It captures only the UV portion of the sunlight i.e. only 4-10% of the solar light incident. Therefore to increase the solar energy conversion efficiency the absorption should be extended to visible and IR region also. This is done with the help of depositing nano particles (nano metals) on the silicon surface. Silicon itself is less efficient because its band gap is less so to improve the capture range nano metals are deposited on the silicon substrate by using hot carrier cells and multiple junction solar cell.","PeriodicalId":308604,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Energy Systems (ICEES)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124346823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It comprises of a battery to store the energy for eliminating intermittency in the electricity supply, a boost converter solely operated to achieve MPPT and a bidirectional buck-boost DC-DC converter for intriguing the philosophy of charge control. The charge control algorithm envisages controlling the charging and discharging action in all the three operating zones of the battery. The perspective owes to reduce the overall system cost through the use of a novel battery charging management technique and accomplish greater battery charge levels for increasing its life expectancy. The scheme evaluates the potential of the intended method using simulation analyses from a 250W solar panel allowed to charge a 12V, 100AH battery. The results reveal a balanced energy stream out of the PV module directed towards battery as well as the load in addition to ensuring the optimal use of the PV power.","PeriodicalId":308604,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Energy Systems (ICEES)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125421552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The power coefficient variation with tip speed ratio in torque control region as well as pitch angle variation for maximum power output from wind turbine are analyzed for identifying control system parameters. The wind turbine power output and variation of power coefficient with tip speed ratio as well as pitch angle are examined / reported using annual Weibull distribution function. Finally the variation of the estimated annual energy output of the given wind turbine with the mean wind speed is presented.","PeriodicalId":308604,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Energy Systems (ICEES)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128826462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The next to agricultural sector, largest manpower involves in the Small Scale Industries and it is key instruments to the economic development as well as employment opportunity. Literatures evident that most of the Small Scale Industries operated with old technologies and could not keep updating with technological advancements. This is due to lack of understanding of science and technology involved in process / product development. Also majority of the industries have been operated traditionally operated by family persons. The view of domestic market from the point of global economy and growing concern about the environmental implication of the industrial activities, there is now increasing pressure on small scale Industries to improve its performance. In addition the energy shortage linked with increasing energy prices throughout India, is forcing the Small Scale Industries now to look at techniques and means for reducing their energy consumption and adopting technologies that result in reducing their energy intensity. In this paper one of the rural based Small Scale Industries ~ Energy Food Cooperation Society ~ considered as a case study for complete identifying and analyzing the energy conservation potential and capacity building on energy conservation with special consideration given to the harmonic mitigation.","PeriodicalId":308604,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Energy Systems (ICEES)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131854343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to falling PV panel prices and concerns over greenhouse gas emissions, lead acid based PV systems are gaining popularity for home electrification during power cuts. Lead acid battery used for energy storage has high recurring cost and adversely impact the environment, with hazardous compounds contaminating the environment on its improper disposal. To overcome this issue, an optimal method of PV sizing is implemented in this paper to reduce battery sizing in roof top PV systems and a suitable battery technology is adopted to reduce the total cost of ownership of the system.","PeriodicalId":308604,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Energy Systems (ICEES)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121951732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
