Based on a ring oscillator implemented with low power Schmitt trigger based inverters. Simulation of the proposed DCO using 32nm CMOS Predictive Transistor Model (PTM) achieves controllable frequency range of 550MHz∼830MHz with a wide linearity and high resolution. Monte Carlo simulation demonstrates that the time-period jitter due to random power supply fluctuation is under 31ps and the power consumption is 0.5677mW at 750MHz with 1.2V power supply and 0.53-ps resolution. The proposed DCO has a good robustness to voltage and temperature variations and better linearity comparing to the conventional design.","PeriodicalId":306663,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International Symposium on Telecommunications","volume":"11 suppl_1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129319962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this investigation, two well-known DOA estimation algorithms, MUltiple SIgnal Classification (MUSIC) and Minimum Variance Distortionless Response (MVDR) are modelled and simulated in new proposed array geometry. This paper provides a comparison between Uniform Linear Array (ULA) and Proposed Array (PA) geometries in resolving narrowband signal sources located closely. Proposed array adds two elements to the ULA in top and bottom of the array axis. DOA estimation performance has been compared in terms of accuracy and resolution threshold. Simulation results show that ULA cannot detect the sources located at close angles to the array endfire as well as middle angles and isn't able to resolve closely spaced sources in this area successfully. The proposed array can remove this drawback while having an identical accuracy for middle angles. Consequently, by using the proposed array, a better resolution and performance is achieved for the border angles with almost the same array size and computational complexity in both MUSIC and MVDR algorithms.","PeriodicalId":306663,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International Symposium on Telecommunications","volume":"464 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115868675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many technologies (radio frequency, ultrasound) have been deployed with advantages and drawbacks regarding the specific demanded application. They are compared together from several aspects such as coverage area, accuracy and health concern in this paper. A structural methodology based on multi attribute decision making will be recommended to facilitate system selection, based on managers' priorities and organization infrastructure. Then we compare performances of this new algorithm and three existing bee algorithms, i.e. the artificial bee colony (ABC), the queen bee (QB), and the fast marriage in honey bee optimization (FMBO) on four benchmark functions for various numbers of variables up to 100. The obtained results show that the modified algorithm is faster than the others in most cases. Especially for Griewank and Schwefel functions by increasing precision of answer and number of variables, the difference between the speeds of the FMBO and MFMBO becomes prominent. In general the MFMBO algorithm is quite competitive with the other mentioned algorithms.","PeriodicalId":306663,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International Symposium on Telecommunications","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114288005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditionally, the correlation coefficient of separated signal envelopes is calculated to determine if the separated signals originate from the same source. Recently, a new measure has been proposed, which represents the dominance of the separated signals in the mixtures based on the power-ratio, instead of separated signal envelopes. In this paper, we use the interfrequency correlation between measures of power-ratio of the separated signals in the mixtures to solve the permutation problem. Experimental results show that our method provides an almost perfect solution to the permutation problem for the case, where two sources are mixed in a room whose reverberation time is 130 ms.","PeriodicalId":306663,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International Symposium on Telecommunications","volume":"339 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116193926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this scheme, consecutive phase modulated data symbols are convolved using random weights and the convolved symbols are sent simultaneously over a multi input - single output channel. The legitimate channel is estimated at the transmitter side using pilot symbols transmitted from the legitimate user. It is shown that randomization across timeslots compensates for the constraint on the length of data packets as well as the required number of receive antennas.","PeriodicalId":306663,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International Symposium on Telecommunications","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126098848","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the scheme, whenever the relay can decode multiple messages of the users, it jointly encodes them using a larger rateless code. Our approach is invariant to the scale and rotation of the objects. We use Structural Context feature to detect object parts. It is done comparing SC histograms of the model and image. We extract oriented triplets from centers of detected parts. We define grammar for these parts using normalize distances and angles between them. We propose and compare two alternative implementations using different classifiers: Hidden Markov Model with mixture of Gaussian outputs (MHMM) and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference system (ANFIS) to learn this grammar and estimate parameters of the model for each object class. The proposed method is computationally efficient and it is invariant to scale and rotation.
