This paper aims to examine the relationship between government financial grants, internal revenue and maternal mortality rate. Previous literature has suggested that to achieve better health outcomes, multiple factors including but not limited to finance must be taken into consideration. Secondary data from audited annual health reports (2014/15 – 2018/19) of the nine South African Provinces was analyzed with the employment of the panel data regression technique.  Internal Government Revenue was statistically significant at a 5% level of significance (p < 0.05) and Government Financial Grant was not statistically significant (p >0.05).  Maternal mortality rate is therefore dependent on internal revenue and not on government financial grants. The findings change the ancient saying that maternal health outcomes shall improve when the government pumps more finances into the health system. Instead, the study reveals that internal revenue generation has an impact on the maternal mortality rate thus bringing in another approach in the fight against maternal mortality. The study adds value to the public health administration in that it brings a different perspective on the fight against maternal mortality in South Africa. ","PeriodicalId":30298,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Management and Marketing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47249001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A systematic review and comparative study were conducted to compare the strategic competencies of executives in Canada, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. These are considered leading countries in service provision. The study proposes that municipalities should be visionary and result-driven, and engage people, while collaborating with relevant stakeholders to achieve desired results. The study further recommends that municipal role players adopt strategic leadership to achieve change through a planning and development process that involves assessing future goals and mapping specific actions. Furthermore, municipalities should achieve their goals through a strategic process of analysis, formulation, implementation, and evaluation, all of which entail a number of constituent tasks.","PeriodicalId":30298,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Management and Marketing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46691299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was carried out in higher learning institutions situated in Dodoma city. The study employed a stratified random sampling technique to select a sample. The study adopted a cross-sectional research design whereas a questionnaire survey was used to collect quantitative data from a sample of 326 students from higher learning institutions. Descriptive statistics were used to compute the quality of services using perceived service quality (P) and expected service quality (E). Inferential statistics involved a binary logistic regression model to estimate the effect of service quality dimensions and compliance on customer satisfaction. The findings show that service quality in higher education was perceived by students to be below their expectations. The findings from logit model revealed that tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, empathy, assurance and compliance were important variables in predicting students’ satisfaction in higher education.","PeriodicalId":30298,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Management and Marketing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44639414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It presents the layers of computerisation, which are pivotal to the application of accounting software, namely the hardware, the application, and system software. Furthermore, it highlights accounting software with selected examples from the Sage Accounting Software and notes significant advantage of applying the accounting software into accounting operations. These include amongst others integration of different items and different segments, speed, reliability, volume, storage, virtual, and real-time concurrent operations. It highlights nascent threat to computerisation and remote accounting processing, namely the ransom-ware cyber-attack. Therefore, the development of new anti-cyber-attack accounting software becomes very pertinent.","PeriodicalId":30298,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Management and Marketing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43096124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Researchers found that the main factors influencing earnings management can be grouped under internal and external corporate governance aspects. This study proposed a comprehensive model combining some internal and external corporate governance factors affecting earnings management. Based on a review and synthesis of relevant literature, the current study concludes that audit committee characteristics, auditor reputation and audit opinion have a significant impact on earnings management. Further, we predict that auditor reputation has a potential mediating role on the relationship between audit committee characteristics and earnings management, and on the relationship between audit committee characteristics and audit opinion. This research extends the scholarship on earnings management literature and has the potential to provide a set of recommendations to investors and regulatory entities.","PeriodicalId":30298,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Management and Marketing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48503878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

IoT-based smart home technology has transformed the lives of humans by providing everyone with a connection independently from time and space. However, due to various challenges such as privacy, security, and price, problems are experienced by consumers in terms of accepting smart home technologies. In the study, it was aimed to develop a model for accepting smart home technologies, and based on the results obtained, it was attempted to determine what factors affect the consumers' intention to buy smart home systems. In this context, with the help of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), a research model was designed for the purchaser of a home as a product. In the research model, it was investigated what kind of effects perceived psychological factors (perceived ease of use, perceived intelligence, perceived suitability, perceived price, and perceived risk of privacy) have on the purpose and behavior of using IoT systems through perceived benefit. In addition, the relationship between sensory and emotional experiences of consumers, psychological perception factors and perceived usefulness was tested.  Data was collected by conducting an online survey questionnaire completed by 430 respondents. Partial least squares (PLSs) was explored to test the theoretical model. The research results show that perceived psychological factors (perceived ease of use, perceived connectivity, perceived intelligence, perceived convenience, and perceived privacy risk) have significant effect on the intention and behavior of IOT systems usage through perceived benefit. In terms of sensory and emotional experience, it only softens the relationship between the perceived privacy risk of emotional experience and the perceived benefit.","PeriodicalId":30298,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Management and Marketing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42547746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are several causes of poverty case in Bengkulu, three of which are low human resources, inadequate rural health infrastructure, and less productive population with productive working age. The purpose of the study is to examine 1) the influence of human resources management, health infrastructure, and productive age partially on poverty in Bengkulu Province, and 2) the influence of human resources, health infrastructure respectively through mediation of productive age on poverty in Bengkulu Province. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach using secondary data. The research population is all districts/cities in Bengkulu Province totalling 9 districts and 1 city in 2010 – 2019. This study uses saturated sampling. The data was then processed and analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results of the study show that human resources proxied by the Human Development Index (HDI) had a positive effect on the poverty level, health infrastructure had no effect on the poverty level, productive age had no effect on the poverty level, productive age was not a mediating variable between resources and the poverty level, so that cannot be used as a mediating variable, and productive age does not mediate the effect of health infrastructure on poverty levels in Bengkulu Province.","PeriodicalId":30298,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Management and Marketing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46118362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, this research also tries to build the best implementation model for regional capital participation to PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah which is integrated with the planning and budgeting system and integrated with regional development priorities. We operate qualitative method which aims to get the real picture by developing a process analysis using direct data sources from informants totaling 27 people with very competent status in the field of regional capital participation at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bengkulu Province and Central Sulawesi Province. Creswell (2009) states that the research process involves questions and procedures that arise, data that is usually collected in a participant setting, data analysis that is constructed inductively from specific to general themes. The results of the study explain that competitive advantage is seen from the substance of the low cost strategy of 25 (twenty five) Regional General Treasurers as Regional Financial Management Officers, there are 20 (twenty) Regional General Treasurers as Regional Financial Management Officers stating that the implementation of competitive advantage is seen from the substance the low-cost strategy is still not optimal (80% of informants), and 5 (five) Regional General Treasurers as Regional Financial Management Officers explain that currently there is no implementation of the low-cost strategy in the series of processes for capital participation in the work area carried out by PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bengkulu and in the work area of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Sulawesi Tengah (20% Informants). The best implementation model to build the integration of the provincial/district/city government capital participation system into PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah in an optimal and regulatory manner with operations is: Phase 1, capital participation management is integrated with regional regulations on RPJMD, Restra SKPD documents, and RKPD documents. Stage 2, the management of equity participation is implemented in regional regulations concerning APBD, then realized and evaluated in the general meeting of shareholders and/or other coordination meetings.","PeriodicalId":30298,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Management and Marketing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47959065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
