The proposed AMC performs as a high impedance surface with a high permeability (approximately 7.08) at 9.41 GHz, with a perfect magnetic conductor characteristic. As result, the AMC is able to be stacked adjacent to the semicircular shaped. The simulation results show that the AMC has successfully enhanced the gain and efficiency of the antenna to 9.55 dB and 97% respectively compared to 8.44 dB and 96% without AMC. Besides that, a slight bandwidth improvement, from 395 MHz to 398 MHz can be observed with the AMC. Both simulated and measured results show a good agreement in term of reflection coefficients and radiation patterns.","PeriodicalId":300885,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127111140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent studies have been carried out developing graphene nanoribbons field-effect transistor (GNRFETs). In this research, a pristine 13-armchair GNRFETs (13-AGNRFETs) at 5 nm length of the channel with different types of contact is modelled via numerical real space nearest-neighbour tight-binding method. Two different types of contacts connected to the pristine 13-AGNRFETs are explored, namely semiconducting doped armchair GNRs and semimetallic zigzag GNRs. Band structure and localized density of state (DOS) of both types of contacts are shown. Effect of varying types of contacts on current transport properties of the pristine 13-AGNRFETs such as the current-voltage characteristics curve is examined. After that, the performance metrics of the simulated device, for instance, drain-induced barrier lowering (DIBL), subthreshold swing, current ratio, and threshold voltage, are computed. After analyzing and comparing the output, it is found that on-state current, off-state current, subthreshold swing, and DIBL for 13-AGNRFETs connected to semiconducting doped armchair GNRs contacts is lower than semi-metallic zigzag GNRs contact. In contrast, current ratio and threshold voltage for semiconducting doped armchair GNRs contacts are higher than semi-metallic zigzag GNRs contact. The device with doped armchair GNRs contact is less suffered from short channel effect and leakage current.","PeriodicalId":300885,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128497513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ambulatory Electrocardiogram (ECG) and mobile monitoring is very important for early heart disease detection and prevention, but its measurement normally contains various types of noise which affect the analysis accuracy. Moreover, long hour ECG monitoring requires an efficient architecture to support real-time processing and low power consumption. This paper presents an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design of Pan-and-Tompkins ECG pre-processing algorithm which aims to remove several unwanted noise to increase analysis accuracy. The complete design flow covers high-level algorithm modelling in Matlab, followed by synthesizable design at Register Transfer Level (RTL) until logic synthesis, physical synthesis and static timing analysis to produce VLSI layout. Several power optimization techniques as well as different ASIC process technology libraries in terms of SilTerra's 180nm CMOS Logic Generic Library (CL180G) and Synopsys 32nm Generic Library (SAED32) are deployed for design-space exploration to study the design trade-off in terms of power consumption, timing performance, and the logic area usage. Results show that the clock gating technique is able to reduce 32.4% of dynamic power in design using CL180G generic library, whereas the integration of several power optimization techniques using SAED32 generic library is able to reduce 43.82% of dynamic power, 91.21% of leakage power and 91.25% of total power.","PeriodicalId":300885,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116396076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a model with a combination of cellular automaton (CA) and timed automaton (TA) to solve flight delay scheduling problems in two major steps. CA can simulate the aircraft departure queueing process in airport runways through the interaction of cells following some rules while TA is used to control the flight status whether they are delayed or ready to depart using a set of clock values. Although there are few advanced algorithms like linear programming and evolutionary algorithms have been proposed to solve this scheduling problem, these approaches might not be appropriate to apply in the realtime scheduling problems due to long computation times required to find the optimal solution. Since the flight delay scheduling problem is a NP-hardness (non-deterministic polynomial-time hardness), the computational complexity will be more difficult as well as the time amount to find the solution will be greater with an increasing number of aircrafts. Hence, the work to build a simple model using CA and TA to obtain an optimal scheduling solution with time efficiency is presented in this paper. This proposed model is simple yet efficient enough to provide an optimal solution within a short time for real-time airport runway scheduling problems.","PeriodicalId":300885,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114505354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In small cell wireless networks such as WLAN and 5G, shorter traveling time is anticipated for a fast-moving user traversing the cell coverage. This results in frequent handovers. It leads to poor user experience and wastage of network resources. To overcome this problem, this paper proposed a new handover decision making algorithm that integrates the traveling distance prediction technique with the bandwidth based handover algorithm. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has successfully reduced the number of unnecessary handovers and handover failure in small cell wireless networks.","PeriodicalId":300885,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115346274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fact that computers are now able to detect and recognize objects has made Artificial Intelligence field, especially machine learning grow very rapidly. The proposed framework uses Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) that is based on ResNet 50 architecture. Due to the limited computational resources to train the whole model, the ResNet model is imitated and the pre-trained weights are imported. Thereafter, the last few layers of the model are trained on three datasets that have been acquired online. This process is called fine-tuning a pre-trained model. It is one of the most common approaches in building a DCNN architecture. The dataset that was used to evaluate the performance of the model are ETHZ-FOOD101, UECFOOD100 and UECFOOD256. The parameter setting and results of the proposed method are also presented in this paper.","PeriodicalId":300885,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117155255","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, an experiment was conducted to detect frontal and side-view faces from indoor surveillance videos. The proposed method comprises skin colour segmentation, Haar feature extraction and classification. Skin colour segmentation involves the conversion of RGB images to the YCbCr colour space. Then, histogram analysis is performed to extract skin pixels in images. Afterward, Haar features are used. Finally, the cascaded AdaBoost classifier is used to classify faces into frontal and sideview faces while removing non-face regions. The proposed method successfully detected an average of 70.96% of frontal faces. The detection for side-view faces, however, have low performance, with average of 32.67%.","PeriodicalId":300885,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127378682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several studies have been conducted that could potentially help the investors predict the rise and fall of stocks. Most of them looked into past market pricing history in order to foresee the future. While many factors influence the fluctuation of stock market, it can be argued that the sentiments of the investors influenced by unfolding of current happenings or events has a huge impact on the stock trend. In this paper, we propose a new method in interpreting the sentiment of a given news. Through a fine-grained analysis of syntactic sentence patterns using different Part of Speech (POS) combinations, the news data inputs are preprocessed. These are then fed into Term Frequency - Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) to filter only significant text in the corpus. We then conduct experiments using various classifiers to predict the sentiments. Results are fed into K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) classifier, along with historical stock price, to determine adjusted closing price over various time intervals. It can be observed that the results of proposed model are compatible with current researches stating about existing correlation between financial news and stock prices.","PeriodicalId":300885,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology (IICAIET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129799076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The best PVP:PC71BM nanofiber efficiency is at applied voltage of 15kV which is about 8.75% followed by 1.0mL/hr flow rate and 10cm needle to collector distance with PCE=7.40% and 6.86% respectively. The device with applied voltage of 15kV exhibits enhanced short circuit current and fill factor by 17.60 mA cm−2 and 69.8% respectively with uniform and consistently aligned fabricated nanofiber. This is due to the extremely organized PVP:PC71BM nanofiber molecular structure that offers tightly arranged molecular chain structure and excellent chemical resistance which offers improves electron mobility and long term reliability of the device.
