This is, of course, related to unmanaged waste in various provinces in Indonesia, such as the Bali Province, where as much as 52% of waste in Bali needs to be appropriately managed. Marine debris can be generated from various activities on land and at sea, such as residential areas, industrial activities, offshore activities, and other activities on the island of Bali. The waters of Pemuteran and Padang Bai have coral reef ecosystems. Coral reefs function as a food warehouse for fisheries, a place to live and spawn, and physically coral reefs function as breakwaters and beach protectors. Marine debris can harm coral ecosystems, where it can cause scratches, shards, and disease to corals. This study aimed to analyze macroplastics' characteristics, concentration, and potential relationship to coral reefs. The macro plastic survey used an adaptation of the CSIRO method. The results of this study indicate that the macro plastic characteristics found in the Pemuteran waters were soft plastic types with concentration values ??ranging from 0.02 to 0.03 pieces/m2. In contrast, there were fiber, soft plastic, and hard plastic types with higher concentration values in the Padang Bai waters. Ranged from 0.09 to 0.12 pieces/m2. The ratio of macroplastic to the percentage of live coral cover is 0.98, which means it is inversely proportional; if the amount of macroplastic increases, it will decrease the percentage of live coral cover. Butterflyfish (Chaetodontidae) is a family of fish that can live in association with coral reefs and has an important role in coral reef ecosystems, causing butterflyfish to be very sensitive to changes in coral reef conditions. The tsunami in Paraja Bay, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, in December 2018 made a difference in habitat conditions. This significant difference can affect the abundance of fish that live in it, especially butterflyfish. The availability of data onthe community structure of reef fish in Paraja Bay is categorized as \"poor data\". Therefore, this study was conducted to add more specific data regarding the abundance and community structure of reef fish from the Chaetodontidae family. This research was conducted in February 2022 using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) method to collect fish data. Data were taken on each side of the four small islands for 16 stations. The depth of the observation station is between 5-6 m. Observations at each station were carried out by placing a 50 m roll meter parallel to the shoreline with a width of 2.5 meters to the right and 2.5 meters to the left, and 5 meters above the roll meter. The result shows that there were 179 individuals found from 4 genera and 14 species of the Chaetodontidae. The species found were Chaetodon collare, C. Kleinii, C. ephippium, C. octofasciatuus, C. rafflesia, C. trifasciatus, C. vagabundus, Chelmon rostratus, Forcipiger longirostris, Heniochus acuminatus, H. pleurataenia, H. singularis, and H. singularis, H. varius. The community structure was analyzed using fish abundance, diversity (H'), dominance (C), and evenness index (E). The highest abundance of butterflyfish was 0.09 ind./m2, and the lowest was on the east side of Oar Island, which was 0.00 ind./m2. The butterflyfish diversity index ranged from 0,61 (Umang Island) to 0.71 (Badul and Mangir Island). The fish evenness index ranged from 0.69-0.84, where the highest value was 0.84 on Mangir Island and the lowest was 0.69 on Oar Island. The highest dominance index has a value of 0.35 on Oar Island, while the lowest is on Mangir Island, with a dominance index of 0.25. Based on these results, we can conclude that the genus Chaetodon has the most significant composition. Based on the community structure result, Paraja Bay’s waters provide equal opportunities for all species but have low species variation. Each species has a small number. It can be known that it is necessary to conserve and maintain coral reef ecosystems to increase the abundance and presence of butterflyfish in the waters of Paraja Bay, Pandeglang, and Banten.","PeriodicalId":300790,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Marine Research and Technology","volume":"2011 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114869450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, a larger CO2 absorption capacity is required. Seagrass can absorb carbon relatively fast and able to store it. Seagrass beds can trap sediment, so the absorption of organic carbon from the sediment by seagrass can be influenced by the size of the substrate. It has been found that the larger the substrate grain, the lower the ability of plants to absorb the organic matter. This study aimed to determine the seagrass density and cover as well as carbon storage in seagrass bed sediments. The variable measured was Sediment-Organic Carbon Content (S-OCC) and Sediment-Organic Carbon Stock (S-OCS) of seagrass ecosystems in Gilimanuk Bay. Employing purposive sampling, 20 sampling points were selected randomly where seagrass beds were present. The data were obtained using a 1×1m quadrant transect. The carbon content of the sediment was calculated by the Loss of Ignition (LOI) method by removing organic matter at a temperature of 600? in a furnace. This study found four seagrass species: Enhalus acoroides, Cymodocea rotundata, Cymodocea serrulate, and Halophila ovalis. The image data used in the SBAS-DInSAR method consists of 166 image data and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data with a spatial resolution of 30 m which is used for the topographic phase removal phase. This occurs because, many individuals still believe that the ocean can handle waste on its own, so they toss trash into the waterway, ending th seas. This investigation seeks to determine the movement of marine debris and jetsam in the seas and along the coast of the Badung strait during the autumn season. The Limited Volume Coastal Sea Demonstrate (FVCOM) method induces 3D current patterns and particle dispersion patterns derived from 3D Lagrangian Molecule Simulations. As a result of the development of wind and currents, the way of flotsam and jetsam dispersion in the Badung Strait during the westerly season was primarily eastward. The pattern of flotsam and jetsam dispersion within the Badung Strait during the western season was primarily eastward due to the development of winds and currents. Additionally, marine flotsam and jetsam particles move along Badung Strait’s coastline to the coastline of Nusa Penida.
