The aim of the work is to reduce the cost and size of a brushless dc motor (BLDC) drive as well as increase the reliability and ruggedness of the drive. Traditional BLDC drives use Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) that utilize hard switching, thereby generating switching losses and entail the use of large heat sinks. VSI needs a huge dc link capacitor that is inherently unreliable and is one of the most expensive components of the drive. Hence, a Current Source Inverter (CSI) is used to replace the hard switching by soft switching, thereby eliminating the heat sinks as well as the large dc link capacitor. A controlled rectifier together with a large inductor acts as a current source, the only disadvantage is the large value of the dc link inductor and the huge number of turns needed to achieve these values of the inductances lead to huge resistive losses. Therefore, it is shown that it is possible to replace the controller rectifier and the large inductor with a suitable Buck converter based current source inverter can be switched at high frequencies with much smaller value of the dc link inductor without increasing the current ripples. Hence, it is possible to have the advantage of using a CSI as well as reduce the value of the dc link inductor without a corresponding increase in the heat sink. This paper presents the three different methods namely, Equivalent Reactive compensation(ERC), Modified Ybus and Power flow tracing to determine or measure the reactive power output from a particular generator to particular load. It also presents the electricity tracing method in detail with an algorithm of apportioning the transmission loss to individual loads or generator. This Method can be useful in providing additional insight into power system operation and can be used to modify existing tariffs of charging for transmission loss, reactive power and transmission services. In this paper, a simple tuning system is used to continuously tune the controller parameters in correspondence with the change in operating points. For each stable operating point, a FOPTD model was identified using process reaction curve method. The estimated model parameters are used to calculate the controller parameters for each operating points. Based on these calculated controller parameters and its operating points, a tuning system was created. The tuning system will able to interpolate and extrapolate the relation between control variable and the controller parameters over entire span of control variables. Finally, a detailed time-domain modeling of the conical tank was performed. Then the adaptive PI controller was implemented in Matlab and was simulated to verify its performance. Here the parameters of the PV module have been obtained from the datasheet. The performance analysis of PV module has been carried out under uniform and non-uniform conditions such as change in irradiation, change in temperature, accumulation of dust and change in wind forces using MATLAB-Simulink environment. From the obtained results, it has been observed that for a given number of PV modules, the array configurations affects the maximum available output power where more local maxima are found under partially shaded conditions. Moreover the comparative analysis of PV module has been performed under various configurations like series, parallel and series-parallel for the above disturbances condition. A methodology for the use of this modulation is proposed and applied in different group of rectifier. For each group of rectifier the converter switching techniques are analyzed to determine switch control signals for space vector modulation. One switching sequence is proposed for all rectifiers in order to minimize the number of switch commutations and reduce the switching losses thereby improving performance of the converter. Switching sequences are determined and performed by a simple space vector pulse width modulation. Two level converter topology is introduced in order to maintain constant output voltage and reduce the number of sensors and controllers. The dual-fed structure is realized by opening the neutral-point of the conventional squirrel cage induction motor. The six-level inversion is obtained by feeding the dual-fed induction motor with asymmetrical three-level inverter from one end and symmetrical three-level inverter from other end. The proposed space vector pulse width modulation technique does not require the sector information and look-up tables to select the appropriate switching vectors. But in these converters as the number of staircase levels in output voltage increases the dc source requirement also increases, thereby limiting its application. This paper tries to address the above mentioned problem by developing a Modified version of Cascaded Multilevel Converters which require reduced number of dc voltage source for increased levels in output voltage as compared to conventional cascaded converters. Due to these advantages the drawback in the implementation of conventional cascaded converters in electric Vehicles or in industrial applications is overcome by modified cascaded inverters. The output of the Cascaded H bridge converter given to SRM drive. The main draw backs of SRM are torque ripple, vibrations and acoustics of noise. With the increasing importance of environmental interactions, several innovations of the environmental performance are introduced in automotive industry. One aspect of innovation is an environmental material selection including renewable raw materials. The uses of cellulosic fibers have ranged from the construction industry to the automotive industry. The main attraction of bio-fiber reinforced composites lie in their low density and high strength. Polymer composites of a polycarbonate coated with natural fabric Grewia tilifolia were studied by means of dielectric properties in the frequency range 100 Hz to 1 MHz and temperature interval from 40°C to 160°C. It was found that the dielectric properties are lower for the treated (for both treated and treated with coupling agent) then that of the untreated (for both untreated and untreated with coupling agent) one. The face image obtained from the user is cropped such that only the frontal face image is extracted, eliminating the background. The image is restricted to a size of 128 × 128 pixels. All images in the database are gray level images. DCT is applied to the entire image. This gives DCT coefficients, which are global features. Local features such as eyes, nose and mouth are also extracted and DCT is applied to these features. Depending upon the recognition rate obtained for each feature, they are given weightage and then combined. Both local and global features are used for comparison.
