The use of advanced high strength steels was highly interested in research and industry applications. These materials have special forming properties such as high strength and high elongation value but in forming processes the main problem is the large amount of spring back. It occurs after released the workpiece from the die cavity and makes problem in the assembly process. This paper shows the geometry comparison between the result of reinforcement part's finite element forming simulation using different material models and the actual forming part. The reinforcement part was produced from advanced high strength steel grade DP980. The part's measurements used “Best fit” function to define the displacement deviations between actual part and simulated part. The obtained results shown the using of Yoshida-Uemori (Y-U) material model combined with Barlat 1989 (Yield89) yield criteria have the less of variation value compared with the other models. This result can mentions using of Y-U model combined with Yield89 is suitable for reinforcement part's and the other similar shape parts die simulation.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124770577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a preliminary survey conducted to 300 students, 86.67 percent of respondents admitted that they were not aware of the existence of the IMS policy, a sad truth for the university considering it had been promoting awareness for the past years. An infographic applying cognitive ergonomics principles was designed to increase attention and memory retention and two methods of information dissemination were utilized - through social media and through in-campus postings on bulletin boards strategically situated in hallways and stairways. After a period of five weeks, a post survey was performed to verify if the awareness campaign was successful. Using paired sample t-test, results revealed that the respondents agreed that they are attracted, influenced, and happy or satisfied with the design of the infographic. In addition, the use of both social media postings and posters on bulletin boards made the students aware and familiar with the IMS policy. They had a change in outlook by helping the environment, gained sufficient information to promote awareness and understood the content of the infographic. Respondents also strongly agreed that social media posts and bulletin board posters are effective and resulted in positive promotion of awareness in the school's community. Respondents also became more aware of the existence of the IMS policy, became more familiar with its content and since the IMS infographic has sufficient information, understood its content and the information being relayed. The findings in this study denoted that a properly designed information campaign material and the use of two platforms of communication can help increase awareness and influence the community.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124850885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method presents the prevention of metal-to-metal contact between the workpiece and die surfaces. The method consists of: (1) bending using 1-mm-thick high-density polyethylene between the steel die and the aluminum alloy workpiece for preventing the touching surface; (2) bending using a polytetrafluoroethylene polymer for die making; (3) bending using a polyoxymethylene polymer for die making. The results show that the first method did not protect the workpiece surface from die marks after bending while the second and third methods did. However, using an elastic material to make the die causes a large elastic deformation and also affects the shape quality of the bent workpiece. This problem can be improved by choosing a type of polymer that has low elastic properties and designing a structure of the die to help to improve its stiffness.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125471061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We consider a two-stage supply chain consisting of a mobile health service platform and a contracted doctor. In order to coordinate the supply chain, we design an incentive mechanism by combining principal-agent theory and two-part tariff contract. The numerical examples show some interesting findings:(1) Through optimizing the signing fee and commission rate, the incentive mechanism can motivate the doctor to provide services at an optimal efforts level, so as to eliminate the negative impact of information asymmetry on the supply chain. (2) In the proposed model with the doctors' efforts level information asymmetry, the mobile health service platform can increase its profit by increasing the penalty fee, service sales price, signing fee and commission rate.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"11 Suppl 15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130193337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the year 2012 to 2018, a total of 31,978 families has evacuated in 19 typhoons. The city has aNon-structural mitigation flood protocol implemented to address flood risk and damages as well as to mitigate potential life loss through regulations and best management practices. However, the preemptive evacuation program cannot guarantee that all affected families can be evacuated on time. Currently, the evacuation time during pre-emptive evacuation exceeds the working hours of Marikina City by 3.25 hours. For this reason, the study aims to systematically review the flood management actions of Marikina City and its impact on the community through survey and historical data, identify the significant factors affecting the evacuation time, and subsequently improve its flood protocol system. Statistical analyses and transportation model were used to determine the (1) minimum travel time per family per trip, (2) required number of responders and vehicles per pick-up-point, (3) number of monitoring personnel needed per evacuation center, and (4) optimal allocation of the evacuees in the evacuation centers available. Lastly, Job descriptions and job specifications for every personnel involved, including work instruction manuals and standard operating procedures for specific and clear instructions of activities that have to be done during preemptive evacuation were recommended in this study.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"2010 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127340748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to counteract these requirements, both development and production processes must be tailored to the new challenges. In addition to the optimization measures, production companies must also consider technology aspects related to climate targets, as already mentioned. A trend that is gaining ground in the automotive industry, as well as in many other industries (e.g. aviation, aerospace, etc.), is the approach of weight reduction through the introduction of new lightweight materials and material combinations. With regard to the automotive sector, the reduction of the total weight as well as further approaches (e.g. new propulsion technologies) have a large potential to contribute to a reduction of exhaust emissions. These changes in the area of materials and the associated joining technology are driving the automotive industry to a significantly change of the data exchange processes between development environments (e.g. CAD - Computer-Aided Design, CAE - Computer-Aided – Engineering) and production-related environments (CAM - Computer-Aided Manufacturing). This paper deals with the data exchange processes of production-relevant information within automotive development and provides an approach to close the gap in this area. Furthermore, the presented approach of a tailor-made optimized data exchange process for production engineering shows an enormous time and cost reduction, and thus an earlier market entry date of products.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121400688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The virtual prototype model of rigid-flexible coupling of five-axis gantry machining center was established by using CAE software, and kinematic simulation was conducted on the rigid-flexible coupling virtual prototype model of different components. The average, standard deviation, maximum and final error of the offset of the machining center during tool tip movement were used as evaluation criteria to evaluate the degree of influence of different components on the dynamic stiffness of the five-axis gantry machining center. Compared with the results of simulation analysis, it is found that the dynamic stiffness of the slide and beam structural members in the X and Z directions of the machining center is weak, and the dynamic stiffness of the ram in the Y direction of the machining center is weak. Finally, by optimizing the material of the slide structure, the dynamic stiffness performance of the machining center is greatly improved, and the accuracy of the identification method is verified.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"212 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131712017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to measure the width, thickness or depth of the nut used in the commercial car, previously in Thai Steel Cable Company used the caliper to measure size of the automotive nut operated by human as an sample test inspection. Even the result on this technique is high accuracy, however; there are some disadvantages based on this method such as human error, idle time and also fatigue by the human. Therefore, this research focus on the development of the new measurement technique that utilized industrial camera together with the image processing algorithm to measure the entire nut with 100% inspection test. Circular Hough Transform (CHT) is applied to be the basic concept used for finding the circle position and measuring nut diameter. Although the CHT technique can measure diameter of the interested nut, but the result's accuracy is not acceptable due to measuring error from the various range of light condition. This research proposed the new technique, Adaptive Gray Level Mapping algorithm (AGLM) to increase the quality of the input picture before measuring the radius by CHT technique. Moreover, the beta in AGLM is optimized by particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique that applies 50% of nut data and other is used for validate. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed AGLM combined PSO that increase the accuracy of the visual measuring method via compare to the conventional threshold with CHT technique.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127033122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
