Their tiny and autonomous characteristic serves as an advantage as well as a disadvantage for their deployment and operational use. Their small size makes them resource deficient and adds a constraint on their performance and behavior in the network. Contrary to this, their small size is beneficial for many application areas where the sensors should not be visible while monitoring the environment. The wireless sensor comes with many advantages when used in a variety of environments for monitoring and tracking purposes. There are few challenges that are associated with the wireless sensor networks viz. energy deficient, fault tolerance, security, data aggregation to name a few. Machine learning algorithms play an important role to minimize the impact of these challenges to optimize the functionality of these networks by addressing networking issues and data processing issues.","PeriodicalId":303401,"journal":{"name":"2018 Fifth International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Grid Computing (PDGC)","volume":"269 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123049212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Securing the data in the direct or indirect presence of untrusted people is more difficult. Sometimes data or system hackers involve in aggregating in publicly massive data set, copy it and store it in an exceedingly devices like USB drives, Disc or in Laptops. When considering about security of big data, it should be concerned about all aspects of security related to big data i.e. infrastructure security, network security, data security, data privacy, transaction logs management and so on. In this paper, we review the background and state-of the art of big data. Initially a general introduction of big data and security of big data has been presented followed by its related technologies including; Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Software Defined Networks and Machine Learning. We then focus on already existing security problems of big data and their vital solutions. For each categorization we identify the security issues, security attacks, with their prevention and detection solutions. The aim of this work is to provide a comprehensive overview and pinpoint the big data security issues. Finally the paper is concluded with some open issue of security problem of big data and their tentative solutions.","PeriodicalId":303401,"journal":{"name":"2018 Fifth International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Grid Computing (PDGC)","volume":"355 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115933863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The points in the set correspond to a collection of restriction sites that reflects the points of cleaves of a DNA sequence on addition of a restriction enzyme into a DNA solution. The PDP problem bears analogy to the “turnpike reconstruction problem” of computer science where the points dwell on a line and the “beltway problem” where the points reside on a loop. Although the partial digest problem has numerous applications in genetics, yet it is computationally hard to solve. In fact the NP-complete nature of PDP for random dataset and the NP-hard nature for Zhang instances have attracted numerous researchers to trim its execution time. Several approaches ranging from pseudo-polynomial time algorithms to genetic algorithms and backtracking algorithms have been suggested for PDP. This paper presents an algorithm which reduces the search space significantly for the application of backtracking. The connection based PDP algorithm (CPDP) proposed here gives exact results when run for random as well as hard instances of data as defined by Zhang.","PeriodicalId":303401,"journal":{"name":"2018 Fifth International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Grid Computing (PDGC)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117187471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It requires more attention of ours to switch over in Open-Source rather to invest and compete with proprietary software. In this model, we have considered a seesaw model which balances open-source software and proprietary software by a balance beam of free software. We have taken in consideration two fields (i.e) competition and investment to compare the consumer's interest areas and to know about their choices in current scenario. On putting loads of consumers on one side we can also recorded that the beam balance (free software) moves automatically towards the adjacent software and enrich the given software, in both fields whether it is related to competition or in terms of consumer's investment. This model analysis on points of fully covered market and partly covered market, which shows the current trends of consumer's interest and their profit maximization policies.","PeriodicalId":303401,"journal":{"name":"2018 Fifth International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Grid Computing (PDGC)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125342279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Routing metrics and the Rank allocation to the nodes is defined by the objective function in order to maintain the acyclic nature of DAG. However, this rank characteristic of RPL can be manipulated to launch a list of attacks. These attacks can severely affect network performance especially by draining energy of network nodes. In this paper, we investigate the impact of increased rank attack when launched at critical points of network infrastructure and proposed a distributed algorithm to prevent it. Simulations are used to validate the aforesaid attack. Result shows that if critical points are selected in advance, then the impact of the attack can be reduced around 98% as compared to other path validation methods. The proposed mechanism incurs only 4.55% of additional energy.","PeriodicalId":303401,"journal":{"name":"2018 Fifth International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Grid Computing (PDGC)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134365452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The growth of clean renewable generation in power sector has accelerated over the last decade due to: increasing environmental consciousness; technological progress in storage devices & wind/solar energy conversion systems; and other economic factors. Consequently, there is an extensive focus on this domain and several models have been proposed in recent years for reliable and efficient assimilation of intermittent renewable sources in the power system to reduce burden on the utility grid. This paper presents a simulation of wind/solar/battery hybrid system with utility grid acting as back-up support for supplying a variable load using simulink tool. Wind turbine generator and photovoltaic ($boldsymbol{P}boldsymbol{V}$) array are used as primary energy suppliers to the load. To match power and demand, switching of grid connection and battery is done by using a neuro-fuzzy controller.","PeriodicalId":303401,"journal":{"name":"2018 Fifth International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Grid Computing (PDGC)","volume":"11 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132147923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since cloud user and demands increasing exponentially, the service provider needs to manage the recourse accordingly so that maximum profit can be provide to the service provider as well as cloud user with the quality of service constraint (QoS). To maintain QoS, service level agreement (SLA) violation rate, energy consumption by resources, cost, and execution time should be less. The energy efficiency and SLA violation rate are the major focused key point of this work. In this paper, energy consumption has been reducing through self-optimization, and SLA violation rate is minimized by self-healing methods and separate faulty VM from the resource pool. In continue, the operating cost of resources has been optimizing and less execution time has recorded. The proposed method is simulated in cloudsim toolkit, evaluates the performance metrics with a different set of workloads and the observation of this research and its experimental results and comparative analysis with existing frameworks are evidence of utmost performance.","PeriodicalId":303401,"journal":{"name":"2018 Fifth International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Grid Computing (PDGC)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114785385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also used extensively in designing cancer classification techniques. But the enormity of genomic features and the lesser number of samples data make cancer classification a tedious task. This paper presents a novel hybrid metaheuristic optimization algorithm which is based on Differential Evolution (DE) and recently developed Spotted Hyena Optimizer (SHO) named as Hybrid Differential Evolutions and Spotted Hyena Optimizer (HDESHO) for cancer classification. The main contribution of this algorithm is to improve the mutation strategy of differential evolution using the spotted hyena optimizer algorithm. After the initial gene selection different machine learning algorithms were employed for performing cancer classification. The results state that the proposed approach outperforms as compared to the method discussed in the literature.","PeriodicalId":303401,"journal":{"name":"2018 Fifth International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Grid Computing (PDGC)","volume":"13 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123646895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
