This sequence family is generated by interleaving two Legendre sequences of period p and p+2, respectively. The balance properties of such family is evaluated, and for most cases the exact expressions for the linear complexity of each sequence are also given. The proposed virtually bounded DSA scheme (VBS) takes a different approach to fairly manage the spectrum resources in response to temporal deviation in spectrum demands. In particular, a new concept of dynamic virtual boundary is introduced. Based on this concept, the VBS dynamically adjusts the virtual boundaries of spectrum blocks dedicated for the primary systems to reduce the occurrences where the insertion of guard bands is obligatory and consequently provides better spectral efficiency than existing Fragmented and Contiguous DSA schemes.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128169340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In MC-CDMA systems, a number of sub carriers per user are used for the high-rate data transmission, and each data modulated by a different sub earlier is transmitted through a different frequency band. Each data undergoes a different channel condition and arrives with a different error rate at the base station. By transmitting message data based on the channel state information (CSI), a new data transmission scheme called \"optimal bit and power allocation algorithm in multi-carrier CDMA\" is introduced in this paper. Simulated results have shown that the scheme yields a higher system capacity than a conventional MC-CDMA.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132958520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For one check node update of normalized min-sum algorithm, if the current row weight is dc, dc multiplications are needed. If dc is large, dc multiplications are needed, which leads to high complexity. In this article, one innovative method for check node update has been found, which can obviously reduce the number of multiplication operations for the normalized min-sum algorithm and the number of comparison/selection operations for the row weight matched min-sum algorithm of high rate LDPC codes. Simulations have claimed the performance of normalized min-sum and row weight matched min-sum is nearly the same as that of Log-BP, namely the optimal algorithm, which has shown that normalized min-sum and row weight matched min-sum are good choices for LDPC.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133474791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sub-carriers of the DFT based OvFDM/NOFDM communication system are overlapped together and the bandwidth can be larger than the frequency coherence bandwidth, so a kind of implicit frequency diversity will be exploited by the MLSD receiver, which will improve the system performance. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that zero-padding cyclic-prefix has a much better performance than the conventional cyclic-prefix. The implicit frequency diversity ability of the OvFDM-DFT symbols is also verified by the simulations.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132228619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

High performance in non-stationary noisy environments is achieved by combining the following two techniques: the speech detection based on the bone-conductive microphone signal, and non-stationary noise suppression by adaptive spectral subtraction. Unlike regular air-conductive microphones, bone-conductive microphones are insensitive to environmental noises and background speech. By employing this advantage, we are able to detect very robustly speech in non-stationary noisy environments. Furthermore, based on the reliable speech detection results, the adaptive spectral subtraction can operate effectively even under low SNR conditions.","PeriodicalId":303512,"journal":{"name":"2007 3rd International Workshop on Signal Design and Its Applications in Communications","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115987036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
