The essence of proposing the estimators is as a result of the assumption that there may be weak relationship between study variable and auxiliary attribute. Properties (Biases and MSEs) of the proposed estimators are procured using Taylor series method. The efficiency conditions under which the proposed estimators are better than other related ones are established. Empirical findings are incentive and the results shown that the proposed estimators are more proficient compare to the existing estimators considered in the study.","PeriodicalId":299805,"journal":{"name":"Oriental Journal of Physical Sciences","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114861131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The estimators of population mean in stratified random sampling depends on the strata estimated sample means. However, the means are sensitive to the extreme values or outliers in the sample observations of the study variables and strata sizes respectively. A new sets of calibration weights and property of the suggested combined calibration estimators of population mean in stratified sampling were derived. Empirical study through simulation was conducted to investigate the efficiency of the modified combined ratio-type calibration estimators of population mean obtained and the results revealed that the suggested estimators of population mean performed better than some existing estimators considered in the study.","PeriodicalId":299805,"journal":{"name":"Oriental Journal of Physical Sciences","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133361368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A hybrid method is developed in this paper for assessment with linguistic grades, which uses closed real intervals and soft sets as tools. Soft sets, introduced by Molodstov in 1999, are used for a qualitative assessment in a parametic manner and the closed real intervals enable us to quantify the qualitative assessment achieved with the help of soft sets. Two examples for chess players’ and machines’ performance assessment are also presented illustrating our results.","PeriodicalId":299805,"journal":{"name":"Oriental Journal of Physical Sciences","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126100125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An estimator is suggested for estimation of finite population mean of study variable. The purpose of this study is to evolve a ratio-type estimator to enhance the proficiency of the existing estimators considered in the study in sample random sampling without replacement using information of auxiliary variable. Expressions of the bias and mean square error (MSE) of the proposed estimator was derived by Taylor series method. The efficiency conditions under which the proposed ratio-type estimator is better than sample mean, ratio estimator, and other estimators considered in this study have been established. Theoretical and empirical findings are incentive and brace the robustness of the proposed estimator for mean estimation. The vibrational spectroscopic techniques (Raman and FTIR) have been employed to understand the effect of H-bonding interaction on physical property and molecular cluster formation of ILs.
