Job satisfaction is vital for personal well-being and organizational effectiveness (Lim, 2008). Job satisfaction has been a significant contemporary issue (Akpofure et al., 2006). An employee who is satisfied with his job will perform his duties well and be committed to his job, and subsequently to his organization. Thus, it is of utmost importance for employers to know the factors that can affect their employees’ job satisfaction level since it can affect the performance of the organization as well; this is especially true in the university sector. The excellence of a university is directly related to the excellence of its faculty members; higher education is the foundation for nearly all professional careers. Higher education plays an important role in the socio-economic development of a country. Due to the fast pace of growing technology and changing environment, today countries such as Sri Lanka are concerned about to be more adaptable to these changing trends, helping them to face the challenges of the globalized world. The main purpose of this study was to examine whether the remuneration of the state university lectures had an impact on their overall job satisfaction and to assess the overall level of job satisfaction of university lectures of state universities in Sri Lanka. A quantitative approach was employed in this study, and a structured questionnaire was used to collect data from university lectures in fifteen state universities in Sri Lanka. Out of fifteen state universities, a representative sample based on a multi-stage stratified random sampling method was used, where 500 questionnaires were distributed and 423 questionnaires deemed usable for further analysis were identified. In terms of findings, the multiple regression analysis performed to test the research hypothesis on the relationship between remuneration and overall job satisfaction indicated that the factor ‘remuneration’ is a significant positive factor affecting the overall lectures job satisfaction of academics in Sri Lankan state universities. Further, in terms of the overall job satisfaction of academic staff members of Sri Lankan state universities, the median and mean values of were found to be 3.95 and 3.93 (in a 1-5 Likert scale), respectively, and in addition, the mean value was also found to be significantly higher than the neural value 3 (based on one-sample t-test). This means that the university lectures are generally satisfied with their jobs in the Sri Lankan context.

The study has been conducted by qualitative content analysis. An \u0000individual depth interview method has been applied to collect data from six food supply chain \u0000managers in different restaurants and cafeterias operating in Klang valley area of Malaysia. Data \u0000has been analyzed systematically using Nvivo version 12 computer program. The study found that \u0000there is a significant lack of priorities in management practices regarding food waste reduction and \u0000knowledge gap by the foodservice operators in line with sustainable food consumption. Such a \u0000study is necessary to come up with creative ideas on how food waste can be reduced in the retail \u0000foodservice industry. Despite the globalised world we live in now, most of the Algerian societies are still conservative. In this paper, I shed light on the relationship between religion and culture in Algeria and unveil the nature of this reciprocal relationship by digging into the religious jurisprudence and social practices of Algerians. This paper discusses the religious practices in Algeria and their effect on the Algerian social practices including cultural practices. It explores the various religious jurisprudence and clarifies their ideologies. This paper also stresses that the tenets and beliefs of religion are one but the interpretation of individuals varies accordingly. The article also shows that a large proportion of Algerian culture is derived from Islamic beliefs and therefore the practices echo people’s religious belongings. This paper aims to show that religion is the main source that can explain most of the people's social and cultural practices.

The government of Malaysia announced the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), where no education institutions can practice face-to-face learning. Therefore, the management of the University of Malaya has decided that all students will learn online until 31 December 2020. Hence, this study is conducted to investigate the new students’ readiness on online learning before their classes start. The survey was conducted using Google Form focusing on four main aspects of readiness, that is the students’ background, hardware readiness, software readiness and behaviour. The behaviour aspect includes experiences, opinions, and expectation on online learning. 1126 students consisting of 546 (48.5%) males and 580 (51.5%) females participated in this survey. From the survey, we found that 1013 (90%) students are ready with online learning. However, action must be taken to assist the remaining 113 (10%) students. Alarmingly, 563 (50%) students have not experienced online learning before. 900 (80%) students claimed that they are ready to learn online. Hopefully, this research will provide some insights on the current situation and problems regarding online learning and its remedy can be prepared to overcome it. \u0000Keywords: Online Learning, E-Learning, Readiness Assessment, Covid-19, Coronavirus, Pandemic, Movement Control Order, Pre-University Students
