Parameters were measured in percentage reduction of chemical oxygen demand (COD), turbidity (NTU) and total phosphorus (PT mg/L), adding ferric chloride as coagulant and potassium dihydrogen phosphate as flocculant. The effects of four independent variables were investigated: ferric chloride dose (500-700 ppm), phosphate dose (700-900 mg/L), fast agitation speed (250-320 rpm) and slow agitation speed (90-100 rpm). The experimental data were optimized by the response surface method using a central composite design. The results show that the statistical models obtained F-values of 3.33, 4.27 and 4.16 for the percent reduction of COD, turbidity and total phosphorus, respectively. Furthermore, the statistical models developed to predict the responses were confirmed by significant probability values (p<0.05). On the fit of the models, an R2 of 0.61, 0.66 and 0.67 are shown for COD, turbidity and total phosphorus percentage, respectively. The optimum conditions were found experimentally at 700 ppm of ferric chloride dose, 900 ppm of phosphate, 320 rpm fast speed and 100 rpm for a reduction of 75.46% of COD, 83.47% of turbidity and 44.08% of total phosphorus presenting a desirability of 0.7.","PeriodicalId":301862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Membrane Science and Technology","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127572669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

What distinguishes Islamic banks from traditional ones is the commitment to Sharia controls in Islamic banks. The most important results were that the motive for dealing with Islamic banks is religious motive, and that Islamic banks adhere to Sharia controls when drafting contracts, but their employees do not adhere to these controls when executing contracts. Islamic banks focus their investment efforts on debt contracts and on the youth category with fixed incomes, least riskiness, and not to focus on other Islamic contracts (Mudarabah, Musharaka, ...) that are riskier. There is no relationship between the type of contract and the extent of compliance with Sharia controls when executing contracts in Islamic banks.","PeriodicalId":301862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Membrane Science and Technology","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139348827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is a worrying threat to human health and the environment. Previous studies on these wadis have shown that Tghat and Zhoun wadis are the most polluted [1]; [2]; [3]. Adequate treatment of effluents upstream is therefore of crucial importance. The objective of this study is to contribute to the treatment of endocrine pollutants discharged upstream of these two wadis after their characterization and monitoring of their pollutant load for six months (El Madani et al., 2019). The most polluted wadis of the city of Fez [2] by coagulation-flocculation.The results showed that these effluents have a medium faecal load and are loaded by organic pollution at the limit of biodegradability rich in nitrogen and phosphorus matter and a high metallic load with endocrine disrupting effect, mainly Cr, As, Pb and Cd.The treatment of these pollutants by coagulation-flocculation with aluminum sulphate of the effluents studied under optimal conditions of pH, a dose of coagulant and flocculant and coagulation and flocculation agitation speeds, allowed the reduction of almost all the organic matter and 90 to 96% of the metal load.","PeriodicalId":301862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Membrane Science and Technology","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139348893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper applied the mixed methodology in order to check if we can confirm the results achieved in running the regression by the managers and employee’s opinion which were gathered by interviews. We gathered data using Refinitiv Eikon platform for all banks included in Qatar, Turkey, Jordan, UAE, Egypt, Morocco and Saudi Arabia. The final sample included 45 banks for the period of 2010-2022, interviewing 37 managers and 63 employees. The two specific technologies that has been examined are internet and mobile banking services. In addition, other control variables included in the model representing bank characteristics are Size and Leverage. Through mixed methodology it was determined that all variables are positively correlated, however, the degree of significance varies with mobile banking, size, internet banking and leverage being ordered from most to least. This suggests that the performance of banks in the MENA region increase when they adopt more FinTech such as making their internet services and mobile banking application available to customers. Also, the interesting result is that the interview results confirmed the regression results and the managers/employee’s opinions stated that they believe that customers increased when the financial technology has been adopted and the perceived uselessness is great and this affected the profitability of banks significantly.","PeriodicalId":301862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Membrane Science and Technology","volume":"30 25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129860417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Measuring these goals in the money language is the key to their integration, so reducing costs is an important aspect of any project. One of the ways to reduce costs is to focus on how to avoid implementation problems and the financial implications of it. Several factors including irregular financial flows, poor management due to the lack of programs that support the administrative awareness of projects, financial and administrative instability, poor control and supervision, unskilled labor, insufficient machinery, inappropriate timing for the arrival of materials, changes in the construction conditions, lack of clarity of specifications, insufficient preparation during the pre-implementation stages, imposed regulations and laws, and other factors that contribute to problems in the implementation of major national projects. This study aimed to enhance the general understanding concerning the factors that affect the adoption of APM strategies in construction industry. The research relied on the inductive-analytical approach through conducting a questionnaire among stakeholders to analyze major development construction projects which can be benefited from applying the concept of agility to reduce project failure, then presenting and analyzing results of the survey questionnaire conducted with a sample of Egyptian design and construction firms to investigate their perception and application of prioritizing agile project management strategies as a change management tool in construction. The results of the thesis suggested that the Agile methodology is likely to yield significant benefits, primarily characterized by enhanced client engagement. The Agile approach significantly encourages increased customer engagement in the project as opposed to the current scenario. Additionally, it has the potential to reduce uncertainty and enhance risk management. The implementation of time management techniques and regular meetings is advantageous in monitoring the development and status of the project.","PeriodicalId":301862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Membrane Science and Technology","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139348960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The steel used in the study was obtained from a hot rolling process with different silicon contents of 0.01, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 wt.%. The as-received oxide scale on the hot-rolled steel surface was completely removed by SiC paper and re-oxidized in a horizontal furnace with an atmosphere of 17% H2O-N2 at temperatures of 600°C, 650°C, and 700°C for 10 seconds. An investigation of scale adhesion can be done using a tensile testing machine with a CCD camera. The adhesion of the oxide scale to the steel surface was recorded on video. The oxide phase was examined by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD). The microstructure and thickness of the oxide scale were examined by a scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The results indicated that all steels studied produced oxide scales that consisted of hematite (Fe2O3) and magnetite (Fe3O4), which contained iron (Fe). The scale thickness tends to increase with increasing temperature, while thickness decreases with increasing Si content in steel. The oxide scale adhesion was indicated by the strain initiating the first spallation during tensile load. The results showed that the strain initiating the first scale spallation tends to decrease with increasing temperature, while scale adhesion increases with increasing Si content in steel. The mechanical adhesion of the oxide scale to the steel substrate was considered in terms of energy. The results indicate that the scale adhesion of steel with 0.3 wt.% Si was higher than that in another sample. It was possible that the presence of an oxide that contains Si at the scale-steel interface, which encourages scale adhesion. The mechanical adhesion energy of the oxide scale was shown in the range of 2-20 J/m2. The qualitative assessment of scale adhesion in terms of strain initiating the first spallation and mechanical adhesion energy suggested the good adhesion behavior of scale grown in the hot-rolled steel with 0.3 wt.% Si. This result indicates that scale formed on steel with a high silicon content tends to be difficult to remove. There was a need to control the Si content in the hot-rolled steel in a satisfactory way to save energy during the de-scale process.","PeriodicalId":301862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Membrane Science and Technology","volume":"236 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139348932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By examining the differences between the two countries, particularly in relation to the admission process and the content of music education programs, this research seeks to identify potential areas for improvement in South Korea's teacher preparation system. The findings reveal significant differences between the two countries in their approach to selecting pre-music teachers. All 10 universities of education in Korea do not require applicants to demonstrate prior musical knowledge or proficiency in playing musical instruments for admission into the music education department. In contrast, the music education departments of the 10 universities in the United States mandate auditions, indicating a higher level of preparedness expected from applicants. It shows that minimum preparation to become a music teacher, handling musical instruments, basic musical knowledge has a great impact on teaching music and the teachers’ own efficacy.","PeriodicalId":301862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Membrane Science and Technology","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134042562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
