There are many factors contributing to this disease such as ocular surface and tear film problem, age and gender, indoor environment, and computer vision syndrome (CVS). This paper proposes the design of a wearable humidifier for the eyes. Unlike the moisture chamber spectacles, the proposed system is an active device. It can self-regulate according to the indoor relative humidity to produce mist particles that can increase small area humidity level in proximity to the eyes. The electrical module comprises humidity and temperature sensors, micro pump, ultrasonic transducer and a microcontroller. Experiment results proved the design concept and demonstrated that the prototype system could raise relative humidity level by 30% within 4 minutes of activation.","PeriodicalId":306918,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Circuits and Systems Symposium (ICSyS)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132221220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed LNA is implemented in 0.13μm CMOS technology. The single-stage LNA achieves a maximum measured small-signal gain of 8.87dB at 41.25GHz while consuming 18.3mW from a 2.0V supply. Measurement results also display a good input and output return losses, which is less than -10dB at the operating frequency which is centered at 38.5GHz. Simulation results show a noise figure of 5dB, an input 1-dB compression of -9.51dB and an output 1-dB compression point of -2.23dB at 38.5GHz.","PeriodicalId":306918,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Circuits and Systems Symposium (ICSyS)","volume":"244 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123106530","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The modified dynamic comparator is designed to be implemented in the ultra-low power Successive Approximation Analog to Digital Converter (SAR ADC). The improved comparator has advantages of smaller resolution and stable output voltage for SAR ADC operation by using modified SR Latch compared to previous works reported. The proposed dynamic comparator is designed and simulated in the 0.18 μm CMOS process. Simulation results show that it only consumed 191 pW at 1.5 V power supply with clock frequency of 0.1 MHz. Both pre and post layout has been simulated and the performance analysis is presented.","PeriodicalId":306918,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE International Circuits and Systems Symposium (ICSyS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130294309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
