However, training and execution require high computing power. This is crucial in applications with real-time constraints since mobile systems have limited resources. Current approaches do not consider the usage of 3D-sensing. Furthermore, suggested system architectures solely focus on cloud- and edge-computing in combination with load balancing and parallelization for a distributed execution of DNNs. In contrast, we propose a novel system architecture for the distributed and context aware usage of DNNs for image processing tasks in mobile 3D-multi-sensor systems. Thereby, the scalable cloud- and edge-infrastructure is complemented by realtime capable and energy-efficient FPGA-computing. The publishsubscriber pattern facilitates the distributed execution of DNNs as well as their dynamic deployment. Moreover, context information is considered. Thus, a rule-based context model dynamically loads specialized DNNs and selects appropriate devices for execution. Finally, a case-study on a mobile 3D-multi-sensor system for wheeled walkers demonstrates applicability and benefits of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132066672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, extensive studies on the vehicle routing problem with cross-docking (VRPCD) only considered the forward flow instead of the reverse flow. Motivated by the ability of a VRPCD network to minimize the distribution cost in the forward flow, this research incorporates the reverse logistics scheme in a VRPCD network, namely the VRP with reverse cross-docking (VRPRCD). We propose a VRPRCD mathematical model for a four-level supply chain network that involves suppliers, cross-dock, customers, and outlets. The main objective is to minimize vehicle operational and transportation costs. Experimental results show that only small instances of newly generated VRPRCD instances can be optimally solved by CPLEX. Furthermore, we present sensitivity analysis towards the cost structure.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114336843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Time-between-failure (TBF) and time-to-repair (TTR) data are collected to estimate reliability, availability, maintainability, dependability, and mean-time between hazardous failures (MTBH). The dependability parameters are solely applied to those subsystems that have both constant failure rate and repair rate. Various measures of plant performance such as MTTR and MTBF are as well presented. Performance modeling of the system is carried out based on the assumption that both repair and failure data are statistically independent. To show the application of the proposed method, the NPK fertilizer production line as a repairable production system has been provided for performance evaluation. The records of failure and repair data can be a useful database for the management of NPK fertilizer production line to improve system reliability.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114759631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study focuses on solving stochastic HES problem with random service time to minimize the expected total cost. To solve this problem, a two-stage simulation optimization algorithm is proposed. To further enhance the efficiency of the simulation, ordinal optimization (OO) strategy is adopted and genetic algorithm (GA) is used as an iterative optimization strategy. The optimal computational budget allocation (OCBA) method is embedded into the rough simulation evaluation stage of the GAOO algorithm, thereby forming a global and adaptive optimization allocation mechanism of simulation resources. Finally, the computational results show that the proposed algorithm outperform the heuristic scheduling rules by achieving better solutions.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131958857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Customer churn is a critical measure for this business. Thus, this paper focuses on seeking a customer churn prediction model for a Software-as-a-Service inventory management software company in Thailand which is facing a high churn rate. This paper executes the prediction models with four machine learning algorithms: logistic regression, support vector machine, decision tree and random forest. The random forest model is capable to provide lowest error with 10-fold cross validation average scores of 91.6% recall and 92.6% F1-score. Moreover, feature importance scores can highlight useful insights of case-study that business metrics are significantly related to churn behavior. As a result, this paper is beneficial to the case-study company to help indicate real churn customer and enhance the effectiveness in executive decision and marketing campaign.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128581204","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traditional parcel sorting systems mostly use a network of conveyor segments, which is difficult to change the layout once set up and occupies a large area. This paper analyzes a layout problem using autonomous robots for parcel sorting. A newly-designed model is formulated to optimize both system throughput and cost. Furthermore, we have built an M/M/s queueing model to estimate the throughput of the system. Besides, we have designed a global search algorithm to solve the models. Numerical experiments analyze the effects of different system parameters on system throughput, including the length-width ratio, the number and layout of workstations and containers, and the number of automated guided vehicles. The research can provide some management insights for the layout planning of parcel sorting systems in practical applications.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"36 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133250198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a new robust approach is developed for the linear problems in which the model parameters are dependent on each other. The proposed approach converts the linear model to an equivalent integer linear programming one using the primal and dual theorem. The results of the paper indicate the ability of the new approach in fixing some inconsistency of the common robust optimization approach for the mentioned problem.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122201106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Individual studies on musculoskeletal disorders from jeepney, taxi, and bus drivers were undertaken but there is no study to evaluate these three transport drivers and provide ergonomic interventions among them. In this regard, the paper intends to assess the degree of musculoskeletal disorders on significant factors affecting the three transport motor vehicles with respect to demographic profiles and tasks drivers perform. It also intends to assess the level of musculoskeletal discomforts of body parts of transport motor vehicle drivers from the identified significant factors, and propose ergonomic interventions to address prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among the three transport drivers. Assessment on the MSDs of these transport drivers using CMDQ and RULA were undertaken. Moreover, the analysis of significance among various factors to their body parts was undertaken using the Chi-square test and regression analysis. The results showed that there was significant association on the body parts of jeepney, taxi and bus drivers on the CMDQ and RULA values. The three transport drivers indicated that their neck, lower back, lower legs, upper arm and wrists were the top five most common body parts with MSDs. As such, the paper recommends proposed ergonomics interventions for these four body parts.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125775576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bone drilling is classed as one of the most sensitive milling processes in biomedical engineering field. One of the most critical problems encountered during bone drilling is high cutting force which causes an increase in temperature rise more than the tolerable limit. Optimum concentration is also needed, in order to avoid extended cracks due to high vibration which could also cause more damage to the surrounding tissues, experimental results showed that it is better to keep bone external temperature below 50°C, if exceeded, the bone could be exposed to serious damage called thermal osteonecrosis which can result to loose of bone implant interface. Previous studies are only limited to investigate the relationship between the cutting force and temperature. However, the concept of this research work is an eye opener, which will also help us to predict the relationship between drilling vibration frequency and the temperature rise of the bone. Our discovery shows that vibrational drilling is good for surgical bone drilling, when applied moderately, a drastic reduction in bone temperature was observed, this could be used as a standard procedure to prevent necrosis during surgical bone drilling. Reduction in the cutting force and increase vibrational (frequency) is good for bone drilling, and this is to be investigated in this research work.","PeriodicalId":306461,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 7th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125995365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
