Now a day's electrical power system network has huge and complex infrastructure facility and the reliability assessment of EHVAC Substation is a critical issue for continuity of the power supply to the customer. In this paper minimal cut set method is implemented and illustrated to a practical EHVAC Substation arrangement and to assess the reliability indices for sub-station. The indices are then compared with simulation method. EHVAC Substation reliability plays a significant role in judgment on the whole system reliability. The paper utilizes a tactic for modeling, analyzing, and identifying the right configurations for substations base on diverse criteria, such as reliability requirements, load flow, cost of interruption and initial funds to run and preservation. To assess the sub-station reliability using minimal cut set method and Monte Carlo simulation approach and are compared for both theoretical and practical case. Paper presents the calculation of the most commonly used practical substation configurations using conventional and alternative technologies.
