They operate within four different regions depending on wind speed. For low to medium wind speed, the wind system uses a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm to generate the maximum power. For medium to high wind speed, the system uses pitch control to fix the rotational speed of the turbine and generate the rated power. This paper focuses on elaborating a dynamic model and control of real power of a 1.5MW wind system based on DFIG. Two-mass model of the turbine and Park transform model of the generator are used. As for the control, it is ensured by an MPPT algorithm without speed control and a PI controller designed based on Taylor Linearization for the pitch control. Performances of the control algorithm are examined through simulations in Matlab/SIMULINK environment, during supersynchronous and subsynchronous operating modes.","PeriodicalId":301027,"journal":{"name":"2020 3rd International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"319 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124295524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It achieves that by exploiting the huge unregulated visible light portion of the electromagnetic spectrum in order to enable high-speed short range wireless communications, as well as, providing an sufficient lighting. This new solution is envisioned to provide a considerably wider bandwidth that can accommodate ubiquitous broadband connectivity to indoor users and further offload data traffic from overloaded cellular networks. However, VLC suffers from several limitations, such as the limited modulation bandwidth of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that degrades the overall system spectral efficiency. In this respect, several interesting solutions have been proposed in the recent literature to overcome this limitation, such as the implementation of efficient optical modulation and multipleinput-multiple-output (MIMO) schemes. In this paper, we investigate the performance of multiple active spatial modulation (MASM) integrated with orthogonal space time block codes (STBC) for indoor VLC systems. Additionally, in ordered to reduce the receiver complexity, a simplified version of the joint maximum likelihood (ML) detector is proposed which has a linear complexity with respect to the number of transmit LEDs and the constellation size. Extensive computer simulations demonstrate that STBC-MASM improves the overall system performance compared to MASM with a considerably simplified detection.","PeriodicalId":301027,"journal":{"name":"2020 3rd International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117019893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is a key advantage in indoor communication scenarios, since the vast majority of wireless traffic is witnessed in indoor communications. In every wireless system, the trade-off between achievable throughput, transmit signal power and corresponding error rate performance is largely dependent upon the considered modulation format. This is also the case in VLC systems, which are typically characterized by stringent performance requirements. Motivated by this, in the present contribution we introduce the space shift keying (SSK) modulation scheme in the context of non-orthogonal-multiple-access (NOMA) communications, which have been shown to be a performance enhancer of indoor based VLC systems. Based on this, all network users in the considered set up receive the same superimposed signal of all NOMA users, which is transmitted from the activated transmitters corresponding to the multiplexed SSK users information. Based on this and assuming a unique maximum likelihood detection, we quantity the system performance in terms of the corresponding bit error rate (BER) performance at each receiver. This analysis leads to the development of useful insights of theoretical and practical interest, which are expected to be useful in the effective design, implementation and deployment of SSK in NOMA based VLC systems.","PeriodicalId":301027,"journal":{"name":"2020 3rd International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133291988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several congestion control algorithms have been developed to end this problem. However, in the presence of network congestion, TCP connections find it difficult to check certain conditions such as fairness, stability, optimal allocation of bandwidth, good throughput or even low latency. In this paper, we discuss this in detail through analyzes and comparisons made on TCP variants, we will focus more specifically on those designed for high-speed networks in order to draw conclusions and suggest improvements.","PeriodicalId":301027,"journal":{"name":"2020 3rd International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130739927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the amount of expected increase in the number of nodes and data traffic in Beyond 5G networks, ensuring Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees would become very challenging. IoT networks are made up of heterogeneous IoT devices, where each device might have very different QoS requirements. The QoS parameters for the access network might also differ from the core network. This paper proposes a client-based optimal access device selection mechanism for QoS provisioning in heterogeneous IoT networks, while also reducing the load on network devices. Network devices are still responsible for QoS provisioning in the core network. Simulation-based experimental results for indoor hybrid Light Fidelity (LiFi) and Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) networks show that our proposed access point selection technique outperforms current commonly used access point selection strategies.","PeriodicalId":301027,"journal":{"name":"2020 3rd International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133272528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
