HARQ schemes which are commonly used in terrestrial links, can be adapted to improve the throughput for delay tolerant services. The proposed method uses the estimation of the mutual information between the received and the sent symbols, in order to estimate the number of bits necessary to decode the message at next transmission. We evaluate the performance of our method by simulating a land mobile satellite (LMS) channel. We compare our results with the static HARQ scheme, showing that our adaptive retransmission technique has better efficiency while keeping an acceptable delay for services.","PeriodicalId":300798,"journal":{"name":"2015 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium (WTS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129401984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Applying different power control techniques has been heavily discussed in 3GPP as an efficient approach for handling dominant interference scenarios. Instead of relying on system level simulations, this paper evaluates an analytical uplink power control model based on spatial Poisson Point Process. Tractable expressions for the coverage probability and average achievable rates of both Macro UEs and Femto UEs are obtained. We also propose to reduce the densities of femtocells around the macro base stations and analyze the consequent network performance. These results provide guidelines for the design of two-tier co-channel networks.","PeriodicalId":300798,"journal":{"name":"2015 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium (WTS)","volume":"200 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115721054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this new methodology, we describe a way to find a doubly infinite nested lattice partition chain for any dimension n = 2r−2, where r ≥ 3, and, for that, we make use of the binary cyclotomic field Q(ϵe2r ), with r ≥ 3. Thus, for the complex case, we develop the generalization to obtain such doubly infinite nested lattice partition chains in order to realize interference alignment onto a lattice. This new methodology used to solve the problem is original and can contributes greatly to the area, that is, it can be very useful in future developments.","PeriodicalId":300798,"journal":{"name":"2015 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium (WTS)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115250211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
