The suggested method involves parameters whose values can be easily modified to apply the method to retinal images with significantly different size. The method consists of three phases respectively dealing with image cropping, detection of light regions and optic disc segmentation. Cropping is done to reduce the computation burden. Two criteria dealing with the concentration of light pixels and with their distribution within the image are introduced during the second phase to detect a subset of the optic disc. The Circle Hough transform is used to perform segmentation, starting from the set identified during the previous phase. The performance of the method has been evaluated on public datasets. Comparisons with other methods in the literature in terms of average success, sensitivity, specificity, predictive value and overlap show that our method has comparable performance.","PeriodicalId":301876,"journal":{"name":"2019 15th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131434464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Starting from the user preferences (place to visit, starting and ending points, available time, favourite types of attractions) our system is able to extract information from the Web and to suggest a custom route to the user. Our system is based only onto online information, which is dynamically extracted at the query time, so that it can work for every location in the world, with no restrictions. Furthermore, our method does not require any user intervention, unless the input parameters. Our system is also able to give to the users supplementary information about the route stops, as a photo slideshow and a textual description of the places. We implemented a Web application, which has been available online, and we test our prototype with the help of some Facebook focus groups. We collected users'feedback through an online evaluation form.","PeriodicalId":301876,"journal":{"name":"2019 15th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115351761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve these, a system that can recognize the game context is needed. In this study, we proposed a method to identify the player's shot timing at the frame level during a ball-striking sport. In this study, players' shots were detected in video of a tennis match. It was shown that shots could be detected with an F-score value of 87% or more within an error range of 1 frame (0.033 sec) by considering time-series information using a recurrent neural network. This technology is expected to be applied not only to tennis, but also to other sports that involve ball shots, such as table tennis, baseball, and volleyball. At the same time, it can be used to detect moments of a specific action (for example, touching or hitting an object).","PeriodicalId":301876,"journal":{"name":"2019 15th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121990284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we present a robust morph detection algorithm that is based on differential morph detection. The proposed method decomposes the bona fide image captured from the ABC gate and the digital face image extracted from the eMRTD into the diffuse reconstructed image and a quantized normal map. The extracted features are further used to learn a linear classifier (SVM) to detect a morphing attack based on the assessment of differences between the bona fide image from the ABC gate and the digital face image extracted from the passport. Owing to the availability of multiple cameras within an ABC gate, we extend the proposed method to fuse the classification scores to generate the final decision on morph-attack-detection. To validate our proposed algorithm, we create a morph attack database with overall 588 images, where bona fide are captured in an indoor lighting environment with a Canon DSLR Camera with one sample per subject and correspondingly images from ABC gates. We benchmark our proposed method with the existing state-of-the-art and can state that the new approach significantly outperforms previous approaches in the ABC gate scenario.","PeriodicalId":301876,"journal":{"name":"2019 15th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121999431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Situated information is visualized in its semantic and spatial context, building up an environment enhanced by an information level that dynamically adapts to the production of the information and to the actions of the user. The exploration and manipulation of this type of data through see-through augmented reality devices still represents a challenging task. The development of specific interaction strategies capable to mitigating the current limitations of augmented reality devices is essential. In this context, our contribution has been to design possible solutions to address some of these challenges allowing a dynamic interaction with situated information. Following the visual \"information-seeking mantra\" proposed by Shneiderman and introducing some \"superpowers\" for the users, in this work we present different strategies aimed at obtaining an overview and filtering, and acquiring details of a collection of situated data.","PeriodicalId":301876,"journal":{"name":"2019 15th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130791678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it suffers from presentation attacks such as 2D face photos, and 3D masks. The vulnerability of face recognition and presentation attacks detection (PAD) attract numerous researchers in recent years. Most studies have only focused on PAD algorithms by analyzing texture information, depth information or thermal images. On the other hand, hyperspectral reflectance, which benefits from the development of line-scan HSI sensors, makes it possible to detect information about the inner structure of materials. Our research proposes an auxiliary method to support face recognition by analyzing hyperspectral reflectance. Combined with biological facts of human skin, we trained a neural network with pigmentation fractions inside human skin and corresponding reflectance. The results show high accuracy in identifying skin and non-skin.","PeriodicalId":301876,"journal":{"name":"2019 15th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132960421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach enables both contact and contactless palmprints to be segmented regardless of constraining finger positions or whether fingers are even depicted within the image. It is compared with related systems, as well as more comprehensive identification tests, that show consistent results across other datasets. Experiments include contact and contactless palmprint images. The proposed system achieves highly accurate classification results, and highlights the importance of effective image segmentation. The proposed system is practical as it is effective with small or large amounts of training data.","PeriodicalId":301876,"journal":{"name":"2019 15th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS)","volume":"120 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128767958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, despite the fantastic performance of Deep Learning-based methods on various image classification problems, performance often depends having on a huge number of annotated training samples per class. This fact is certainly a hindrance in deploying deep neural network-based systems in many real-life applications like face recognition. Furthermore, an addition of a new class to the system will require the need to re-train the whole system from scratch. Nevertheless, the prowess of deep learned features could also not be ignored. This research aims to combine the best of deep learned features with a traditional One-Shot learning framework. Results obtained on 2 publicly available datasets are very encouraging achieving over 90% accuracy on 5-way One-Shot tasks, and 84% on 50-way One-Shot problems.","PeriodicalId":301876,"journal":{"name":"2019 15th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126538738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently Integral Kinesiology has been proposed, which is the integral kinematics of body movement. In this paper, we apply integral kinesiology to the bench press, commonly used in weight and resistance training. We show that an integral kinesiology feedback system decreases error and increases time spent lifting in the user. We also developed proofs of concept in aerobic training, to create a social physical activity experience. We propose that sharing real time integral kinematic measures between users enhances the integrity and maintenance of weight, resistance, or aerobic training.","PeriodicalId":301876,"journal":{"name":"2019 15th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS)","volume":"246 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116143090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
