes dapat memberikan kontribusi yang mempengaruhi peningkatan hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris. The research method used quantitative descriptive with a survey design. The technique of collecting data through the MSLQ Likert learning strategies subscales by Pintrich 1991 with total technic sampling. The results showed that the self-regulated learning conducted by XI students during the covid-19 pandemic is in the moderate category with an empirical mean of 54.29 and a standard deviation of 6,933. The conclusion of this research is all of the students in class XI who tend to have the ability to manage resource management strategies are in the medium category. All indicators of resource management strategy were time management and learning environment (52.7%), effort regulation (67.3%), peer learning (62.4%), and help-seeking (53.7%). \u0000Abstrak \u0000Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tingkatan, mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis self-regulated learning siswa kelas XI pada masa pandemi covid-19 di SMAN 63 Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatid deskriptif dengan desain penelitian survei. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan subskala learning strategies The MSLQ Scales karya Pintrich 1991 dengan teknik total sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self-regulated learning yang dilakukan siswa kelas XI pada masa pandemic Covid-19 berada pada kategori sedang dengan mean empiris sebesar 54.29 dan standar deviasi sebesar 6.933. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI cenderung memiliki kemampuan berdasarkan resource management strategies berada pada kategori sedang. Research reveals that teacher education curriculum models in such universities are either a wholesale importation or partial duplication of some of the dominant models of teacher preparation especially the Teachers College, Columbia and University of Wisconsin, Madison models. Accordingly, such curricula are ostensibly non-African in nature. Consequently, there is a clamour for an African indigenous model with potential to produce African-based teachers for Africa and its Diaspora.  This study which has Indigenous Knowledge as its theoretical basis attempts to formulate university-based Afrocentric teacher education curriculum. The study employs a multiplicity of methods comprising curriculum criticism, the historical method, the analytic method, and creative synthesis. Its significance lies in its potential to contribute to the promotion of the African identity through ideologically independent teachers for ultimate implementation of school curricula in Africa. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Dominasi pendidikan keguruan model Barat di universitas-universitas Afrika telah menjadi perhatian yang besar. Beberapa penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa model-model pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan keguruan sepenuhnya merupakan impor atau duplikasi dari model beberapa model dominan persiapan calon guru, terutama Teachers College, Columbia dan universitas Wisconsin, Madison. Dengan demikian, kurikulum yang dijalankan seolah-olah tidak kontekstual Afrika. Therefore, technology has become one of the important parts in the teaching and learning process. One of the technology tools may have enhanced the process is IWBs. This paper focuses on the significance of the interactive whiteboard to enhance the learning process by supporting different learners. Hence, this research used qualitative approach by using observation and interview methods. The data was collected at two private universities. 105 learners were observed, 15 students interviewed and 7 teachers questioned. The results illustrated that IWBs have significant impact to support different learning styles and increases the level of engagement. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Sekarang teknologi telah membuka banyak pintu peluang perubahan di dunia Pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, teknologi menjadi bagian yang sangat penting dalam proses belajar-mengajar. Satu jenis teknologi agaknya terkait dengan hal ini adalah papan tulis interaktif. Artikel ini focus pada signifikansi papan tulis interaktif dalam meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran sebagai cara memfasilitasi belajar siswa. Data penelitian diambil dari dua universitas swasta, observasi dilakukan terhadap 105 mahasiswa, sebanyak 15 mahasiswa dan 7 guru diwawancara. Cartoon was part of a creative space that facilitates individuals who have an interest in cartoon creations. The existence of cartoon class in Indonesia is still not popular still like in Turkey, Iran, and Belgium. However, the Indonesian Gold Pencil Foundation is a space of cartoon artist in Indonesia, especially in Semarang city. This method applied of research qualitative. Research instruments included structured interview guidelines, deep observations, and documentation. The results of this study comprised the development of cartoon education in Semarang City is becoming new phenomenon, especially for students in elementary education, junior high school, and senior high school. The cartoon education in the city of Semarang was as a unique interest for some students, because it was able to develop their creativity and interest in animation. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami potret edukasi dan pelatihan seni kartun di Kota Semarang. Seni menggambar kartun merupakan bagian dari ruang kreatif dalam memfasilitasi individu yang memiliki minat pada kreasi kartun. Keberadaan kelas kartun di Indonesia masih belum populer masih seperti di Negara Turki, Iran, dan Belgia. Namun, Yayasan Pensil Emas Indonesia merupakan ruang bagi seniman kartun di Indonesia, khususnya di Kota Semarang. Metode penelitian adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian mencakup pedoman wawancara terstruktur, pengamatan mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah gambaran komprehensif pendidikan menggambar kartun di Kota Semarang, terutama bagi siswa di bidang pendidikan dasar, SMP, dan SMA. Self-regulated learning improves academic performance, but there is a paucity of research on social media addiction, learning strategies and self-regulated learning. This study examined the role of social media addiction and learning strategy in undergraduates' self-regulated learning. Three hundred and fifty (350) participants conveniently sampled across four (4) universities in Nigeria responded to a structured questionnaire consisting of scales measuring variables of interest. Using Analysis of Variance and Independent T-test analyses, results showed that learning strategy and social media addiction have significant influence on self-regulated learning while gender had no significant influence on self-regulated learning. It is therefore concluded that social media addiction and learning strategy are determinants of self-regulated learning, and impacts on the academic performance of undergraduate students. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Kehadiran dan kesalahan penggunaan media sosial ditambah kurangnya inisiatif untuk strategi pembelajaran yang dapat diterima adalah faktor-faktor penyebab buruknya capaian pembelajaran. Pembelajaran mandiri memang mampu meningkatkan capaian akademik, tetapi tidak banyak penelitian terkait dengan kecanduan media sosial, strategi pembelajaran, dan pembelajaran mandiri. Penelitian ini mengkaji peran kecanduan media sosial dan strategi belajar mandiri mahasiswa. Responden penelitian ini sebanyak tiga ratus lima puluh (350) dari empat (4) universitas di Nigeria, dan semuanya merespon kuesioner terstruktur yang berupa skala ukur terhadap variabal ketertarikan. Dengan menggunakan analisis varian dan independent T-test, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran dan adiksi media sosial berpengaruh signifikan terhadap self-regulated learning, sedangkan gender tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap self-regulated learning. The study was a descriptive type, 280 randomly selected teachers adequately responded to the questionnaire.  Mean scores and t-test were used to for the data analysis. The study revealed that teachers had positive intention to use electronic media. There was significant difference between male and female teachers’ intention to use electronic media for teaching with p=0.02; and There was no significant difference between qualified and less qualified as well experienced and less-experienced teachers’ intention to use electronic media for teaching. The study concluded that the society has embraced electronic devices and relies much on it for socio economic pursuit, The study thus recommended that directorate of command secondary schools should imbibe the use of motivational strategies for staff in the application of electronic media in the teaching. \u0000Abstrak \u0000 \u0000Penelitian ini menelisik kecenderungan guru dalam menggunakan media elektronik; termasuk dilihat dari jenis kelamin, pengalaman dan kualifikasi mereka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif, 280 guru yang dipilih secara acak untuk mengisi kuesioner. Nilai rata-rata dan uji-t digunakan untuk analisis data. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa guru memiliki kecenderungan positif untuk menggunakan media elektronik. Ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara niat guru laki-laki dan perempuan untuk menggunakan media elektronik untuk mengajar dengan p=0,02. Di sisi lain, tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kecenderungan guru yang berkualitas dan kurang berpengalaman serta kurang berpengalaman dalam menggunakan media elektronik untuk mengajar. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa masyarakat pada dasarnya telah familier dan sangat menggantungkan aktivitasnya dengan perangkat elektronik untuk keperluan ekonomi. Batidor","doi":"10.26858/IJES.V23I1.13437","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.26858/IJES.V23I1.13437","url":null,"abstract":"In this study, the learning experience and its cognitive factors of Mathematics among senior high school students of Visayas State University were investigated using a correlational research approach.  A complete enumeration of 222 grade 11 and 12 senior high students in the second semester of school year 2018-2019 were used as the participants of the survey. Using a developed structured questionnaire, a primary data was employed. Results showed that the mathematics attitude of students influence their learning experience and academic performance. Mathematics anxiety has a negative effect on the students learning experience especially for females. However, mathematical resilience locates itself in a positive psychology which addresses mental wellness and makes the students positively perceived that mathematics is interesting even if it is challenging.  Also, results revealed that senior high school students are mostly visual learners in mathematics, which implies that students practice visualizing or pictures numbers/equations and other concepts in their mind.
