Multi-tenancy enables SaaS providers offer a single application to multiple different tenants (i.e. organizations) simultaneously. Multi-tenancy has various advantages including effective version control, cost control and much more. However, the energy consumption at datacenter is still a challenge, in modern CPU, dynamic voltage/frequency scaling is used as a standard to achieve energy efficiency in processors. However, an idle server utilizes up to 70% of its peak energy requirement to run system software and maintain essential hardware devices. In this paper, we propose an energy-aware application component migration method that computes the load of the datacenter servers by considering the number of components attached to the servers, count of tenant users accessing the application components; components strike rate and various other vital factors in choosing components to migrate. When all components of the underutilized servers are migrated the server is powered off to conserve energy. We evaluate our proposed algorithm using discrete event simulation. Our evaluation and discussion exhibits the usefulness of the proposed solution by reducing the number of server up and reducing energy consumption at datacenter.","PeriodicalId":302640,"journal":{"name":"2013 15th International Conference on Advanced Computing Technologies (ICACT)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114914361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rapidly growing energy and battery consumption demands of mobile phones are not accomplished with advances in battery technology. Energy consumption is an important issue in android devices for mobile devices having advanced operating system. The lifetime of the battery is more and more important issue for users, for example if Wi-Fi or other applications are used continuously in the mobile, the battery of mobile discharges before its specified time. This paper presents a battery monitoring system which is capable of sensing and monitoring capability of battery of mobile phone, which is used to indicate the battery conditions in any numbers of standby powers. The battery capability is to monitor any number of cells utilizing a frequency-shift-keyed signal to sequentially interrogate each individual cell. This modulated tone responses are used to transmit the data back to the monitoring module. This paper introduces the background service name as Mainactivity. This service provides Power saver for automated power model construction method that uses built-in battery voltage sensors and knowledge of battery discharge behavior to monitor power consumption. To save android applications energy, it is critical to monitor the energy consumption of each application. As a solution to this, process acts as a background process and used to monitor battery power for each application and overall system. It also helps to inform users about the battery usage information and restricting the application which uses excess power.","PeriodicalId":302640,"journal":{"name":"2013 15th International Conference on Advanced Computing Technologies (ICACT)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125722066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Speech rate is one of the important factors which affect the speech recognition accuracy. In the present work, training is performed on different speech rates (Normal, Slow and Fast) and testing also done on different rates of speech. Error rate will increase when the major variations occur in building the models in training and testing. Due to these variations, more number of confusion pairs occurs and this affects the speech recognition accuracy. The aim of the present work is on the reduction of confusion pairs to recognize more number of words of different rates of speech. Reconstruction of original components will be taken place in the resultant of the decoder of the speech recognition system. Considerable amount of improvement is observed in the recognition accuracy from the experimental results.","PeriodicalId":302640,"journal":{"name":"2013 15th International Conference on Advanced Computing Technologies (ICACT)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128897234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These VFTO's and VFTC's leads to generation of Electromagnetic fields in a gas insulated substations. These Electromagnetic fields due to VFTO's and VFTC's leads to greater damages on the insulation of equipments like power transformers, bushings, spacers etc. connected in the GIS system. These transient rise times are in nanoseconds range and the oscillations are in the MHz frequency range To evaluate the magnitudes at various locations, it is required to perform an accurate analysis on the wave shape and amplitudes of VFTO and VFTC. In this paper the component models of more accurate 420kV GIS station is considered for simulation and analyzed magnitudes at different points in the 420kV GIS, proposed the effective mitigation method to reduce the amplitude of the VFTC and VFTO is presented. Simulations are performed with more accurate modeling of 420kV GIS system model. Electro Magnetic Transient Programming (EMTP) is used to analyse the VFTO's and VFTC's at the different locations in the GIS system. Simulation results are represented for various types of suppression methods considered for analysis.","PeriodicalId":302640,"journal":{"name":"2013 15th International Conference on Advanced Computing Technologies (ICACT)","volume":"236 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115584695","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Almost all scientific data sets collected by the image sensors are generally contaminated by noise. It is contaminated either because of the data acquisition process, or because of naturally occurring phenomena. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to image denoising using Diversity Enhanced Wavelet Transforms (DE-WTs) in association with Bishrink filtering technique. In such a case detecting hot topics and tracking the event development is most important. However, it is almost impossible to view all the generated topics, due to its large amount of size. Therefore it is necessary to rank the topics. The topic ranking should be done on the importance basis. But this importance is determined by how frequently a topic appears and this importance varies in different time slots. For extracting hot topics, most of the text mining approaches with vector space model need to determine the weighting of the feature terms. Existing traditional algorithms can't achieve high accuracy for retrieving hot terms, because they have not considered position, scattering and topicality. This paper presents an innovative and effective hot term extraction by considering position, scattering and topicality of terms along with frequency.","PeriodicalId":302640,"journal":{"name":"2013 15th International Conference on Advanced Computing Technologies (ICACT)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116392861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Problem statement is - Design and implementation of High dimension optimal conjunctive normal form to optimal (prime implicants) disjunctive normal form conversion which is an “NP hard problem conversion to an NP complete”. Thus CNF to DNF can only be considered to evaluate best performance for higher variable processing on high end systems. The best-known representations of Boolean functions f are those as disjunctions of terms (DNFs) and as conjunctions of clauses (CNFs). It is convenient to define the DNF size of f as the minimal number of terms in a DNF representing f and the CNF size as the minimal number of clauses in a CNF representing f.","PeriodicalId":302640,"journal":{"name":"2013 15th International Conference on Advanced Computing Technologies (ICACT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123494629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The other set is chosen as the set with maximum vacant cache ways. The least recently used cache way is replaced in case of no vacant cache ways in the other_set. An owner vector indicates a line to belong to a set. The proposed model is simulated using SPEC2K benchmarks. A performance improvement of 2.5% in average memory access time is observed over traditional set associative cache.
