Abstract

After liberalization of Industrial Sector the contribution for growing Indian Economy, Small Scale Industries residences major role. The next to agricultural sector, largest manpower involves in the Small Scale Industries and it is key instruments to the economic development as well as employment opportunity. Literatures evident that most of the Small Scale Industries operated with old technologies and could not keep updating with technological advancements. This is due to lack of understanding of science and technology involved in process / product development. Also majority of the industries have been operated traditionally operated by family persons. The view of domestic market from the point of global economy and growing concern about the environmental implication of the industrial activities, there is now increasing pressure on small scale Industries to improve its performance. In addition the energy shortage linked with increasing energy prices throughout India, is forcing the Small Scale Industries now to look at techniques and means for reducing their energy consumption and adopting technologies that result in reducing their energy intensity. In this paper one of the rural based Small Scale Industries ~ Energy Food Cooperation Society ~ considered as a case study for complete identifying and analyzing the energy conservation potential and capacity building on energy conservation with special consideration given to the harmonic mitigation.
