A quasi experimental design is used in this study to identify the causal impact of an intervention on target population without random assignment when the treatments were given. The subjects of this study were the seventh grade students of junior high school. The finding of t-test obtained was 3.865 which were higher than t-table 2.08. However, the students find that writing is difficult to learn due to some cases: (1) they are less interested in it because it is not correlated with their major, (2) the limited time availability (3) the teaching learning process is less meaningful, and (4) they are lack of feedback due to the big number of students in one class. To overcome this problem, it is advisable to apply what so called integrated project based learning (PBL) by integrating writing to recount the project dealing with the students’ major. This paper describes how the integrated PBL can enhance the students’ writing skill through two main stages: (1) preparation stage. It is embodying grouping, determining the project work, determining the schedule, and learning the content as well as how to write a recount text in the classroom. (2) individual writing activity which covers (a) free writing; (b) drafting; (c) evaluating (peer reviewing and teacher learner conference); (d) revising; (e) post writing; (f) publishing in a social media; and (g) responding the social media reader’s comment.","PeriodicalId":305947,"journal":{"name":"ELLITE: Journal of English Language, Literature, and Teaching","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131683070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In relation to language teaching and learning, digital media has invaded the classroom. Unfortunately, during professional training the writer’s gave, those English teachers who belonged to ‘well prepared’ for this sort of media was very few. These teachers used a laptop with certain learning materials which were prepared prior to teaching and an LCD projector and/or speakers on the desk. In general, their teaching and learning seemed to be more interesting due to technology touch. They created an image of being creative, and above all, innovative. This paper discusses how technology, in this case digital teaching media, supports teaching and learning; then, outlines the problems facing EFL teachers; and, finally, suggests possible solutions to the problems. Obviously, this paper is meant to promote professional teaching and contribute to future researches on similar topic.","PeriodicalId":305947,"journal":{"name":"ELLITE: Journal of English Language, Literature, and Teaching","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128956516","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Then, the researchaimed to find the effect of using Three Step Interview on students’ writingachievement. It investigated whether students taught by using Three StepInterview technique showed better result in writing descriptive text than students who were taught by lecturing method. This is a quasi-experimental research. The subjects of this research were 35 students of seventh grade at MTs BaitulHikmah. The researcher used two groups that is Experimental and ControlGroups were given a writing test to measure their writing achievement. The datawas collected by giving pre-test and post-test focusing on writing descriptivetext. After the data were tested and found to be homogeneous variance anddistribution of the data is normal, the hypothesis was tested using IndependentSample T-test in SPSS Version 23 which showed that the significant valuesis 0,003. The value is lower than significances level of 5% which means thatNull Hypothesis (H0) is rejected. So, Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using ThreeStepInterview on Students Writing Achievement at MTs Baitul Hikmah in 2017/2018 academic year.","PeriodicalId":305947,"journal":{"name":"ELLITE: Journal of English Language, Literature, and Teaching","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133458525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
